Return of the Fallen Volume 10 Chapter 43
Detra and Alutra both returned to Kazuki’s side.
(It seems the information I gave you was useful, yes?)
Kazuki nodded.
(To think it was this easy.)
Detra shrugged.
(It took me thousands of years to figure out how to properly create a tiyn world. The mistakes I made were frustrating, to say the least. When I finally figured everything out, it still took me almost 6 months to fully complete yet your not humble at all. How vexing.)
Kazuki shook his head.
(Although it was easy, I could not have done it without you. All of this new knowledge, all of the many trials and errors you went through. If not for those being passed on to me, who knows how long it would have taken. This was only easy because I had you. This achievement belongs to both of us.)
Detra was only kidding but Kazuki took her words seriously and shared the light with her.
(That’s nice and all Kazuki but can you hurry up and show us your world. It’s boring just floating around in space.)
Kazuki held up the grain of sand to his aunt before the three all stepped into this tiny grain of sand and into Kazuki’s world. As soon as Alutra arrived, she was filled with disappointment.
“Kazuki I told you to make it like Detra’s world. This place is just a single continent and a single ocean, there’s nothing else for thousands of miles.”
Kazuki shrugged.
“I can grow things in an instant but first I need some seeds or the actual plant itself.”
Alutra was surprised.
“Hmm, so it’s like that in a Lower Realm. I know many Gods that can wave a hand and grow forests without plants or seeds. Is this the limit of regular Lower Realm magical energy or the difference between this plain weak energy and Divine energy I wonder?”
“So are you saying you can grow these things without the seeds? I would like to see that.”
Detra became excited but this excitement was immediately dashed.
“Sorry, that’s not something I can do. Not me but some other Gods can do it.”
Kazuki also wondered.
“If only certain Gods can do this, it must be because of the complexity of life. For example, with the seed, I can simply nurture it with the gordonian element. In doing so, its growth becomes accelerated. Materializing a rock with that same energy is incomparably simple. When it comes to living things, things get complicated way too fast. I wouldn’t even know where to be
Kazuki thought up to here before millions of memories were recalled in his head. Zephris’s knowledge was beyond vast when it came to life and death. The man had studied it all of his life. Not only that, Kazuki had literally witnessed him grow bodies from scratch. Still, even with this vast amount of knowledge, there was nothing in his head that could create or materialize a flower from thin air. Zephris would still need some base sample.
This knowledge though was already giving Kazuki many ideas and theories though none of them seemed applicable at the moment.
After Detra had shared her memories with Kazuki, his thirst for knowledge had grown. Thinking about these new ideas along with Zephris’s memories, Kazuki’s thirst for knowledge had grown even more. He suddenly wanted to explore millions of different ideas.
(I’ll have to look into such topics later. For now, this place needs a few things.)
A rift appeared next to Kazuki and suddenly a flood of flowers from around Gordonia began to rush out in a powerful wave. Not just flowers though, trees and other fauna were perfectly uprooted and preserved as they were teleported from different places all across Feya to here.
Detra watched this ready to critique any missteps but Kazuki was acting according to her memories so there was no foul play.
“Good, you have taken my failures and lessons to heart it seems.”
Alutra didn’t understand this.
“What are you talking about. I thought he was just going to bring in flowers, why all of these different plants and there’s even some insects coming in. Ugh I hate bugs.”
“If he just brings in flowers they could easily die after some time. One can keep them alive with a steady supply of magical energy but that is a bit of a waste. Instead, you want this environment to be able to take care of itself. It needs to be self-sustaining. One could again do this with magic. Allowing this tiny world to constantly absorb magical energy from the outside but that’s a waste. Brining in energy from outside of this grain causes the energy to lose much of its potency before it enters this place. Instead, you bring in plants and other creatures that work together in harmony. A balance of some kind is needed. With Kazuki’s magic, he could supply this place with enough energy to last for thousands of years with an instance of power. With his ability to regain power in seconds, it wouldn’t even affect him really.”
“Kazuki did you hear what Detra said? Why waste time bringing in these nasty little bugs when you can just power this place for a long time with a thought?”
“Maybe I’ll try that next time but for now, I want to follow the steps one by one just as Detra did it for my first time. Just so I can get the hang of it. After this world, I’ll start to test some things myself.”
Alutra wasn’t a fan of the many insects but this was not her world so she said nothing more about them. and instead became curious about Detra’s world.
“Detra, how come your world is so nice. When I was there, there wasn’t a single bug, not even a little trace of one. What gives? Shouldn’t your flowers be dying or something?”
“I also am not the type to keep little crawling skittering bugs around. I replaced such little creations with that large tree in my world. The tree is the only of its kind in this Lower Realm. At least I haven’t found one similar to it. It’s called a Shiku tree. It grows all of its life taller and stronger in every regard. It has another name, the tree of life or the tree of rearing. I don’t know what type of energy it absorbs but it is one I can not see or touch or sense. Using this unknown energy is what gives it life. in return from what I’ve witnessed, it supplies nutrients to all living plants. Not only that but there is a special benefit. Any fruit that these plants bear ends up being filled with vital energy which is then passed on to any who consumes the fruit. This expands a creature’s life span anywhere from 10 extra years of extended life all the way up to several thousand.”
“Wow, something like that really exists. That tree really is a tree of life.”
Alutra knew many things coming from a Higher Realm but she had never heard of a tree with such abilities. Since the strong in the Higher Realms were Demigods or Gods, they would have no need for a tree that can extend life because they were all immortal. So hearing about this tree was another curiosity and another new thing she had never heard of. She was becoming more and more fascinated with the Lower Realm and all the weird and interesting things in it.
Alutra was interested in one aspect while Kazuki was interested in a completely different one. The fact that that tree he thought was plain and normal actually held a strange mystery. For it to be able to absorb some type of unknown energy. Some kind of energy that a Titan, a being whose lived for countless eons has no clue what kind of energy it is. Now that was interesting.
Kazuki of course asked about it but Detra simply shrugged. Explaining that she had no clue what type of energy it was or where it was coming from. An energy that she couldn’t see touch or sense, in the end, it was only an assumption in the first place but it was the one that made the most sense. She technically had no evidence that the tree absorbs some unknown energy but the fact that it still grew while not receiving any energy from her and in turn supplying nutrients and granting vital energy to the plants in its surroundings, she could only guess that there was an unknown source of energy fueling her mysterious tree.
“So mysterious, does it even make sense? Detra how did you even come by such a tree?”
“Hmm, I made a trade with some kind of half-elf long ago. This person was very quiet and they were incredibly difficult to sense even though they were standing directly in front of me. I was minding my own business when he appeared from out of nowhere and asked to make a trade.”
(Someone even Detra could not clearly sense even with them being right in front of her.)
“Someone appearing before you like that, I’m surprised you didn’t just attack them right away.”
“Hmm, it was a different experience. Usually, it is I who appears before others, it was kind of funny to experience it from the other side like that. Besides, this person was so odd. I remember thinking at the time If I tried to touch attack this person, my blow would touch nothing. Almost like they were no more than a spirit or something.”
“That is…odd. So in the end you traded with this phantom-like person. What is it you traded for this tree?”
“Again, this person was weird so what he asked for was just as weird. In the end, all he wanted was a bit of time.”
