Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 170
Kazuki called them to his side and they moved without delay. At the same time, the three Adigus’s raised their gauntlets and the silver wings fluttered.
Kazuki knew he could not keep up with any of the three Adigus’s but he did not need to. Before Viz, Lestirius or Tessa reached his side, Kazuki made his move. His ki was already reaching forth and he told everyone not to resist his power.
All at once a flood of ki flowed into the three Gods and soaked into their bodies sending a wave of life energy surging through them. With the power of ki flowing through them, everything strengthened slightly. For a God, it was only a few fractions more in improvement but these few fractions of improvement were something that could give them a tiny bit more chance of survivability.
Their minds moved faster and their eyesight showed them a shadow of Adigus’s movement. With the ki improving them by a few fractions they still could not keep up with him or his clones in their entirety but they got a small glimpse. This glimpse of their enemy’s movement and their instincts were on fire.
The hairs on the back of their necks rose and Kazuki roared in their minds at the same time.
(STRIKE THERE!)
Kazuki divided his thoughts and told them exactly where to strike. He as well was being directed by Arc who was following the flow of Origin energy. With Arc’s ability to sense precisely where the origin energy from the gauntlets was emanating, he could calculate with nearly 100% accuracy where the three Adigus’s would strike.
Arc relayed this information to Kazuki told Viz and the others exactly where to strike.
Hitting the gauntlets would be absurd and would only lead to a broken Divcien Soul weapon and a shattered soul. No, they had learned their lesson the hard way and would not engage directly with this flashing attack. Instead of striking the incoming gauntlets though they struck out in the path, they knew the gauntlets would fly through.
Alla t once, they swung their weapons without reserve. The power of crimson lightning exploded directly in front of Viz’s face. Golden light and frost energy permeated with the force of space freezing and tearing near Tessa’s left side and gravity increased billions of folds and bolts of lightning raced and exploded in front of Lestirius’s chest.
This of course was their own power so it did not harm them. What did happen though was the spots they struck out individually, tore open Chaotic space.
The spots they tore open, were in fact the exact paths all three Adigus’s traversed.
The moment these three tears opened up, Viz and the others were forced to retreat instantly or be sucked into the void and die. It was dangerous to tear open Chaotic space at such a close distance but this didn’t just apply to them. Adigus one two and three were worse off. All three came to a sudden and harsh stop.
All three came to a sudden halt and forcefully created several tornadoes in front of them to push themselves away as fast as possible. These tornadoes materialized in an instant and the three Adigus’s retreated and just as suddenly as they materialized the three tornadoes were sucked into the three tears in Chaotic space and destroyed on the spot.
Adigus wore a horrid look as he realized just how close he came to flying directly into one of those tears and dying instantly.
The moment he stopped the way he did, Kazuki, Arc, and Viz all noticed something was off. All three Adigus’s seemed to be in some type of pain.
His expression quickly returned to normal and they wondered if they really saw what they saw.
Adigus said nothing and promptly raised his gauntlets once more. Kazuki and Arc were not far behind. Arc calculated the paths and relayed the info to Kazuki and Kazuki gave his ki to everyone whilst also relaying Arc’s information.
This time Viz struck by his own chest and Lestirius struck by his legs while Tessa also struck by Lestirius’s left shoulder. The three tore open Chaotic space and retreated again. Lestirius stared in shock as two of the Adigus’s had double-teamed him and tried to take him out. He understood why instantly and it burned him up with both rage and humiliation. He did not want to admit it but after Kazuki, he was the weakest among those here.
Adigus was simply trying to take out the weakest link to try and break their formation. He knew if he attacked Kazuki, that weird deflection may appear again and his attack would simply be deflected but the others did not have this ability. Adigus found it incredibly odd but now was not the time he could focus on the oddities. He had to destroy those that were true physical threats. Once they were gone, Kazuki would be easy and he could deal with him with no effort. It was this line of thinking that was both right and wrong.
Right in the fact that once everyone was gone he could take out Kazuki with no effort. Wrong in the fact that attacking the others was the right choice in this situation. Kazuki who was supplying both ki and information was acting as a guide to detect Adigus’s most likely flight path. Because of this, Kazuki was actually the number one reason Adigus had not won.
Kazuki took over and commanded them all at once through telepathy.
Viz gave a wicked smile and Tessa puffed out her chest. Lestirius as well was no longer against anything Kazuki said and threw away such things as pride in this situation. It was do or die right now.
The three Adigus’s had retreated but only by a small distance. Usually, they would be half a million or several million miles away by now but after their botched attack, they had retreated only a few thousand miles. A distance any God could cover in an instant.
Lestirious’s eyes glowed with green and silver light while Tessa’s glowed with both gold and purple.
Viz’s body was surrounded by gravity and space magic and he shot through the air as if it did not even exist. He arrived directly in front of one of the Adigus’s instantly. His heavy blade which was nearly as long as his body came slashing down on a bias. He had arrived so fast that this Adigus was taken aback. This Adigus lifted his gauntlet in retaliation, the wings fluttered and this Adigus retreated even further.
At the same time, the other two Adigus’s reacted slower. This was when both Tessa and Lestirius arrived in front of the second Adigus. This second one reacted just as the first did. The silver wings on the second Adigus’s gauntlet fluttered and he retreated.
The third Adigus reacting to the first two also retreated. This time however instead of a clean getaway, Lestirious, Viz, and Tessa all struck out around the last Adigus with all of their magic. Chaotic space tore open all around this last Adigus, well almost everywhere. There was one single path out of this chaos and this Adigus did not hesitate to take this escape route.
Arc had predicted calculated all of this.
The moment this third Adigus fleed, it was already too late. The spot it ended up, three Divine Soul weapons were already waiting there. With a thought, these weapons delivered frozen space energy combined with a beam of plasmatic lightning that raged with blazing flames. Finally a source of gravity crushed down upon this adigus with enough force to shatter billions of Lower Realms.
This Adigus was fully unprepared and took this attack directly.
The sky lit up with golden light before the sound of continuous explosions rang out one after another. These explosions though barely lasted for five seconds as Chaotic space devoured all of it along with this third Adigus.
The first and second Adigus felt soul rendering agony as a third of them was obliterated. Feeling the backlash of losing an entire third of your soul was devastating, to say the least. The two remaining Adigus’s keeled over and coughed up large amounts of blood. Since they were connected, they felt this extreme death in their mind, body, and soul.
How would Kazuki let such a golden opportunity slip away?
“KILLLLLLL!!!!”
With a roar, everyone moved like lightning. Lestirus and Tessa shot forward toward the Adigus closest to them and Viz took on the last one.
Viz carried with him all the rage and disappointment from earlier. His sword came from the left side while he came from the right. His eyes glowed with red and silver light as a wall of lightning formed behind this Adigus and a wall of devilish white flames burned in the front. There was no escape for this Adigus and this Adigus knew it.
He knew he could not take Viz physically nor could he endure Viz’s blade. Instead, he turned and flew toward the wall of lightning. He himself could use lightning and counter Viz’s so this was the natural choice. The silver wings started to flutter but Viz saw this coming.
Viz forcefully caused his wall of lightning to explode and tear open even more Chaotic space. There was now a wall of torn space. This Adigus’s eyes went wide as it was too late to stop. The silver wings atop his gauntlet fluttered and he shot straight into the open tear in space. As he disappeared into this tear, the last thing you could hear was his horrified screams and then nothing.
