Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 52
“You used a power similar to mine I can sense it and now you’re empty.”
The city full of Gods continuously raised their auras and the pressure around Kazuki several-fold.
There were millions upon millions of Godly auras raining down upon Kazuki and he could feel his insides being crushed. His organs were being pulverized and his bones were ground up into a fine powder. This much force all around him was agonizing, to say the least, but Kazuki did not have a single change in expression.
If Kazuki were any other Demigod, he would have been reduced to dust the instant these Gods used so many auras against him. His body though was incredibly tough. The small exchange he had with Selda, Mashu, and Verian basically confirmed it. He could easily penetrate their defenses with his body alone. His body constantly regenerated at a ridiculous rate. His recovery was so swift that even under the scrutiny and watchful eye of the countless foes around him, none could detect that his body was being crushed over and over again.
He maintained a calm expression and smiled.
He did this because he still needed the shadowy figure to believe he was a powerful God. If he showed any sign of weakness now, he was sure the shadowy being would simply try and destroy him outright. So he played it off to try and unnerve the shadowy figure.
“So you blame me for taking the revenge that was rightfully yours is that it? Had I not shown up, you would have, what, kept the act up, and pretended this city was normal for an eternity. All the while torturing and imprisoning those that did the same to you first. Interesting…So what is this shit then? You have me completely surrounded and you are trying to force something. If you wanted me dead, you would have already attacked right but instead, you have kept the city’s barrier up as well as released countless auras upon me. You’re still being cautious. Even with my power depleted as you say, you still are weary of what I may be capable of. Smart of you but again the question comes down to why do all of this. The answer to that, we both already know.”
The shadowy figure slowly floated backward with a demonic grin.
“Although I wanted to torture my enemies until the end of time, your interference has shown me that very little has changed after all this while. I was sealed away because of my power and I could not escape on my own because I lacked power. Funny how fear can make the weak band together to subdue the mighty. One ant alone can only be crushed but if there is no end to them, they can devour even a giant. I will not be devoured. Which means I need more. More power, more strength. An infinite number of my very own ants so that none can ever dream of taking what’s mine ever again. So yes, we both know what my aim is. Your strength would be better suited if placed under my control. A powerful piece to move across the board for my purposes and my purposes alone. You are simply another one of my ants, you just didn’t know it until now.”
“So you want me huh? Sorry but I’ll have to decline, I’m not into weird smoke shadows.”
The shadowy figure’s eyes began to glow like golden beams from a star.
“You think you have a choice. You’re trapped within this city and your power is empty. As I said, you are already mi
*FWHOOSH!*
Before the shadow could finish its words, Kauzk had already made his move. The Gauntlet brought his speed up to unbelievable levels and he moved forward faster than light. He wielded his fists like a godly war hammer as he struck out without delay.
The shadow’s expression changed slightly but only for an instant before its creepy smile returned. Just as Kazuki’s fist met the shadow’s chest, the shadow’s entire body became a wisp of smoke and Kazuki passed right through. The shadow was completely unaffected by this physical attack.
“Your moves are pointless against me. Fighting me is simply a waste of both our times. Do not resist me.”
Kazuki ignored the shadow and his speed did not slow. He knew he would not be able to touch the shadow with his hand but that was not really his aim. He continued flying forward at an insane speed where he was met with several Gods who were caught completely off guard.
Kazuki arrived in front of them and his fist connected with the first God’s head.
*BANG!*
This God’s head exploded into thousands of pieces sending blood, brain, and bone splattering in the wind. Kazuki’s momentum did not decrease in the slightest as he connected with a number of Gods one after another. Every person his fist touched would explode. This though only worked on their body. After drilling through well over a hundred Gods in a single move, the other Gods moved. Their Divine Soul weapons were already drawn, and without hesitation they all attacked.
Kazuki was curious and slammed his fist into one of the Gods Divine Soul weapons. With his Gauntlet-covered hand, the speed and strength brought a force that equaled that of a God if not more. It shattered the God’s Divine Soul weapon even without Chatoci energy wrapped around it.
This God spit up mouthfuls of blood but he did not drop from the sky. Instead, he tossed away the remnants of his weapon and tried attacking with magic.
(So there really is nothing left of the previous God. This person’s soul and mind are completely gone.)
If the real God still had his soul intact then the moment Kazuki destroyed his Divine Soul weapon, that God would have died and fallen out of the air on the spot. Because the God lived, Kazuki understood that the Shadow had completely taken the God’s soul and mind and destroyed it, replacing it with a fragment of its own.
(All of these Gods, they really are gone for good.)
Kazuki flew forward without looking back. Another God appeared before him with weapon drawn. This time Kazuki used his uncovered fist to meet the enemy’s Soul weapon. Even without Chaotic energy Kazuki could completely destroy a Gods soul weapon with his Gauntlet. An artifact against a Gods Divine Soul weapon, along with the force Kazuki brought. He could destroy their weapons with one blow but the moment his unprotected hand met a true God’s Soul weapon, A small disaster struck.
His fist met the blade and a small crack formed on the Gods Soul weapon. On the opposite side, A powerful portion of aura erupted out from the blade and drilled directly into his soul world causing some damage along with excruciating pain.
Kazuki’s soul-reading ability activated automatically and so too did the spinning void at the base of his soul tree. It devoured the nearby energy in his surroundings and his soul-reading ability converted said energy and both forcefully and rapidly repaired his damaged soul.
Even though the pain was terrifying and a heavy blow to take. Kazuki had a huge smile on his face.
(So I can actually touch a God’s Divine Soul weapon and not die. Now that is interesting.)
(Kazuki you damn BRAT. Don’t do that shit without telling us! Are you trying to kill us by shock?)
(Sorry I can’t talk right now call back when I’m out of this shit. Oh and get ready for the next part of the plan.)
Arc grumbled something but went quiet. At the same time, Kazuki continued forward. Even though his speed was fast, it was greatly reduced and many more Gods got in his way.
“I knew it. You really have run out of power. That Gauntlet must be an artifact of some kind. It’s powerful enough to destroy a God’s soul weapon in one blow. With it though you can only kill so many. Stop fighting while I’m still acting nice. There’s nowhere to go so give in and accept your fate already.”
Kazuki chuckled. The many auras around him slowed him down but he was unafraid of these Gods as he came to realize something.
“You may have control over these puppets of yours but in the end, they are only puppets. They can only fight according to what you know. The moves they use are simple and boring. Do you think they will ever touch a hair on my handsome head?”
The shadow had already lost his revenge in a sense and now the one who stole it from it was laughing at him. The shadow’s anger rose several levels and its skin moved like blazing flames rapidly rising and falling. It was about to lose it when it noticed where Kazuki was heading and it suddenly snapped out of it.
“So that’s your play.”
