“You hunt me down like were enemies and act as if you don’t understand me?”
Kazuki could see the confused look on the creature’s face.
(Is this thing spouting nonsense or does it really not understand what animosity means? The way it speaks comes off rather dull. Is this thing actually dumb?)
“Me understand lots n lots. I follw u cause u funny n interestin.”
Cold sweat began to run down Kazuki’s face as he dealt with the broken bones in his chest as well as his fucked up arm. It was obvious this thing wanted to talk so Kazuki decided right here and now he would stall as long as possible until he could find an opening and escape.
“And what have I done that could possibly have been funny or interesting? The first time we encountered one another was at that cave and we have never actually interacted with one another so forgive me if I have some confusion from your words.”
The creature smiled.
“Wen I first herd u. I wuz always by my self in the drk and alwys bord. for so long alwys alwys by myself. I try talk to the others but none understand me. I wnt to ply but none could understand me so i made my own game. I hunt dem and dey run away. Wen i catch dem i eat dem. dats how its alwys ben. den one day in dis place i herd ur call. U roared out [” FUCK OFF!”]. It relly surprised me. As soon as i herd it i knw der is soem one else dat can talk and have fun wit. I flew towrds ur voce very very fastly but u dissappeared awy. Later u were at the mean guys place wen i found u again. i wnted to play wit u der but then the mean guy breathed and chased me away. Den i follwed u and to my surprise u knw i wuz der. u put stinky stinky blood on ur body but den u didnt do nothin so i left. evry time after dou u woud put more stinky stinky blood on ur body and ud stop movin. it wuz very funny. dat wuz a fun game. wenever i got bord i came to u and u put the blood on and freeze still. u wer plying wit me.
Kazuki sucked in a cold breath of air as he learned the truth. This entire time he thought he was camouflaging himself from this beast but instead the beast knew the whole time yet thought it was a game between the two.
(It could have gotten me at any moment but it thought I was playing a game with it this entire time. What the fuck!?!?!?)
Kazuki’s silence annoyed the monster and before he could say anything more, the goat-headed beast shook him by his dangling arm. Once more Kazuki felt his arm pull from its socket and felt the muscles rip apart sending shooting pain through his nerves.
“STOP!”
The creature actually listened and held Kazuki in the air.
“Y, its fun.”
Fury and fear mixed inside Kazuki. This thing before him, Kazuki was now realizing its mind was similar to that of a child with psychopathic tendencies.
“Because this is not a fun game for me.”
(If it’s actually dumb, maybe I can use this to my advantage.)
“But its fun ta me.”
Kazuki shook his head.
“Don’t get me wrong, this is fun but it’s not the most fun thing we could play together. How about you let me down and we play something even more fun?”
The monster looked slightly confused before it shook its large head back and forth.
“Nuh uh. I tolds ya once i catch things i eat it.”
The goat monster proceeded to lift Kazuki above its head and opened its large mouth revealing large sharp teeth, perfect for mutilating him.
Kazuki shouted at the top of his lungs.
“STOP IF YOU EAT ME YOU’LL ALWAYS BE BORED. IF YOU DON’T THOUGH, I CAN PLAY WITH YOU WHENEVER YOU WANT!!”
The creature paused for a moment in thought before closing its mouth and meeting Kazuki once more eye to eye.
“U can play wit me whenever????”
Kazuki nodded feverishly.
“That’s right. Like you said I can talk so we can understand one another. So not only can we play together all the time but we can also talk with each other. This way you won’t be bored or all alone. Besides, you don’t really want to eat me. Like you said I can be stinky stinky. You wouldn’t want to eat something so stinky right?”
Kazuki immediately unleashed the Azirian blood inside his mind and began to push it through his pores.
The goat-headed creature again paused in thought.
“Hmm, u may be stinky stinky but i luv to eat stinky stinky. da bugs that click r stniky but dey still taste yummy. u probably tasty too. At da same time, it might be more funner if my snack could play more n more. Me was gettin bord alwys chasn da same things over n over but u was relly relly fun. u almost as fastly as me and u also can move relly relly good…”
The goat monster got even closer until its dead like fish eyes were only a few inches away from Kazuki. Only after a long silence did the creature say.
“I wont eats u yet but u have to play wit me for a long long time otherwise ill eat ya right now.”
“Sounds good. Can you put me down now?”
“Hmm, only if ya promises not to run awy. I want to herd bout the games u knw bout.”
“Ok, I promise to not run away no matter what. Now can you please set me down. If you continue to hold my arm like this, I won’t be in my top condition to play with you and our game will wind up being boring.”
The creature nodded excitedly and finally released Kazuki.
Kazuki gently landed on the ground and gripped his dislocated shoulder. using his ki, he put it back in place.
True to his word, Kazuki didn’t run away…yet. At the same time, he could make out a small sound in the distance. As time went by, he could hear it building in the distance. Kazuki grabbed the pair of clacker legs at his waist and smiled at the monster.
“Have you ever heard of a game called marco polo?”
The goat-headed monster shook its house size head back and forth multiple times.
“Wuts a marco polo, is it tastys?”
“No, it’s the game we’re gonna play. Tell me, do you recognize what I’m holding in my hands?”
“Umm, those r da legs from the yummy clicky clicky bugs. y didnt u eat those already?”
“Because to me, they’re not very tasty. Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is, we’ll use these for the game.”
*Click clack clack click*
Kazuki rubbed the legs repeatedly and with the added effect of his ki, the sound amplified and echoed far and wide.
“The game marco polo is an easy one but it’s still rather fun. This is how it works. You will stay right there and you’ll shut your eyes. After your eyes are shut, I’ll run ahead in the distance in a certain direction, and then I’ll make these legs go clickity clackity. Without looking or smelling, you can listen out for this noise.”
*Click clack clack click*
Again Kazuki demonstrated by rubbing the legs together and again he used his ki to amplify the noise. Out in the distance, a small rumble echoed out in response. Kazuki couldn’t help but smirk but he quickly hid that look away from the goat-headed monster.
“Once you think you know where the noise is coming from, you shout out your answer. If you are right and you can tell where the noise is coming from, you win the game. If not I keep going. I’ll change spots and rub the legs together once more.”
*Click clack clack click*
Again Kazuki demonstrated and again he used his ki to amplify the sound.
The goat-headed monster seemed to not like the idea though.
“How iz dat fun, wutz da point?”
Kazuki could see he was losing the monster. Even though the game was slightly different from marco polo it still was incredibly simple, that’s the reason Kazuki picked it but it seemed to be the wrong choice for this predator that likes to chase. Kazuki quickly added a bonus.
“Well, that is just the first part of it. If you succeed though, you will win the prize. You do want the prize right?”
As soon as Kazuki said that, the dead-eyed monster’s expression completely did a 180. It got extremely excited and began to clap its hands cheerfully.
*BAM BOOM KA-BOOM!*
The sound this monster produced from simple claps was similar to thunder exploding in the sky and it rattled Kazuki’s ear drums.
“Da prize! Wuts da prize!”
(Shit, that was supposed to just get him into the game but this bastard actually wants something.)
“I can’t tell you that, it has to be a surprise right?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Kazuki knew he made a mistake. The world became silent and the goat-headed monster stared coldly as though he were drilling into Kazuki’s soul.
“Tell me right now or Im gonna rip ur arms off.”
(Fuck! fuck fuck fuck. Think think think…)
Kazuki spotted a simple rock nearby and scooped it up.
“This is the prize.”
The cold expression didn’t change and was getting colder by the moment. Kazuki grabbed his black ruler and sharpened it and began to carve away at it while quickly explaining.
“You see this rock here may appear simple now but it’s not yet complete. After I cut a few holes and smoothen it, it will become something very interesting.”
Kazuki’s hands were swift and his technique was that of a master as he carved the small rock, hollowing it out and shaping it to perfection within only a few seconds. When he was done, he felt cold sweat pouring down his back as he showed his work off.
“Wut is dat, y is it shaped so weird?”
Kazuki smiled before explaining.
“This is an ocarina, a flute. It’s shaped specifically like this so it sounds better.”
The creature looked confused but Kazuki ignored it and quickly blew into it and began to play a simple song he had learned back on earth.
After he was done, the monster looked at Kazuki in pure amazement.
” wut wus dat!? it was great great!”
Kazuki smiled.
“Epona’s song from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.”
