CHAPTER 16 – D-RANK MISSION
The next morning I woke up three things have changed. First inside my inventory there were two new items. First one was called [Chocolate lover’s Cup of Sweetness] a Unique rank item that would instantly refill itself with any type of hot chocolate just by inputting some mana. I already have some ideas what to do with such a godly item. The other item was a book called Introduction to Summoning, Practical guide for Dummies.It even had the iconic yellow and black cover that I was familiar with. I didn’t know if this was supposed to be real or a joke, but since it is a gift I didn’t want to be rude and accepted it gladly.

Secondly, the Elemental Affection stat had increased drastically. From the original 0,15% it jumped directly to 20%. I assumed it was the influence of Thanatos-sama, but I couldn’t be sure. I mean he is a higher being that watches over this world, naturally the creatures of this world would feel closer to me if I was closer to him. Anyway, this was a good thing since it will allow me to do things more efficiently now.

Lastly there was a note on the nightstand addressed to me. I read it immediately and
almost cursed out loud. I knew should have hit him last night. The note only said; I prefer the pink ones. That evil perverted lazy good-for-nothing god, why can’t he act at least half decent.

No wonder nobody wants to worship him. Mark my words, next time I will not be this polite. Upon eating my breakfast I went to the guild. Since I ranked up I could now take on more difficult missions. With that I will be able to progress even further in my training. Taking on lone and weak monsters was simply not doing it for me anymore. There is only so much grinding you can do before it becomes useless. Hopefully I will find something that will be more fulfilling than your usual fights.

Per usual, upon my arrival, Il was greeted with whispers and gossip and as I went over to the request board all the adventurers cleared the way for me. I took my time choosing and decided to do Goblin Lair clearing. This would be a good way to improve my fighting against larger groups of enemies. Maybe even try out some AoE attacks with my newly learned magic.

Taking the flyer I waited in line for my turn to come. Bitch-chan, that was currently not behind the counters, walked over and purposely bumped into me with slightly more than weak force.

“Oh, I didn’t see you there with how insignificant you are G-rank w*ore.”

I ignored her as if nothing happened. Besides, I had a feeling that this would make her more upset than any other retort I could come up with. Not even sparing a glance in her direction I moved forward to the receptionist.

“Stop ignoring me little bitch!”

“Good morning. I would like to take on this request. I will be heading out immediately so if you have any other information about the request I would like to hear it.”

“I said don’t ignore you insignificant being!”

She forcibly turned me around and made me face her. She was absolutely enraged with me. Seriously, I didn’t even try to provoke you this morning and she decided to pick on me. She must have been extremely bored.

“I’m sorry Bitch-chan I didn’t realize you were here. You see I couldn’t hear you, you
should get off your high horse before speaking otherwise others wouldn’t be able to hear you. If you hadn’t reached out I wouldn’t have even noticed you were there.”

“My name is Anika von Loren, not Bitch-chan. Remember it well you slut.”

“You got it Bitch-chan.”

I even did the thumbs up pose as I said
that. Of course I had no intention to call her by her name. Not while she was acting like this.

“There is something I want to tell you. I asked my daddy about you and he said he never ever gave anyone other than me candy. So don’t go spewing lies around.”

I almost burst out laughing but I managed to conceal it with a cough unskillfully. I couldn’t believe her words, she was dumber than I expected. Well since she went there I might as well retaliate.

“Well of course he didn’t give me any candy. Don’t you remember what I said? Only good girls get candy. When I am with him I am very, very naughty, so I get punished in a bad, bad way instead. But that is not a story for little children like you so you should run along now.”

And just like that I was able to chase her away. Looking around at those that were
listening to our conversation I noticed many had averted their gaze from me and had their cheeks dyed red. Maybe I have gone a bit far with this.

“Th-the Queen is fearsome…”

“I have a wife, I have a child. I need to calm down.”

I turned back to the girl at the counter and she looked even more embarrassed than most of the adventurers present. I have definitely gone too far.

“Um… um… here the request is taken. According to the eyewitness there are about 70 to a hundred goblins. Th-there is a cavern west of the city where they are gathered. I wish you good luck on your request.”

“Thank you… but let me ask you something. How on earth is that person still allowed to
work here?”

“I-I-I do not know Naoko-sama. She came before me, I am still new to the guild. But she changes whenever guild master is around.”

“Is that so, thank you very much.”

Leaving the guild I stocked up on supplies and weapons as well as some potions just in case and left the city heading west. Today will be a busy day, I could feel it.
