CHAPTER 161: SUMMONS FROM THE CAPITAL

It has been a week since I last left my room. For the old me this is not something unusual, but I really did start to worry Fulgy and Princess as they were the only ones who knew I was here in the first place. In the past few days there were several adventurers, commoners and nobles that came asking for me, but before they could even reach the floor with my room, they were stopped by my staff and expelled from the inn for trying to break in without permission.

My students were convinced I had went on a request even before the announcement was made and some were speculating that I finally decided to clear the dungeon and destroy it before I get married to Vitou-sama. There was only one person that was able to guess my real state of mind. He personally arrived at the inn and left a message for me since I didn’t meet him.

The letter Nino-san left for me only said two words ‘I’m sorry’. I didn’t hold it against him at all, and he was definitely not the person I was angry with. But knowing him, he must be blaming himself for what he did, even though the real criminals were the Guild Master and the Archduke. The other ones are the king and Vitou-sama, as they were all masterminds behind this whole thing.

I shouldn’t have spent all this time brooding over how unfortunate I was to have this happen to me and really think of a better way to deal with the upcoming wedding, or how to escape from it. I still have some time to make everyone think this is a bad idea. It was time to put plan for plan B, C, D and more and not stay in my room the entire time.

“My bride, you are finally out of the room. I am so glad, come give me a kiss.”

“No thanks, perverted dragon. But I am better, thanks for asking.”

I was really grateful for what he did while I cried, but it was nowhere close so that I would give him a kiss. I did not feel like that towards him or anyone else for the matter of fact.

“How cold, my bride, so what are you planning on doing now that you are out? Many people came looking for you. That accursed announcement made you become the talk of the town. I got rid of it for now, but even with that I am sure you will be swarmed as soon as you step outside.”

Well I had to deal with them sooner or later, so why not do it sooner. I went for the baths below the inn and cleaned myself up. I could not go out looking like the mess I was. I also needed to go to the guild and meet with Nino-san, I owe him that much.

“Mistress you look really fearsome. I like it, makes me want to jump you and suck you dry even with my preference of young men.”

I was surprised with her comment, but then again, she is a Succubus. And as for why she said that; I was wearing Valkyrie armor out in the open and not hiding it underneath clothes and a cloak which made it show its might as an Epic-ranked armor. I also held Sapphire on my waist and Crystal Magic Bow on my back. I even made Mermaid’s Tear into a necklace pendant. The combined might of all these items along were sure to create pressure and enhance the aura I held with all my titles.

“Princess, I will take that as a compliment. I will be putting you in charge regarding everything related to the dungeon. Make sure there are enough monsters at all times and that traps are functional and change them up from time to time. I don’t know when I will be back, so stay safe.”

“Yes Mistress, through the imprint I will be able to send you an alarm if there is some danger at hand.”

She was teary eyes as she said that. I assumed that I will be called to the capital, but I didn’t plan on going so easily. However, I had to make sure in case something happens. There are several things that could occur with one of them being Archduke making me forcibly come to Kapitalia. It really was the most likely outcome I could think of.

“I’m counting on you, so don’t cry. I will be fine.”

I went outside to the courtyard and shot up a green flare. This was a signal for all my students to gather. I knew that none of them were inside the dungeon and sure enough not even a few minutes later they were all gathered in front of me.

“Sensei!”

“Naoko-sensei you are finally back!”

It was time for them to graduate whether they wanted it or not. I knew that I would no longer be able to train them, but before I go there are some things that I had to tell them as well as give them my graduation gifts.

“Everyone, for the past few months I have taught you as much as I could. You will forever be my students and that is one thing that will never change. You must also remember that, so that any time someone bothers you make sure you flaunt that title around. I am always so proud when I hear others talk about you. You are the elite among the elite and it is time you go out into the world.”

“Naoko-sense, I don’t want to leave you yet.”

I prepared a little something for them even before I became A-rank adventurer. Ever since I got magic crystals from the golem that attacked Kapitalia during the tournament finals, I have made some experiments about them in how to use them aside from having them made into communication crystals or recording devices. The ones I prepared for my students were all personally enchanted by me so that whenever mana is injected into one of them the other two dozen will heat up and start glowing while pointing in the direction of the one which had mana injected into it. It took over half of my mana to enchant even a single one of them.

“This is my graduation gift to you. When you are in danger just inject some mana into this crystal and others will know something is wrong and will come rushing. Now I need you to go to Kapitalia and enter the clan officially. Also this is my personal advice for you. Don’t go to the Icefire dungeon, at least not until you reach S-rank at the guild. Clear the other three known dungeons first and only then you can think about dealing with the rest.”

They were all teary eyed as they kept on nodding their heads while listening to my words. Before they could interrupt them I had to continue on. They weren’t the only one feeling sad about parting.

“All of you are strong, but I don’t want you to become conceited, keep an open mind and be creative.  Don’t make too many enemies and be careful about who you befriend. Lastly I want to say this; Simeon, you will be the party leader. Luca and Zyra you are vice leaders. I want the three of you to take care of everyone, it is a tough job, but I trust you with it. You all make me so proud.”

I hugged each and every one of them before letting them go. I was in tears, full on crying just like the rest of them. I knew that I would still keep on seeing them, but it was still sentimental moment. When they left I called for Yoru and Byakko. Much to Yoru’s disagreement I unsummoned him and climbed onto Byakko’s back and headed for the Town of Orzak.

There were no people that approached me as I got closer to the town. It was a good thing, since I heard them talking about wanting to talk to me but being scared to approach me first. It meant that the effect I wanted to have on people was working. As soon as I entered the town through the gate one person refused to move away and let me pass.

“Naoko-chan, congratulations on your engagement. You sure do look perfect for Vitou, if I do say so. Your aura is simply unmatchable by us commoners.”

“Thank you Earl Orzak for the compliment.”

“On another note, you have received summons from your beloved one to head towards Kapitalia.”

This is all what I have already expected. That is why I gave and answer that I had prepared long ago.

“Please tell him that unless he personally comes to get me, I will not take a single step towards the capital.”

The Earl smiled at my response as if he was expecting it and just pointed a finger towards the sky. I looked up and saw a fully grown wyvern flying down to the city square. I squinted and saw a person on its back and frowned upon recognizing who it was.
