CHAPTER 174: I’M RICH
Separating a part of my soul is not a big deal for me. I already did it countless times when practicing possession of other creatures. I had no idea how much would be needed, so I decided to detach 1/10th of my soul, I assumed this should be enough to break the circle. When I was about to bind it, something prevented it and only one small speck was able to be bound.
“Keep your soul safe child. This is more than enough. Souls are extremely powerful.”
I was doubtful, but if it said so I was going to believe it. This was also more of his area of expertise and honestly such deal was much better for me. I felt a connection to the circle. When I sensed it in its entirety I knew that the time had come. I didn’t know how I could burn this piece of soul, and it turns out I didn’t have to. The elemental touched the circle and it literally turned into flames.
It may have been only a single speck of my soul being destroyed, but it rendered me helpless. I was on the floor twitching in pain and biting down on my arm to prevent myself from screaming and keeping my tongue intact. I was just hoping Mia-san would not wake up from her daze in the middle of all this, because I had no idea how I could explain it to her. I didn’t care about the blood that was flowing down my arm, or the nausea from the pain. I just wanted all this to end soon, and I need to be conscious when it happens. Something I was finding very hard to do at this moment.
“Endure child, it is but over. Upon being free I will leave this place to you. You may use it as you like, but I would want to see it destroyed.”
Hearing it will soon be over gave me some strength and willpower to go through this. Sadly the pain was not receding at all. The only change was that everything around me was turning brighter. And through that light I could feel immeasurable might. At the very last moment I felt something being torn from me, and then the pain stopped, replaced by healing and soothing feeling.
“Did it work? Are you able to leave this place now?”
“Child, do not worry, you did well. You are quite strong I must say. Even this ancient one is surprised. Not anyone can hold on and survive what you just experienced. As promised this dungeon is yours now. And this is my true gift to you. Close your eyes child, and open your heart.”
I did as it asked. Last time an elemental gave me a gift, it turned out to be something that could not be measured in price. I was hoping I would get something akin to [Thunderclad] or at the very least a resistance skill, since those are not easy to come across.
[TITLE: Child of Light has been acquired.]
[Light Magic has been learned.]
[SKILL: Crown of Light (I) has been learned]
What?! These are some awesome sounding things. I came to look at the elemental, but when I opened my eyes, nothing was there. Just an empty room and a dungeon core. I went there and placed my hand on it. Just like it wanted to, I would destroy this dungeon.
[Recognizing; Dungeon Master of higher rank; transferring the dungeon rights]
[Dungeon: Prison of Light has become subsidiary dungeon. Combining all DP: current DP: 3,128,652]
[Dungeon: Demonic Temptation has become Uncommon (F)]
“Holy shit, I’m rich!”
I definitely need to go to Orzak ASAP- I need to upgrade my dungeon and see what else can I do. But first…
“Naoko-chan, what happened? Why did that light disappear? What did you do? Is that a dungeon core?”
“Mia-san, calm down. One question at the time. That light was the power of the dungeon. It is no longer here. We must destroy the dungeon core. And we should do it soon.”
I wanted to do one more thing before I destroyed it. And that thing involved the dragon in the big circular room. I picked up the core and went outside the room. I stopped for a moment, then blasted the wall around the door and took the expensive door into my inventory.
“What are you doing? Why aren’t you destroying it?”
“I want to talk to that dragon once again. I feel bad making him disappear without notice.”
“Are you insane? He will kill us now that we got rid of the dungeon master.”
I ignored her remark and ran back towards the dragon. He must be aware that the elemental was gone, but there was no reason to worry. Right now we were in even less danger of being attacked considering I was a dungeon master. As for the reason why I was in such a hurry, it is because I saw on my map that there are two dozen people moving towards this place as well.
“Bride of my brother, did you free that poor soul? Are you going to kill me now?”
He asked in human tongue, but I replied in draconic. I can’t have Mia-san overhear this. Too much sensitive information to share with her.
“I will destroy this place, but I can give you a new home. I am sure you are aware, but I am the dungeon master. So what do you want, to perish or to live on? Make a choice.”
“You really do care, don’t you? I have no wish to die. This place is no good, it is too boring for me and nobody ever comes.”
“Then prepare yourself. I will see you one of these days. Bye, Dragon of Light.”
There was a fee of 100,000DP to transfer it to Orzak dungeon. It would have been impossible without gaining DP from this dungeon, but this way he would be able to live and I would gain another powerful guardian for my dungeon.
“What? Where did it go? Naoko-chan, what did you do to it?”
“It went away peacefully. I will be destroying this now.”
To keep it believable I took out Amethyst and shattered the dungeon core. An earthquake spread through the corridors. As of now, this dungeon; Prison of Light is no more.
[You’ve gained 688,530 EXP]
[You’ve leveled up.]
I didn’t have much time. I grabbed Mia’s hand and activated Space Magic-Transfer moving the two of us back to my room. The moment I reached it I collapsed on my bed and fell asleep from exhaustion of everything that had happened earlier. The last thing I saw was Mia-san looking completely confused about what had just happened. I must say, this was quite the adventure that we had.
***ERIK’S POV***
I knew something was wrong when the dungeon shook. I realized it was bad when that accursed dragon was not in its room. And I wanted to curse out loud when I saw the gate was gone and the light of the kingdom was nowhere to be found.
Naoko-chan, I know that this is all your fault. You have overstepped your bounds. I will definitely make you pay for this. I was thinking of sparing you for the past few days, but now I will make sure you will suffer.
