CHAPTER 18 – [MERCILESS]
It was time to call a conference. I summoned all elementals that were in this cave to discuss with them if I could take out all the goblins inside with a large scale magic. Since my magic was directly connected to the Elementals I needed to know if they can carry out the magic I needed to do.
I took out my Cup of Sweetness and sipped some hot chocolate while I waited for elementals to gather and collect some more information about the situation inside.
“Thank you all for coming in such a large number. I called you here to discuss the plan of attack for that large force inside. Mr. Earth Elemental, can you please share the number of monsters inside that cave?”
“297 total Nao-chan. Many many many monsters.”
“Okay, next question. Can you guys do a big attack that might eradicate all or most of
them?”
“I don’t know.”
“I just use element. I can’t know.”
It’s useless. They should be in total control over their respective elements but they do not attack other creatures. There is no need for them to do that since they have no gain from them. The only way they would use attack magic like that if there is another creature that will ask for their help, just like I was doing it now.
That meant that I needed to come up with such an attack that would take out most enemies. I also should do it in a way they would not expect it. So, either something invisible or silent that will cause them to not even notice that they are being attacked or extremely overbearing that would make them unable to retaliate. I thought about depriving them of oxygen but I didn’t know if they even used oxygen to breathe and give energy to them.
Thinking along those lines I came up with a possible solution. However it will all depend on the elementals if they can pull it off.
“Guys, can you remove your element like air, heat, dust or water from a certain area. I
want you to create a space deprived entirely deprived of everything.”
“Easy to do NaoNao, but not enough mana.”
“Nao needs to be stronger.”
Right now I was really glad that I saved up all my level up points. Putting all of them in INT and WIS I was able to instantly power up. I was not going exactly for a magical build, but later on I will make sure to develop accordingly. Now that I had somewhat enough power to wipe out the goblins I began my preparations.
First I made the earth elementals seal off any exits to the cave not allowing anything to pass through, then I set up the others to begin the magic within the boundaries of the closed off space, but just in case I stood some distance away. It was imperative that the elementals remove all particles inside the space at the same time and that it is at sudden. Otherwise my plan would not work at all.
Once everything was setup and ready, I retreated a few steps back and gave my sign.
“Three… two… one… NOW!”
Silence… I couldn’t hear anything that was happening inside. But that was as expected. The spell is needed to hold out for at least five minutes. If this thing succeeds than not five minutes, even two will be more than enough to complete my plan.
This spell was based on creating vacuum and negative pressure within a certain area. That will cause the lungs inside their bodies to collapse. Also with the sudden decrease of the pressure their blood should boil killing them from the inside. Basically I tried to recreate what would happen if they found themselves out in the space.
And sure enough not even thirty seconds later the notifications began ringing inside my head making me double over in pain and dizziness from lack of mana overcame me.

It was truly never ending. Imagine having someone beeping over your head with a loud noise and poking your forehead with a stick at every beep. Even after a few minutes it still didn’t stop. Among all the notifications I heard several level up and new title gains. Finally after five or so minutes that felt like an eternity the sensation stopped much to my relief.
Once everything was over I thanked the elementals for their help and let them off. I opened my status to check what changes occurred.

I stared dumbfounded at my status. Basically it has doubled since this morning; this was something that I definitely did not expect when I took on this request. I quickly inspected the two new titles that have appeared.
[Merciless] – a merciless person. Lessens the sense of guilt.
[Goblin Exterminator] – killed a large amount of goblins. Increased attack against goblins.
I stared at the explanations not knowing whether to cry or celebrate.
***NINO’S POV***
It was already late and Naoko-san still hadn’t come. I became worried because she would always come by to chat even if she didn’t have anything to do at the guild. I hate to say it, but I missed that upbeat personality of hers.
“Nino-bou I came back.”
“Uncle, I mean Guildmaster welcome back. You have arrived rather early”
“The meeting was held short, much to my surprise considering that the heroes have arrived. I thought this year it would go on for at least another week or two. Did I miss anything while I was away?”
“We have had a promising adventurer join us. She is rather interesting, a bit odd but overall cheerful. She brings a change to the gloomy atmosphere in guild when she is here. Also, apparently she and Anika cannot stand each other.”
“Is that so? Well in that case I just might use this situation to get rid of a certain debt. Good work Nino-bou. Keep it a secret that I came back.”
Uncle left the guild with a cunning smile on his face. I had a feeling something bad will happen now that he decided to scheme something.
