CHAPTER 182: EVERYONE GATHERS

“I am a Black Baron, you who wields Light Magic, show yourself! I will claim your head. You are a threat that needs to be eliminated.”

Now that was an unappetizing offer. Why would you want to provoke a person that just took out a third of your army in one single attack? You should consider taking Common Sense 101 elective and while you’re at it work on your communication skills. Next time try making offers more interesting to hook in more people.

“Naoko be careful, this person is elite from what we know. Don’t be reckless, you can’t deal with it easily.”

“Actually I think I can. As long as he is alive and breathing I can deal with him at any time. The real problem are the undead. I don’t think I will be able to defeat them in one big swoop.”

The Starfall is on cooldown and I won’t be able to use it anytime soon. I looked behind me at Elyra. I’m sure she will be able to do something, but definitely not be able to take out all of the opponents. I will need more help.

“Then should we join in? I wouldn’t mind going for a bit. I even brought out Sharpbeak. Come on, let’s take them out together. Even the Archduke asked to join in.”

“Hell no! I will be the one taking all the EXP and the loot. I only need to go all out. Oh man, I have a feeling I will regret this later on.”

I took out a crystal whistle I had made a long time ago. To amplify the sound, it would absorb my mana as I blew it. I didn’t know how far he was, but I knew he would definitely hear it and come here soon. The sound was clear and calming to everyone who heard it, but to those that knew what it meant, it told them I was in trouble and needed help.
After that I summoned my other two contracted beasts; Yoru and Daphira. Yoru didn’t say anything and was merely wagging its tail. Daphira on the other hand…

“Nao-chan, how could you? I feel betrayed! You barely called upon me these past few months. I was stuck with him all this time. Do you have any idea how annoying that is? I thought you were my friend.”

The Hell Butterfly looked the least impressive out of everyone here, but with her angry appearance all nearby monsters including the wyverns started cowering in fear. The effect didn’t have any effect on humans, but they were confused with sudden reaction of wyverns.

“I’m sorry, I was busy. You do know I was teaching those kids. There is nothing interesting about that, so it’s not like you missed anything. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”

She seemed pleased hearing that since she stopped complaining. As per usual she merely attached herself to me. Not long after that Byakko arrived with Ichi and Ni, who have grown way larger than any other Wind Bear I saw. Everyone aside from one person was present here.

“Light Magician come out and face me. Resistance is futile, you cannot win against me. After I destroy you, I will claim the Cursed Dark Sword.”

“Would you give me a minute? Geez! Do you have any idea how exhausting using that magic was? Show some patience!”

I yelled back at him. This action of mine seemed to have caused an uproar at the army camp below. I guess it helped them relax a bit seeing me so nonchalant.

“Naoko…wh…what do you think you’re doing? This is foolish and reckless! I warned you he’s elite, didn’t I?”

Vitou protested, even putting a hand on me to stop me from going. But I paid little attention to him since all this was to buy some extra time. I was looking towards the East and the fast approaching storm that I knew was not a true storm.

“You asked her for help. So don’t try and stop her now. Besides she’s about to gain a huge power boost. I should just go home now, but I kind of want to see her go battle crazy. So far seeing her fight had never turned boring.”

You could hear thunder loud and clear now. A few more minutes and I will be ready to head out. I took out a mana potion that Zyra had concocted and drank it to replenish what I lost earlier. I made sure to equip both Amethyst and Sapphire before he arrives.

“Nao-chan, I’m heading out with you. I don’t care what you say.”

“Oh, since you are planning on going with her, I will also take a closer look. Lil’ sis, go and make sure you don’t give a bad performance.”

“I don’t care if the two of you get hurt, just don’t try to steal from me. Also Vitou, you should get the wyverns away. They are not ready for what’s about to come.”

“What is about to come?”

A lightning flashed and thunder rumbled. Finally, he is here. I could go out and battle now. In the moonlit sky you could finally see its majestic form approaching. Dragons were not an unknown species, but they were rare and mysterious and above all they were strong. Only few can go against them.

And right now the one approaching at full speed looked quite menacing and strong even among other dragons that were described in the books. It was no wonder that his appearance started a panic among soldiers.

“DRAGON! INCOMING!”

“Prepare the ballistae, shoot it down!”

“Dare to attack that dragon and you will answer to me! Remember well, this one is off limits for everyone.”

I couldn’t let anyone harm Fulgy. Not on my watch. I may have not started off well with him, but there is no denying that he is my dragon. And I will not let anyone touch my things without permission.

“Naoko, calm down.”

“You don’t go into a fight like this calm. Come elementals, the time is here and we are going to cause mischief as we go and we are doing it with style. I offer you my mana so go wild against my enemies!”

I said that and a bolt of blue lightning hit the spot next to me showing a person standing by my side. Finally everyone was here.
