CHAPTER 19 – RAINBOW BLADE

I decided not to dwell too much on these new titles. Entering the room, I couldn’t help but feel nauseous at the sight. Countless bodies of goblins and ants were scattered all over the place. But the worst part was disfigured appearance that occurred because of the sudden vacuum. I knew in theory that something like this might happen, but I had no idea it would be this bad. I could not have prepared myself for this no matter how I thought about it.

Upon seeing this scene I realized why I was given the titles. It was truly a merciless act. Breathing through my mouth I began clearing away the room. There will be a ton of work to do at the guild once I am back. I couldn’t cope with the thought that I would have to dig through their corpses to get the magic core. Thankfully there is a dismantling area at the guild. I absolutely feel no regret spending money to skip this awful step.

While I was clearing the room I noticed one goblin corpse that was much different than
the rest. It was clad in full armor and overall it was much larger than the rest. Moreover, next to his body were two swords. One was crimson red like blood and the other one deep purple and shaped similarly to a Japanese katana. I decided to inspect them both.

I could not believe my eyes. This was a legendary ranked item. And from its description, there are at least six more that should be on par with this sword. What’s more amazing are the two skills that came along with it. Although right now the sword is sealed, but in the future I will
break that seal and get myself a weapon that will probably unbalance the entire game.

I decided, from now on I will act with the intention of trying to get all seven blades. Who knows something might happen when I collect all of them. Plus being a treasure hunter didn’t sound that bad. I already had a habit of hoarding everything that I can find useful. I don’t know why but maybe a godly item can help me become so strong that I will be able to spend all my upcoming days idly and without a single worry. Who knows, I might even be able to beat Thanatos-sama senseless. Now that is a worthy goal to have.

With a new determination I began clearing out the rest of the lair while at the same time testing out both the Goblin King’s Sword and Amethyst, and I realized that even in its sealed state, the weapon was much sharper than any other sword I have seen so far in Doren. In fact, thanks to coming across such a nice weapon I decided to sell the Goblin King’s Sword since I knew I wouldn’t be using it at all.

Upon clearing out the whole cavern system I sealed off all its entrances so that no other monster would use it, at least not anytime soon. Despite having help from elementals it still took quite some time to finish clearing out so when I finally reached outside I was not really shocked
to find that the sun was already high in the sky. I just hoped that only one day had passed and not more.

As I was heading back I was on the lookout for any monster that might appear but mostly I was sorting my inventory, going over my final haul. When everything was done I was left with 127 armored ants, 14 rock spiders, 428 Goblin Grunts, 50 archers, 33 mages, 5 generals and a goblin king. I didn’t know how much can be used, but those at the dismantling area will be busy for a while once I dump all this on them.

It was already late afternoon when I reached the town, but instead of going to the guild I stopped at the inn to take a bath. Fighting for over a day in a small area full of dust and dirt makes you really crave for a nice wash.

***NINO’S POV***

Ah… today was another boring day at the guild. Anika decided to stay at the guild for the most part which only left me with countless complaints from the others. Just because her grandfather was a bit influential person nobody dared to refute her, nobody but Naoko-san that is. I wonder if she knows that she is the Duke’s granddaughter.

“Nino-kun, who took the goblin lair eradication request? Volt and I heard some nasty rumors about it recently.”

“Don’t know, let me check. Tell me what those rumors are.”

“Well apparently around there the goblins have started gathering in large numbers.
Some even suspect that a Goblin King has been born.”

“Those are terrible rumors. I must immediately change the difficulty. The Goblin King is a C-rank monster.”

“Umm… that request was taken by Quee…. I mean Naoko-sama.”

Millie-chan, a girl that most recently joined the guild staff spoke up. She is a timid girl who you would think could never fit in with the wild atmosphere of the guild but her diligent work and lovely manners earned her quite a few fans and some rather strong guards.

“Eh? Did you say Naoko-chan? Didn’t she only just became E-rank?”

“Oh no! Naoko didn’t return yesterday here. What if something happened, if she got hurt or worse? O-Odi-san what do we do?”

“C-c-calm down Nino-kun, It would be b-best to ask V-V-Volt-san.”

“Q-Queen-sama, d-don’t die on me p-p-please.”

“A search party, we should organize one… I’m sure people would want to save
Naoko-san.”

“I will sign up first then.”

While all this was happening our heroine was pondering whether to use a rose scented oil or jasmine scented one.
