Sistina must have understood because she didn’t ask and simply agreed. I temporarily left my seat and headed towards the room assigned to Sakura.
「Sakura! You’re here right!」
I opened the door to her room on the second floor to see a Japanese style room with a tea table, Japanese writing desk, round zabutons, and some hanging wall scrolls (though it was a shame that the floor wasn’t tatami).
Then I saw a rope ladder leading into the ceiling…
「Indeed…as I thought.」
My gaze moved to the hanging scroll on the wall. If I remembered correctly the room on the other side of that wall was my own private room. By the way each of us had our own individual rooms separate from the bedroom. Each private room did have a small bed, but since it was my intention for all of us to sleep together there was a single large bedroom with a huge bed.
I hadn’t seen any wall scrolls like this in this world so it was almost certain that Sakura had made this herself. She had written some kanji-like things on it in ink.
I had a bad premonition as I moved to lift the scroll from the wall.
「Such a thing….was this the technique they were so impressed with?」
I saw an outline on the wall that was wide enough to fit a single person through it. When you pressed on it, the wall spun around the center line. I saw my own closet on the other side of the wall.
No wonder she had insisted so much on getting a room next to mine. I didn’t even care if she came in through the door normally, but these little tricks must be because she wanted to play out as a ninja.
「Ahh~! Sou-sama! You already found it!? I was thinking I could surprise you one day~」
I turned around to see Sakura’s face peeking out from the square shaped hole in the ceiling.
I could see a mischievous smile as if she was a child who had been caught pulling a prank. Seeing her adorable face made me almost feel like I didn’t mind her turning this into a ninja mansion but…
「Sakura, I need you to stop modifying the mansion without consent. There’s a chance of hurting the building’s integrity and catching unrelated people in traps will cause trouble. Right now we don’t have money problems, but if you keep wasting it like this then eventually it’ll disappear without us noticing. From now on if you want to remodel, then you have to get our permission.」
「I see…I understand. Okay. Sorry about that Sou-sama.」
I wasn’t especially angry, but I had to warn her nonetheless. It was thanks to the girls’ hard work that we had been able to defeat the Floor Boss, so they had a right to request modifications.
However, there was an issue with structural integrity and general safety so permission had to be gotten.
「Un, then I’ll head back…but later you will have to tell everyone where and what you had installed.」
「Ehh~!? Then that’ll make it less fun~…but if Sis fell into a hole while cleaning it’d be bad…okay Sou-sama, I’ll explain.」
As expected she had placed pitfalls and such…as long as we knew where they were they could serve as security measures so it’s still okay. I returned to the room to inform Will-san.
「Sorry for the wait. The mysteries have been resolved, so I will be accepting the bill.」
「I see, I understand.」
Will-san seemed to understand that Sakura had gone wild and simply agreed with a small smile.
「Soujirou-sama, we discussed the magic stones necessary for daily life and came to the price of 300,000 mars, what do you think?」
「It’s alright, if you think the price is good then it must be.」
「Yes, in fact the price seems to be lowered so I feel a bit indebted.」
「No, if you’re buying in bulk like this then it’s obvious to lower the prices, we are getting more than enough benefits.」
Based on the breakdown I could see the most expensive stones were the light ones for the living room, kitchen, and dining room since they were large areas that needed bigger magic stones and those who could grant light magic were rarer.
「The total costs will come to 5.27 million mars, we will deduct that from the 15 million mars sale of the magic stone…so here are the remaining 9.75 million mars.」
Will-san took out a heavy looking bag from his always present attaché case and put three gold coins on the table. Most likely the bag held 97 large gold coins.
「You’ve really helped me out.」
I really received many favors from Will-san. Without him, even if we had sold the magic stone we wouldn’t have been able to get such favorable terms or such an ideal environment to live in.
As I thought that I took the three gold coins he had placed on the table and returned them to his hand.
「This is not a trade; it is simply an expression of our gratitude. Please accept it.」
「That! How could I…..hm…well thank you very much. I’ll use this money when it’s time for me to do my own business.」
He said and kept the coins carefully in his bag, and I brought up the thoughts I had wanted to tell him.
「…I see. That indeed is an interesting proposal. We could increase the number and quality of explorers, it will make it easier to secure personnel and personal connections as well. It would need the Lord’s cooperation and the cost of producing magic tools as well…but even the Lord’s side would make a good profit…」
As he heard my suggestions Will-san’s eyes glittered as he began writing in a small notebook. It seems he really liked what I had to say.
「Thank you very much Fujinomiya-sama! That filled me with inspiration! It makes me want to start moving immediately so may I take my leave?」
「Y-yeah I don’t mind but….I wanted to ask you and your father to attend tonight’s banquet.」
「Of course! I’ll definitely ask so please excuse me!」
Will-san said energetically as he rushed out.
「He’s really getting into it…」
「Yes…I didn’t really understand most of it though.」
「Haha…well I saw there wasn’t a standard isekai reincarnation story thing in this world, so I wanted to suggest it…」
I whispered quietly so she wouldn’t hear it properly. Even if she did it probably wouldn’t make much sense.
I was lost in my thoughts when I heard the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching and Will-san suddenly showed his face through the door.
「Sorry about that Fujinomiya-sama, but I forgot to tell you something important. The skilled 『Magic Skill Craftsman』 and 『Magic Tool Craftsman』 have been found and I can tell you the details at supper tonight.」
After dropping that on us Will-san ran away again. Sistina and I simply looked at each other before snickering.
