Section 1

So I think I will talk about how everything worked out.

I shall explain everything in order.

In the first place, how did I manage to pay for the bills?

As Tensai had figured out I had leaked the information and obtained the monetary reward from Ms. Yukihime and Shū……or not really.

The answer is that I had sold all the games that I had bought with my part-time money earlier.

I had just put aside the problem with the food. My priority was to avoid being kicked off the island. Thus, I decided to use the food expenses and the money from selling the games to pay my bills.

Of course, Nanana was very angry. Die! Selling culture for money? Unbelieveable! . She was really angry. She went wild saying,If you sell the games, I’m going to be super bored you know! . She punched me saying, I almost finished the game! , and scratched me saying, Now I can’t play with everyone!

Definitely the last reason was the most infuriating part.

But because I did not want to be chased out of the island, I snatched the games from Nanana (or rather stole it from her when she was not on her guard when I had Dogeza). I had endured her passionate singing of the songDonna Donna[1. TL Note: “Dona Dona” popularly known as “Donna, Donna” is an originally Yiddish song about a calf being led to the slaughter written by Sholom Secunda and Aaron Zeitlin.], which intended to mentally kill me. I had gone out of room 202, and sold it at the nearby illegal second-hand shop.

Thus, in order to gain her forgiveness, I had thought of offering a pudding that ranks very high in her pudding ranking.

Here is the first question: why was the real Nanana Collection from the ((Ruins)) in the box delivered by the Cool Postal Service?

The answer is hidden in the events of last night when I had stayed in the inn.

After playing table tennis with Tensai and D’arc, the night when I had gone into my room. I was trying to  make a decision after passing by Ms. Yukihime while heading to the hot springs. I decided to carry out my plan.

Well, I had secretly left the inn and went to the western-style estate myself. I planned to possibly get the Nanana Collection for myself.

I had turned off the lights, and after changing my clothing, I jumped down from the second-story window. Also, I took my shoes from the lobby secretly after parting with Tensai and D’arc. (In traditional places in Japan shoes are left at the entrance and house shoes are worn inside)

I used a cheap penlight that I had brought and climbed the mountainous road to arrive at the estate. After climbing over the metal fence, I headed towards the back door of the building that Mr. Tsurezure had told me about.

This must be the entrance.

I carefully opened the back door and looked inside. As Mr. Tsurezure had described, mechanical noises started creaking somewhere inside.

I placed a big stone I found nearby between the door and the entrance so that it won’t close on me, and stepped inside. I carefully opened a nearby door and looked inside.

…..Hm? Don’t tell me this is.

I stopped at the place I guessed it would be at, it turned out that my guess was correct because there was a click sound.

I immediately jumped back, and three poles shot out from the wall.

As I thought, a trap huh.

I left for now and closed the door.

A while later  I opened the door again and the trap had retracted to its original position.

I peeked into another nearby door, and confirmed that there was a similar trap set there as well. After this I left the estate.

The main things here are traps, huh……This is possible.

At this point, my hope turned into confidence.

However, it would be impossible to clear the ((Ruin)) empty-handed.

I would need a good set of tools in order to do something about the traps. On top of that, some of them are quite hard to obtain. This made me think,Perhaps it is impossible. . At this point, I thought of something.

I went back into the estate and called someone on my phone.

Hello-, what’s up Jūgo?

Ah, Sanada. I need a certain phone number. Can you find it for me?

Hm, probably.

After a few minutes, my former training mate who calls himself an information broker really did find the phone number I wanted.

……You really are an information broker huh?

It seemed that it was not a joke.

Then, what about the payment?

……Sorry, can I pay next time?

Since this is the first time, he allowed this.

Then, I called the phone number he found for me.

……Who is this?

I am your best friend Tetsu. I am Anpanman.

    He hung up.

    I called him again.

Sorry, I was fooling around. Thank you for taking care of me earlier. I am Jūgo Yama.

……How did you find out my phone number?

With the power of love.

    He hung up.

    I tried again.

Sorry, I went too far with my jokes.

I won’t give you another chance. Then, what do you want from me?

Good. It seemed that he would still listen to what I had to say. As I had thought, Tetsu is a good person.

Your organization sells things that usually you can’t find, right?

What if we do?

    As I had expected.

I had thought of what Mr. Shū had said earlier on when I coincidentally met him at the Tsukuyomi town.

Apparently the organization that rules this town has its own way of importing things. So, you can find anything in this town.

I had thought so, but the organization that rules the town is the organization that Tetsu is a member of. That means, as Yun had said, that Batako san must be the ruling boss of that Tsukuyomi town.

    Well, that aside.

I want you to sell me some things. Most likely, since your town is quite dangerous, you should always have some in stock.

When I named a few things I wanted, Tetsu said, True I do think we have it in stock. . When I asked him about the specific tools, he also said there probably is stock. I was honestly quite amazed at how much they have.

This is the real stuff, but I have several reasons why I called you.

What do you mean?

Firstly, I want you to deliver them to me by 1 am.

Deliver?

The place is the hot spring town.

That far, huh?

Is it not possible?

It is already past 10 pm, huh……although I don’t want to, it is possible.

Next, I can’t pay now.

Are you joking?

I am really serious.

I really don’t have money now.

……Oh yeah, you left without getting your pay, huh. Adding that up……

Well there is that too, but lastly.

What is it?

I want you to keep this a secret from Batako.

    He fell silent.

That is impossible.

Please.

Are you telling me to betray the boss?

I am not saying that. I am not telling you to keep the deal a secret. I just want you to keep it a secret that I bought the stuff. Just tell her somebody else bought it.

I refuse. I don’t owe you so much as to do all that.

That is why I will give you something even more.

Something?

This is when I played my trump card.

Doesn’t Batako have a hobby of collecting some weird antique items?

    Tetsu fell silent.

I can’t pass it to you now, but I will give one of them to you next week.

……

Offering the Nanana Collection. This was my best card.

My goal is to simply find who killed Nanana. If I can achieve that through using the Nanana Collection that would be good. However, if the Nanana Collection does not have the power to find the murderer, I don’t mind passing it on. Although it was kind of sad, there was a greater objective.

I don’t mind how you use it. You can have it as your own, or you can offer it to Batako. But I want you to not tell her that I bought the stuff from you. That is the condition.

I don’t understand. Then why can’t you just directly strike a deal with the boss? If you offer it to her, she would reward you with lots of money.
