 The interpreter asked Nanana,

  After listening to Rou, the interpreter lifted his hand up towards Nanana.

 ｢So does that mean that the contest will continue as a Blackjack match?｣

  Nanana shook her head at the interpreter’s question. 

 ｢No, I would like to suggest a different game.｣

 ｢A different game?｣

 ｢Yes, the rules will be as following. We will use a standard deck of 52 playing cards. They will be shuffled and placed on the table. We will take a card from that one by one and add the numbers of the cards we get. The upper limit of our hand will be 21 just like the blackjack we were playing before, but the cards we draw will be counted instead of the number on the card. To sum it up this will be a match where we will compete to have as many cards as we can get before our hand reaches 21.｣

 ｢So it is not a competition of the total number you get but the number of cards you have, is that right?｣

  Nanana nodded at the interpreter’s question. 

  Sansa was impressed by the idea Nanana had just suggested. 

  This game doesn’t include a dealer like blackjack. It would be just Nanana and Rou, and it’s a pure battle between the two that Nanana wants to have. 

 ｢Of course I am fine if you don’t want to accept my terms, but if you don’t accept it then the match would end here for today. ｣

  Sansa didn’t know if she was doing it on purpose or not but Nanana’s words were a provocation at Rou.

  It would tarnish Rou’s reputation if he ran away from a little girl’s challenge while being watched by this audience. It’s Nanana that is trying to nullify the previous rule but the atmosphere of this room was pressuring him to accept her challenge. 

  Rou’s expression changed after he heard what Nanana had said from the interpreter. Rou laughed as if he was having fun but his eyes changed to that of a predator looking at his prey. Rou spoke his mind and made the interpreter relay it. 

 ｢I see, it seems really interesting. It isn’t bad but it lacks stimulation a little. So how about we spice it up a bit?｣

 ｢Spice it up?｣

 ｢I feel like adding something else to the prize, what do you think?｣

  The audience started buzzing after hearing Rou’s words and Nanana widened her eyes in surprise after she heard the interpreter. 

 ｢So what are you going to add?｣

 ｢We will be betting something more than the chips we have mutually agreed to bet. ｣

  Sansa understood what the deal was after hearing that. In short they were going to make Nanana bet herself and most of all Rou was planning on ending this game here and now.

  As expected, Rou pointed towards them. 

 ｢Instead, you will be betting that lady over there.｣

 ｢…What, me?｣

  Sansa was stunned. It was because Rou’s finger was not pointing towards Nanana but towards her instead. 

 ｢Oh, then we can stop this here.｣

  Nanana stepped down without giving it a second thought. 

 ｢What? You are going to back out!?｣

 ｢Yeah, since I don’t want to cause trouble for you.｣

  Nanana gave a weak smile and Sansa snapped at it. 

  Does she not realize how much trouble she’s already caused for me? I don’t know if she is being naive or humble. How dumb can she be?

  Sansa asked Nanana while being irritated. –

 ｢Are you confident that you’ll win?｣

 ｢Yeah.｣

 ｢Then play.｣

 ｢Wha…but…｣

  Sansa sighed after witnessing Nanana acting all meek. The Nanana who was full of confidence was nowhere to be seen. 

 ｢What I am saying is that if I’m going to share in the rewards I should share in the risk.｣

 ｢Are you really fine with that?｣

 ｢Yeah, I’m fine with that.｣

 ｢But if I lose you are going to have to do lewd things for Rou-san. You know that right?｣

 ｢Rest assured, I don’t intend on doing such things apart from Koma.｣

 ｢But if I lose then you would be the only one who would be in trouble.｣

 ｢That’s not true. If you lose than you will be ruined too.｣

 ｢Hm? What do you mean?｣

 ｢Use your brain. What are you going to do in this country that you have entered illegally if you part ways with me here? ｣

 ｢…Oh.｣

 ｢You don’t know the language here and you don’t have money, it would be the end of the road for you.｣

 ｢You are right.｣

 ｢That’s what Rou wants. In Rou’s mind you have someone to back you up, which is me. So he is going to crush me first.｣

  Rou who rules this city from the shadows can do whatever he pleases with Nanana who will have nowhere to go. In short, that’s Rou’s true objective. 

 ｢So what you are saying that is that you are my guardian?｣

 ｢Yeah that’s right.｣

 ｢But am I not the one who is in charge between us?｣

 ｢Not at all, fatty boobs.｣, says Sansa as she is surprised at Nanana’s stupidity. 

  Sansa questioned herself about how things turned out like this. Sansa came here to start up a good relationship with Rou. She wasn’t going to hesitate to throw Nanana at him if it helped her fulfill her goals. After watching their match till now though, Sansa felt like she wanted to see more of what Nanana was going to do. She was feeling a possibility that Nanana’s desperate situation that seemed hopeless might not be hopeless after all. 

  The situation changed drastically for Sansa just now. Rou looked down at Sansa as just a mere prize. It was the type of humiliating treatment that Sansa couldn’t forgive the most. Sansa didn’t intend on staying quiet after being treated that way. 

 ｢Alright, I’ll win then.｣

  There was none of the meekness that Nanana was showing a moment ago as she grinned.

 ｢Yeah, do that.｣

  Sansa replied to Nanana’s grin with a grin. 

  And the battle for their life broke out. Rou ordered his underlings to bring a fresh sealed deck of cards. 

 ｢Let’s use these cards for this game. In order to make sure things fair, you can unseal this deck.｣

  Nanana took the pack of cards after being told that. She took off the transparent seal and took out the new cards from inside the box. She spread the cards in her hand like a fan and confirmed that the cards were ordered properly from the ace of spades onward. Rou extended his hand so she gave the cards to Rou like that. Rou took the cards and looked around gazing at the audience and pointed at a man and gestured at him to come over. The fat middle aged man who got pointed at was surprised but approached the table. 

 ｢And to make it more fair I want this man to shuffle the cards, how about that?｣

  The man was surprised after finding out that the fate of the match was in his hands. 

 ｢Sure, I am fine with that.｣

  Nanana agreed and Rou gave the cards to the man and said something. The man nodded and started shuffling immediately. 

  In the middle of that Rou ordered something to his underlings and soon after that a few men came carrying four cases. They opened the cases together at once in front of Nanana and the rest. The cases were filled with bills. Nanana reflexively stared into it. 

 ｢It’s the amount equal to the chips you have along with the amount we will be betting. In short, whoever wins gets to keep this money.｣

  The audience exclaimed after they saw the money. Hao, who was behind Nanana, gasped in surprise. 

 ｢Uhyoooo!｣

 ｢Wait! Sa…Sansa, how much is that?｣

  Sansa’s arm got pulled by Nanana and she gave a brief glance towards the cases.

 ｢It’s around the amount of the first prize of a lottery.｣

 ｢A…are you serious?｣

  Nanana stood in shock and the cases got stacked near a corner of the table after being shut. The fat man was done shuffling while all that was going on and he handed the cards to Rou. He placed them on the table and slid the cards to spread them. He made a line of cards by spreading them. 

  The interpreter conveyed what Rou said to Nanana. 

 ｢It is up to you if you want to go first or last. I am fine with you choosing either of them, lady.｣

  Nanana was given a choice from Rou who was smiling at her. 

 ｢Hmmm.｣

  Nanana started thinking. 

 ｢Early bird gets the worm, so…｣

 ｢She’ll go last.｣

  It was Sansa who declared that after interrupting Nanana’s sentence.
