Nagao Masakage had an abnormal obsession with Uesugi Kenshin, to the point where he ended up marrying Kenshin’s sister and reigned as the head of the clan and the vice-commander of the Echigo army, but even then, he still continued to oppose and fight against Kenshin, because deep down in his heart, never gave up on his ambition to one day make Kenshin his wife.

In order to fulfill that ambition of his, Nagao Masakage repeatedly opposed Kenshin and cornered her on several occasions, but Kenshin always ended up forgiving Nagao Masakage’s rebellions and his evil intentions against her.

That was the way in which Bishamonten decided to live her life, and since her beloved sister married Nagao Masakage, there was no way for Uesugi Kenshin to bring herself to kill or banish her sister’s husband from Echigo.
