Bontenmaru smiled and said that, revealing a neat set of white teeth from her vantage point in Yoshiharu’s arms. However…

Yoshiharu thought to himself.

Frois said while crying.

「Ouch, Ouch! Damn it, don’t you ridicule me like that! No… no more… The Sealed Beast… you’re going to wake The Beast of Revelation up! Stop it right now if you know what’s good for you! 」

「Ugh? What the hell is this setting? You’re not making this satisfying in the least, kid! 」

Frois wiped her tears, stood up and said:

「Anyway, Yoshiharu-san, there seems to be something troubling you. God once said: 「Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you」. And since we met each other today, then I am sure that the Lord’s hand has guided you here to make it happen.

「True, it might really be like this. 」

「Yes, exactly. So If you don’t mind, I can listen to whatever seems to be weighting on your mind. 」

「Really? Thanks! 」

「Ehhh. Aren’t you gonna continue reading The Book of Revelation? But I wanna hear more of it! 」

「Okay, okay. Then let us continue with the story first, Bontenmaru. 」

(To talk about the Book of Revelation in the Sengoku era at a Namban-ji, it’s really a messed up combination…)

Yoshiharu couldn’t help but think that.

Anyway, Yoshiharu found an empty seat, placed Bontenmaru on his thighs, and listened to Frois’s story.

「Revelation, Chapter 13: I saw a beast coming out from the sea, and it had 10 horns and 7 heads, and its horns had 10 crowns while its head had an unholy symbol engraved on it… 」

「Ohh, so frightening! That’s really terrifying…! 」

「 The believers all revealed an expression of fear.
(The contents of this story don’t fit Frois’s angelic voice at all… )

Yoshiharu thought.

「Here it comes! The Beast! Hehehe, no matter how many times I hear this part, the appearance of this ‘Beast’ makes me so excited…! 」

Bontenmaru was moving about on top of Yoshiharu’s thighs. She was the only person in the entire church who looked so eager to listen.

Frois gave a wry smile and said:

「Ahaha… kids really love such stories… 」and continued to read.

「Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast. And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

「The second one! Go! Good job, Beast! Use the fire from the sky and burn everything, scorch this earth! Let the corrupt Japan go up in flames! 」

「Oi, brat. Your way of thinking is just too wrong! 」

「My good rival Sagara, let me tell you something. The first beast that appears, it’s me, hehehe! The second beast, is my prophesied subordinate, Kojuuro!「

「Who the hell is Kojuuro! And since when did the bible’s prophecies has such Japanese-sounding names! 」

「Ohh, no matter how many times I hear of it, I’m moved by it. Letting Kojuuro create a speaking statue, and killing all who do not worship it, that’s such a genius! Hehehe 」

「Hehe. Bear with her for just a while longer, Yoshiharu-san. *Ekhem!* He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

「The symbol has finally appeared~~! Worship me, kneel in front of me! 」

「Oi…eh? I seem to have heard this story from somewhere before… 」

「This symbol is that beast’s name, and the number of its name. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666. 」

「666, there it is!!!!! 」

「Uhhh, this is one hell of a story~~! Sagara, do you know that I am this beast!? 」

「What are you talking about? Does your head have the symbol 666 somewhere on it? 」

「Take a nice, long look! It’s here on my eyepatch! 」

Looking at the direction Bontenmaru was pointing, Yoshiharu could see it clearly. On the eyepatch covering one of her eyes, there really was a number 666 engraved on it.

「Are you an idiot? 」

*SMACK!*

「Oi, don’t hit me! Don’t you dare hit me! What if you awake the beast sleeping inside of my body? You human, don’t you feel afraid of what is going to happen then? 」

「Hehe. Let’s end it here for today, Bontenmaru. 」

Frois closed the bible, and the believers all sighed and started saying things like:「 Ahh, the Book of Revelation is so scary, no matter how many times I’ve heard it. 」, 「Compared to the ‘Journey to Hell’ from Bōzutera, it seems the Namban-ji’s Book of Revelation is more impactful! 」, 「That was way too exciting, what a book! 」and they kept on nodding their heads while slowly dispersing from the church.

During this period, everyone left dried food or fruits in the church, most likely as offerings for Frois.

「Then everyone, I’ll see you again tomorrow. 」

Eventually the only ones left were, Frois, Yoshiharu and Bontenmaru.

「You should go back home too! Just how long do you plan to sit on top of my legs! 」

「I refuse! If I allow you to be alone with Frois, Frois’s breasts will be in danger! My eyes have the power to see through people’s hearts and their hidden intentions! Your evil scheme and lustful eyes had been seen clearly by them, hehehe! 」

「Uhm Yoshiharu-san? About he things you wish to talk about… would it be okay for Bontenmaru to hear them too? 」

Yoshiharu then officially reintroduced himself to Frois.

「My name is Sagara Yoshiharu. I am the vice-captain of the Oda clan from Owari. What I said might be a bit too far-fetched, but Frois who has traveled all the way here from Europe might understand this. Actually, I’m from Japan in the future. 」

「Ah, future Japan… is that so? 」

「Yes. It’s a world approximately 400 years in the future from now. 」

「Ohh, how pitiful! Yoshiharu is already so old, and yet he has read too many fantasy stories! 」

Bontenmaru laughed while looking down on him.

「Brat, keep this up, and I swear that no matter what happens, I will spank you again! 」

「No, Don’t hit me! Don’t hit me! 」

「Compared to you who wants to be the Beast of Revelation, my story is way better! Besides, unlike you, all that I’ve said is the truth! 」
