Missiles poured down from high altitude, raining onto the land before the Polar Management Facility. It had to be a time-lag strike that exploited the mirage.

The blast waves themselves didn’t amount to much, thanks to higher-dimensional projection armor. What they needed to fear were the missiles meant to score direct hits.

The incoming missiles carried A-Spinel cores.

Which meant their casings, too, were clad in higher-dimensional projection armor.

「A direct hit is bad. Evade!」

The Teutates units and the Antique Silhouettes tried to intercept—then, realizing it was impossible, broke off and dodged instead. The Lailaps were hidden in the ground and ice.

The missiles didn’t strike the Lailaps directly. They punched straight through, penetrating into the ice shelf.
