In an open-air arena repurposed from a deserted island, two machines stood facing each other.
One was Unit 5, piloted by Kou. It had been stripped of the Assault Flight Model external armor, operating in the high-mobility TSW-C configuration. The other was Vasa’s Bogatyri. While its exterior remained largely unchanged like Unit 5, its internals had clearly been updated to the latest specs.
Unit 5 stood with its hand on the sword’s hilt. Bogatyri was dual-wielding shashkas, poised to strike with both blades extended.
「At last… this moment has come.」
Vasa spoke with quiet reverence. He had waited for this. Though the ban on firearms was expected, it still felt like he was granted a handicap. No ranged weapon used by the Argonautai matched the destructive output of a D-Rifle shell.
