「Never heard of that unit type before.」

「Same here.」

「Likewise.」

All three of them were unfamiliar with this weapon.

But more than anything, its unsettling shape gave them pause. It didn’t inspire awe—just a vague sense of the unnatural.

「Looks more stable than a bipedal frame, though…」

「Maybe it’s a mobile artillery platform? Or some kind of height-adjustable tank?」

It was hard to guess the combat potential of this Fighting Machine called Lailaps just by its appearance.

From a torso reminiscent of a tank chassis protruded a massive single-eyed head. A wide-angle lens in a bizarre shape—part ostrich, part long-necked turtle.

「We’ll figure out what it can do in a few minutes. Stay sharp!」

Bard called out to the other two.

They couldn’t afford to get caught up analyzing it mid-battle.

「Of course.」

「We know.」

「Guess we’ll just call ’em Fuujin Tri and Raijin Tri. Good enough, yeah?」

Hyoue casually named them on the spot.

Hyoue and Kou tightened their focus.
