A blaring alarm echoed throughout the Space Settlement Ship Britannion.

「Something’s coming again?!」

Bardo’s voice rang out, laced with frustration. It wasn’t himself fighting and dying out there—it was children, some of whom had never even experienced real combat.

It was all he could do to keep from being swallowed by helplessness.

「We’ve detected a high-speed projectile approaching from behind the attacking Lailaps. This may be the enemy’s real offensive.」

「Can it breach the Britannion’s interior?」

「Not under normal circumstances. Even an Antique Silhouette of the Seraphim class shouldn’t be able to pierce the ship’s armor.」

「So they are sending something much more dangerous than a Seraphim class, huh?」

「You should know what I’m talking about, Outis. If it’s an Another Level Silhouette—the kind built for battle during the Pioneering Era—then breaching the armor is feasible.」

「It’s possible, yeah. But those were only operable by humans. Are you saying there’s a Barbaroi recognized as human?」

「I would say no.
