The defense forces of T341 Fortress Area had fallen into panic.

Shell after shell rained down with pinpoint accuracy upon their Silhouettes and tanks.

「Why the hell are shells falling from above!? Is this some new weapon!?」

In truth, it was artillery fire coordinated with Owl-Eye reconnaissance. None of them had ever faced howitzers before.

The very concept of the howitzer had seen little use against Silhouettes, whose armor neutralized blast effects. And since the Stones’ mercenaries lacked Familias, this was, ironically, their first brush with such a strategy.

「You don’t even know what a howitzer is? You lot are spoiled rotten by peace. Normally it’s an area-suppression weapon, but by the 20th century there were also armor-piercing shells designed for direct hits.」

One of the transferee mercenaries spat in disgust. Such weapons had already been used in World War II. To him, it was absurd that ‘soldiers’ here had never even heard of them.
