CHAPTER 101 PART 3

「Well, in that case, how about one hour from now on sounds?」

「Yes, please. That would be ideal.」

I don’t really know why Tina was so adamant about keeping this a secret, but……

I wonder what’s that all about?

For the time being, I was only able to tilt my head in puzzlement as I wondered about that.

And then, one hour later……

I moved to the front of Tina’s room and knocked on the door as quietly as possible.

「Tina, it’s me.」

「Yes, please come on in.」

「Sorry to disturb you this late.」

When I walked into the room, Tina was floating around in her usual, ghostly and fluffy state.

「I’m terribly sorry about this. You see, because I am a ghost, I cannot really open or close the doors myself. I mean, it’s not impossible to do that if I use my magic power, but it’s a bit tiring to do that all the time.」

「Oh, no, please don’t worry about that. It’s nothing to worry about. It’s just a matter of simply opening the door. It’s nothing special.」

「Oh, how kind of you. Well then, please sit on top of the bed, if you’d please.」

I did just as I was told and I sat down on top of the bed.

Once I did that, Tina floated in mid-air until she was standing right in front of me.

「First of all, allow me to apologize for bothering you with this while it is also so late.」

「Oh, it’s okay, I don’t mind. Besides, you said that it was about something important, right?」

「W-Well, yeah. I guess you could say that.」

Standing right in front of me, the expression on Tina’s face changed to a one that looked rather serious and troubled.

For some reason, she was staring at me really intently.

And then, after a brief moment of pause she opened her mouth, and nervously said…… she opened her mouth, nervously…

「I-I was thinking…… would you like to make me yours, Rein!?」

「G-Gouah!?」

Hearing such unreasonable words coming out of Tina’s mouth, I couldn’t really help myself but to let out a baffled sound out of my mouth as well.

When Tina saw me like that, the first thing she did in response was that she got really flustered all of a sudden and……

Then she blushed heavily and panicked as she seemed to have finally understood the double meaning of her own statement just now.

「A-Ah!? N-No! That’s not it! That’s not what I meant! It really is not! It’s just that…… I mean, the words were all wrong, but the intention stays the same……? Ahh! No! That’s not it, either!」

「A-Ah, aah, y-yeah, I get it. I really get it! That’s right, of course! It was just that…… that came completely out of the left field, I suppose.」

「Aaahh, oh geez! For someone like me to make such a stupid and careless mistake…… Uuuhh, if there was a hole around here where I could crawl under, I would really like to do that just now. That’s how embarrassed I am right now.」

「Umm…… D-Don’t mind?」

「P-Please don’t try to comfort me right now…… I appreciate the gesture, I really do, but it only makes me feel even more embarrassed than before…..」

「Ah, umm…… M-More importantly, what was the thing that you wanted to talk to me about?」

At this rate I was afraid that the conversation was going pretty much nowhere, so I decided to give Tina a gentle push in the right direction. I knew that it was kind of forceful from me, but I really thought that it was something that needed to be done.

Tina also seemed to understand that it was something that was necessary, so instead of questioning it she just decided to ride along for the time being. So in the next moment she cleared her throat and opened her mouth once more, speaking as if nothing embarrassing had happened in the first place.

…… But that being said, her cheeks were still beet red with embarrassment.

「Umm, you see, this is…… Would you perhaps like to…… form a contract with me? Maybe?」

「A contract……? You mean, like with everyone else?」

「Yes, that’s right. From what you have told me, you must be one hell of a talented Beast Tamer, aren’t you, Rein?」

「Well, I don’t know about that part that basically says that I’m amazing, but…… Well, it is true that I have contracts with every Ultimate Species currently in my party.」

「Well, if that’s the case, would it be alright if I were to join your party as well? You have helped me so much when it comes to my own problems, so I would like to pay you back for that by being of use to all of you, even if it would be only for a little bit, and a little bit. I really want to help you guys out.」

「That’s … but are you sure about this?　You don’t have to go that far for my sake, you know……?」

「Yes, I am sure. I really want to do it. I want you to be my new Master, Rein. Augh, I mean, I know that I said “Master”, but that’s just my old habits. Because you know, I used to be a maid and all that. It doesn’t have any weird meaning behind it, I swear.」

Tina fumbled her thumbs and waved her hands while trying to convince me.

Was she perhaps thinking that the previous misunderstanding was not cleared yet?

I wanted to ask her about that, but I didn’t want her to embarrass herself even more, thinking that she would answer in some kind of strange or weird way.

But be that as it may.

A contract with Tina…….. huh?

I didn’t exactly help her out hoping that I would be getting something in return for that, but……

It seems that Tina really wants to do this.

「…… Alright. I understand. Well then, we are going to form a contract.」

「Thank you so much.」

「I should be the one thanking you. Thanks for all the help that you have given us.」

I then bit my thumb and drew a magic circle with flowing blood on the top of my palm.

「…… My name is Rein Shroud. I hereby make a new covenant and hereby make a new bond with you. With an oath in my heart, with hope in my heart, with power in my hands. Answer me: what is thy name?」

「…… Tina Holly……」

And just like that, the contract was made.

The same magic circle that was on the top of my hand was drawn on top of Tina’s hand.

「…… Is that all?」

「Yes, that’s right. It’s not like anything in particular is going to change but again, good to have you on board, Tina.」

「You’re welcome! Please treat me kindly!」

I tried to shake her hand and……

In that exact moment, my hand phased through Tina’s hand and grabbed only the thin air.

Tina and I looked at each other with a pouty face and then……

We both chuckled and laughed in a funny way.
