「At the current moment, the Guild is using all of its resources to investigate this Devil. As of now, we don’t know anything about its appearance or purpose, but…….the Devil is an opponent that seems to have destroyed an entire village in a flash and caused a large number of casualties in the process of doing so. It would be too optimistic to think that nothing else will happen because of it at this point.」

「Therefore, the Guild has identified this one as an Emergency Request. If we leave this Devil to roam unchecked, it could cause damage not only to Pagos, but to other cities as well. So, we will do everything in our power to deal with it. The main way we plan to do that is to form three squads of Adventurers that are going to work together and look for the Devil and deal with it if possible.」

「…… Nyaah? Three squads?」

「First of all, there will be a team whose job is going to be to investigate the identity and purpose of this Devil. Secondly, there will be a team whose job is going to be to find out how to seal the Devil once again. And then there will be the third team, that is going to engage the Devil in direct combat.」

So it’s not just about defeating the Devil, but also approaching its issue from all possible directions.

And the reason for examining the Devil’s background and purpose is to see if we can find some alternative way of dealing with it should the direct confrontation fail.

The reason for examining the seal is for insurance in case we fail to defeat it as well, as it was the method that seemingly worked once before.

I’m honestly not sure I would be comfortable involving everyone in this mess, if it was something that was just on me to decide.

It reminded me of my own hometown.

This time around, we do not know if it was the Demon that destroyed Pagos, but it surely must have been something equally as powerful and dangerous.

I could pretty easily imagine that whatever it was that happened at Pagos was more or less the same as the thing that happened to my hometown.

I don’t feel like this is something that we could possibly turn a blind eye on.

And if there are people in need out there, then we can’t just leave them to their own devices.

But if we were going to do this, I first needed to consult everyone and get their approval……

「We would really…… like for you to…… depend on us…… some more……」

I thought I was thinking of everyone else’s well-being but……

「I honestly think that we can take out a Demon or Devil on our own, or whatever the hell that thing will turn out to be. And even if it’s really dangerous, it doesn’t really matter.」

「I would say that all three teams will be facing an equal amount of danger during the course of this Emergency Request.」

「Yes, I think that Natalie-san is right here.」

The Search Team will naturally approach the Devil in order to find out about it, so there should be a certain amount of risk involved with that task.

The Investigation Team will be looking into how to seal it away, and it is only natural to assume that the Devil might try to interfere with that goal.
