So Iris must be strong enough to be able to travel all on her own without having to worry about anything.

Iris rolled her eyes all of a sudden.

Apparently, my words must have come to her as a complete surprise.

「You see, once people get to know me better, they no longer think that way ever again.」

「I don’t know Iris very well either, but…… I guess that it is precisely because I do not know you that I am able to say those words without holding anything back.

But…… Was that perhaps my imagination?

What is it about the innocence that seems to hide something so brutal and violent underneath it? And why is it that this trait is something that children usually show?

All of a sudden, Iris looked somewhere in the distance really intently.

The direction where she was looking towards was the same road that we had just walked on.

「…… Iris?　Is there something wrong?」

「…… Well then, I guess that this is enough of your escorting duty, Rein-san. I should be fine on my own the rest of the way. Thank you very much.」

「…… Do you live somewhere near here?」

「Yes, that’s right. So, I guess it should be fine with you leaving me here.」

I’m being lied to.

The rough breathing of men spilled out into the depths of the alleyway at night.

There was a lone woman who was being held down by these men against her will.

Her clothes were all disheveled and she was trying desperately to resist the men with tears welling up in her eyes.

But with the men holding her body firmly in place and blocking her mouth and preventing her from screaming for help…… There was nothing that she could possibly do to resist or to break free.

At that moment, something ran through the air around the back alley.

There was a short whistling sound of wind cutting through the air…….

And then, after a brief pause, something fell to the ground.

The man who had been trying to force himself onto that helpless woman looked to his side, feeling as though something was off all of a sudden. And what he saw there……

Was that this arm had fallen off.

The man spilled out a dumbfounded voice at once and……

Then he finally realized that his arm was gone, separated from his body.

「What!? Ahh…… Aaaaaahhhhhh!!! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! UWAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!」

Blood spurted out of the man’s opened wound with great force and amount.

The man rolled on the spot and a pool of blood quickly formed all around him, looking about ready to swallow him up.

While the men’s restraints on the woman’s body loosened quite considerably because of the shock in which all of them were right now, she got up and got away at once.

But, as if to fill in the void that was left behind when the woman ran away, a new figure appeared in her place.

「Fufufu.」

「Y-You……!? You’re that bitch from before……!!」

The one who made her entrance just now while giggling in a lovely manner was……

Iris. She appeared in front of the group of men, and had a wry and nasty smile on her lips.

However, her expression was cold. Ice cold.

The way in which her eyes were gazing down on the men was completely inorganic…… There was not even a trace of emotions behind her gaze.

「I have heard a commotion and a quiet voice calling for help, so I came here to check out what that was all about…… And yes, just as I thought, it was you who was behind it, you guys.
