Jizu village had already been attacked once.

We should do what we can now that we have time to prepare ourselves for the future events.

「I know that we are only the Investigation Team, but……」

Ax cast a quick glance at the villagers.

「There’s no way that we can just leave this place now.」

「Yes, that’s right. I don’t even want to think what would possibly happen to all those innocent villagers if Iris came back here after we left here……」

「We need to keep those guys safe until the members of the Strike Force manage to arrive at the scene.」

「Now listen here, Ax? When it comes to being a top-notch Adventurers, it is only natural that we do not exploit people and we do not ask for any reward for doing the right thing, right?」

「Ugh…… Yeah, I know, I know.」

After Cell admonished him a little bit, Ax had an indescribable look on his face for some reason.

Well, I guess that Ax’s actions aren’t entirely wrong here, either.

What we are going to do here is basically like charity, which is very different from the usual actions that the Adventurers do.

This time around, there might be a perception here that they don’t have to pay the Adventurers for their services.

If that happened all the time, it would only be natural that the Adventurers would get annoyed and that they would quickly go out of business.

I don’t think we can accept a reward from villagers in this situation.

Ax asked me that.

Even though he was hit by Cell’s bow across the head a moment ago, he already seemed to have returned to his normal and usual self.

Could it be that this was something that was happening so often that he was already getting used to it?

Just like that, we got approval from Ax and Cell.

I looked at everyone to make sure and they all nodded in unison, as if there was no problem with our future course of action.

「Well then, let’s focus on doing just that until our backup arrives. First of all, the team that’s going to investigate……」

「Cell and I will take care of that.」

Ax came forward while he said that.

「You see, we are really good at doing that kind of research.」

「Well, that’s actually surprising to hear.」

It was actually surprising to see Ax go along with that joke so readily like that and only realizing it about halfway through.

「Then, Sora and Luna are going to help out with this as well. It would be difficult for the two of them to do all alone……」
