「Thank you very much for coming here and resolving that crisis for us.」

「Oh, please think nothing of it. Actually, I should be the one who should be thanking you guys here.」

Saying that, Milua-san’s expression turned rather serious as she stared right at me.

「Tanya-chan told me all about it, you know? About just how much you did for her, and how hard you have thought in her defense today. Thank you for doing that, and saving my dear child. As Tanya-chan’s mother, you have my eternal gratitude.」

「O-Oh, oh no, please…… No need to thank me here. It was only a matter of course.」

After all, it was Tanya who had always helped me so much with various matters and……

So if I was able to repay even a small portion of that help and kindness that Tanya showed me, I would be really happy about that.

For some reason, Milua-san smiled at me when she heard that.

Getting swept into Milua-san’s pace and unable to break free from it, Tanya looked rather tired right about now.

I called out to everyone who was peeking into the living room from the hallway.

Kanade and Nina’s beast ears twitched in a panic and then moved vertically in a frantic way.

It was as if they were flustered, but also wanted to let me know that there was no problem with that at all.

「You can stay with us for a while, Milua-san. We have rooms to spare, so it won’t be a problem.」

「Thank you very much, Rein-kun.」

「Fumuh! In that case, I do believe that this situation calls for a welcoming party!」

Luna said so with a bright smile on her lips.

「Tonight, we are throwing a welcoming party for Milua-san! I am going to put all of my cooking skills to use here, so expect some pretty mouth-watering results!」

「Oh wow, this is going to be so much fun! I can’t wait♪!」

「Fuahahahaha!!! My cooking skills are the best in this entire world! Now go wash your hands and wait to be amazed!」

「Why are you making it sound as if you were going to go to war here!?」

We held a welcoming party for Milua-san.

The food prepared by Luna was served before long, and……

Kanade ate so much of it that she was quite literally unable to move on her own.

When I turned around, I could see Milua-san standing there.

She seemed to be slightly drunk herself, as her cheeks were slightly flushed red.

For someone as young as her to be drinking alcohol to the point of getting intoxicated…… Wait, no, that’s not right.

Milua-san was much older than me, so there’s nothing wrong with her drinking alcohol, even in excessive amounts.

I can’t help but be carried away by my own impressions that I get from her looking so young.

「Can I sit next to you?」

「Sure thing, go right ahead.」

Milua-san then sat on the ground right next to me.

A pleasant night breeze blew past us.

Somewhere in the distance, an insect was buzzing.

And the moon was shining quietly overhead.

It was a really peaceful night.

「Say, Rein-kun?」

「Yes? What is it?」

「Thank you.」

After saying that, Milua-san bowed her head deeply to me.
