Unfortunately enough, everyone else did not make it.

「Unyaaah…… This test was a lot of bull! There was no way that I was going to be able to understand all of those difficult-sounding questions!」

「Yes, that’s right. Besides, my intelligence is so immense that you cannot actually measure it with the help of some stupid written test!」

「Tanya, admit it: you are just salty about not being able to receive a passing grade, aren’t you?」

「No, that’s not it! I’m not as petty as that!」

「I mean, instead of giving up almost right away and going to sleep, you should have at least TRIED to solve some of the questions, you know?」

「Uguh!」

The moment when Kanade of all people hit Tanya with a sound and logical argument was the moment where she had no other choice but to face reality. Any attempt at retorting would only make Tanya look even worse than she already was.

And judging from her reaction, Tanya herself was also aware of the fact that Kanade was right here.

「I…… I did not get…… to pass as well. I’m…… I’m really sorry.」

「You don’t really need to worry about that, Nina. You also did you very best here, and that’s what is most important.」

「Yeah, that’s right, I say! See, we are also the ones who did not really make it, so don’t worry about it, Nina! Instead, you are now our precious little comrade!」

Seeing that Nina was clearly being depressed over the fact that she failed the written test, Sora and Luna went to lift her spirits up almost right away.

This means that we are really good at written tests, especially those containing general or magic knowledge, but……」

「When it comes to subjects such as human history, we tend to be really bad with those. And I guess that even if you were trying to give us a crash course on that, we would hardly even understand any of it.」

「Oh, yeah, that’s right. I guess that makes a whole lot of sense.」

Sora and Luna might be incredibly smart when compared to the rest of our group, but that knowledge of theirs is heavily biased since they were the members of the Spirit Tribe. And their circumstances were less than desirable, too.

I mean, it was honestly a rather tall order to expect the general knowledge of human history from someone who has been at odds with humanity for more than two hundred years. And some Spirit Tribe members were still holding their grudges against humanity strong in their hearts.

「But anyways, the one who was the most amazing here was clearly Tina! Even though I won’t lie that this came up as truly surprising to me.」

「I was kind of expecting Rein to get a pass from the written test, but I never would have expected for Tina to pass as well. Maybe I will have to seriously review my opinion about you from now on.」

「Oh wow, Kanade and Tanya, stop it. If you keep on praising me like that, I’m going to get really embarrassed.」

「Tina…… You are amazing…… good job. You are…… so cool…… ♪」

「Oh wow, not you too, Nina! Oh my gosh, now I feel really embarrassed!」

「But anyways, how come that you are so knowledgeable, Tina? Did you receive some special education or something similar to that?」

When it comes to Tina, she managed to clear even the super-difficult questions that even I managed to fail to answer.

As for her score, she managed to get an astonishingly perfect score of one hundred points.

Yes, that’s right. She did not get even a single question wrong.

For her to have such extensive knowledge on so many different subjects…… Just how did she manage to obtain it?

I was really interested to get to know that.

「Oh my, it’s not all that big of a deal, you know? You do know that I am a ghost, right? Not to mention, a thirty-years-old ghost at that.」

「You make it sound as if you were talking about food.」

「You see, when you are a ghost, you have way too much free time on your hands. And every time I was bored, I would turn to books and just read through them. So I just naturally learned a whole lot of things on lots of different subjects……」

「Tina…… You are really great!」

「Huh? No, I mean…… When you put it like that……」

Tina visibly flinched when everyone started to look at her with sparkling and twinkling eyes.

Her cheeks were also stained deep crimson with embarrassment.

「T-This is just knowledge that I have obtained for the purpose of killing time. So this is hardly something that I can brag about to those around me…… Yeah, it’s not really that big of a deal! So for you to be looking at me like that…… Ugh!」

「And now we have officially seen Tina being all bashful with embarrassment!」

「Fufun! Want to magically record that moment and preserve it for posterity?」

「Huh!? One hundred points!? Did you say that someone managed to obtain a perfect score on that written test!?」

「That’s nonsense! It cannot be! The questions that were put on that test were really difficult! Heck, some of those questions were so hard that even the Court Magician himself was unable to solve them……!」

「And here we have another successful applicant…… Just what is wrong with this party? Are they geniuses or what?」

Looking at the rest of the clearly startled and shocked examiners, Cell smiled lightly under her nose.

「I mean, since this is Ren’s party that we are talking about here, I honestly expected them to be able to do at least this much.」

Even though their ways parted in a way that was less than desirable, it was not like Cell disliked Rein and his party.

Quite the opposite, actually. She was still rather fond of that bunch.

And seeing Rein and the others being praised like that and having their abilities recognized by others, it was honestly making Cell pretty happy deep down inside.

At this rate, Rain and the others will be able to pass the A Rank Promotion Exam without any kind of problems.

Soon, Rein and his party would be promoted to A Rank, which would put them on equal footing with Axe and Cell.

When the time would finally come to congratulate them for achieving something like that, Cell was sure to be there, with a smile on her lips.

And if possible, she also wanted for Axe to be by her side at that time, so that they could congratulate them together.
