Beast Tamer Who Got Kicked Out From the Hero’s Party Chapter 235
CHAPTER 235: THE SEPARATION
「…… Ouch.」
When my consciousness came back up, I woke up with a dull headache.
I must have bumped my head against something when I was falling into that pit, and then I must have temporarily passed out as a result.
When I picked myself back up, I found myself surrounded by a thick blanket of darkness.
「Kanade? Tanya?」
I called out to my friends, but I received no answer.
「Sora? Luna? Nina? Tina? Guys, are you there? Hey! Answer me!」
My voice would echo around, but still there was no reply from anyone.
「Oh my…… It seems that we just got ourselves separated.」
I seemed to remember rolling all over the place while falling down the pit, so most probably……
That pit must have been divided into several smaller holes and passageways.
It must have been one of the traps set up to separate the forces of the possible invaders if they ever got inside of the fort itself.
For the time being, I took a torch out of my luggage bag and then……
「Fireball……」
Using the bare minimum amount of my magic, I was able to light the fire on the torch.
A small light was born inside of the darkness, dispelling its thick blanket around me, even if only for a little bit.
The place where I managed to land after my descent into the pit was some sort of a small room.
I could see that there were broken vases and pieces of furniture all over the place.
All of that, plus some other things like piles of dust and thick cobwebs and spiderwebs, but nothing else.
Straight ahead of me was a somewhat large passageway, large enough for three adults to walk side by side inside of it.
「Well, I guess that I have no other choice but to go forward for the time being……」
That being said, there might be some other traps laid ahead, but I couldn’t really allow that fact to stop me here.
Besides, I have to find everyone and reunite with my party quickly.
「…… Huh!?」
With a loud and crunching sound, I could suddenly hear countless presences approaching me at a rapid pace.
And before long, those presences were revealed in the light of my torch’s fire.
Those presences were that of huge spiders, each about thirty centimeters long.
Their fangs looked like spears and were unusually sharp and well-developed.
That was a D Rank Monster known as Chimeric Spider.
Since they were only D Rank, they did not have all that much of a fighting ability, and they did not possess any special abilities to speak of.
It’s just that……
There were a whole lot of them here.
One, two, three…… One after another, Chimeric Spiders started to spring up and come out from God knows where.
There were so many of them that I couldn’t help but wonder seriously where they were hiding until just now.
I then held my weapon at the ready……
「I’m going to go on the offense first, so you guys should back me up and…… Yeah, right. I forgot. No one else is with me here.」
I just couldn’t help myself but to call out to my friends, as I would always do.
I don’t know if it’s a habit of mine at this point or something else like that, but……
I just happened to grow accustomed to the fact that everyone was supposed to be by my side.
Come to think of it, regardless of the fact if it was intentional or not, this was actually the very first time that my party had been separated from one another due to some unforeseen circumstances.
「I’m on my own here…… huh?」
It may sound pathetic, but I was feeling really lonely right about now.
「I guess this goes to show just how much I have been relying on everyone’s help this entire time……」
Thinking about that, I felt like I would start to become severely depressed in just a few moments.
However, I couldn’t really allow myself to feel depressed right now.
If I was severely depressed over a fact like that, my party members would surely end up laughing at me afterwards, which would be really embarrassing.
「Alright, let’s do this!」
I once again got Kamui at the ready and psyched myself up for the interception of the charging Chimera Spiders.

「…… Kanade? Please wake up, Kanade!」
「Nnnhh…… Nyaah?」
Swaying and shaking, Kanade opened her eyes, looking all wobbly and groggy.
「…… Sora?」
「Oh, thank goodness, you’re finally awake.」
The one in front of Kanade was certainly Sora.
There was even a small, fluffy ball of light gently floating behind her back.
It must have been Sora’s magic from earlier.
「Ugh…… Where are we? What is this place?」’
It was a small room of some sort.
There was nothing in here except for a single passageway that was leading further ahead, located in the back of the room.
「It looks like we have gotten separated from the others when we fell inside of that pit.」
「I see…… Do you think that Rein and the others are alright?」
「I don’t really think that we need to be worried about that. Everyone is not so fragile as to be beaten by some random monsters that easily.」
「Yeah…… I guess that you’re right.」
Kanade agreed with Sora’s words with a slight chuckle.
She then stood up and patted her skirt in order to get rid of any dust and dirt that might have gotten onto her clothes during that nasty fall.
「Alright, then! Let’s just bust through the wall and rejoin the others at once!」
「No, no, no, no! You can’t do that!? Please don’t be so reckless just because you are so desperate!」
「Nyah? Why not?」
「Didn’t you listen to any words that Cell said during the test briefing? You were told that you would be disqualified for doing that!」
「Ahh, now that you mention it?」
「Ugh, this is going to be so tiresome……」
「Well then, I guess this means that we will have to look for our friends the old fashioned way, huh?」
「Yes, I’m afraid so. It seems that the ruins are equipped with a mechanism that interferes with the use of magic, and since we can’t use detection magic very well we have no other choice but to search on our own in the more traditional way.」
「Alright! Then let’s go! Follow me!」
「I knew it…… I have a really bad feeling about this……」
***
「Nina, is everything alright? You are not hurt anywhere, aren’t you?」
「Nnhh…… No, I’m alright.」
Tanya was walking through the ruins with Nina on her back.
Nina, being piggybacked, was holding a torch in her hand.
Falling into that pit……
The next thing she knew, she was alongside Tanya, with everyone else being gone.
Moreover, Nina seemed to have twisted her leg when she fell.
Unfortunately, neither Tanya nor Nina could use the Healing Magic.
Although Nina’s pocket dimension contained some medicine that Tanya used to give the girl some much needed first aid, it was not like Nina was about to get all better instantly.
The most certain way here was to have either Sora or Luna heal her properly.
Therefore, they decided to not choose to wait for help and go looking for others themselves.
「I’m not…… too heavy, aren’t I?」
「What are you talking about? Where did that idea even come from in the first place? You are as light as a feather.」
「Nnnhhh……」
Nina seemed to be a little embarrassed.
「I’m sorry…… Tanya.」
「…… Hm? Why are you apologizing?」
「I’m only slowing you down right now and……」
「Are you still worried about that?」
「I…… I do. Because we…… we are friends, and……」
「Well then, no need for you to be. I certainly do not care. Precisely because we are friends.」
Tanya said so in a cheerful voice.
「Friends are supposed to support each other in times of need, aren’t they? So I don’t mind at all.」
「…… Y-Yeah.」
Nina’s tail wagged happily as she was being piggybacked.
***
「“Lightning Strike!”」
In the very next moment, a huge lightning bolt came running through the small monsters nested in the corridor, killing them on the spot.
However, it was unable to actually kill all of them.
A few of them actually managed to dodge the spell and were now charging at the caster.
「First pitch…… And throw!」
Tina swung her arms wide over Luna’s head……
A lump of raw magic power was thrown at the remaining monsters.
It was like getting hit with a hard ball.
The raw mass of magic power caught the monster’s head beautifully and poof! As a result the monster’s head got chopped off its body.
「Fuahahahha!!! Weak! Weak! So weak! Is that all that you can do here!?」
「You can’t stop us like that!」
Luna and Tina were doing just fine, even though they were separated from their friends.
