Beast Tamer Who Got Kicked Out From the Hero’s Party Chapter 246
CHAPTER 246: THE CAPTIVE……
「Unyah…… NYAAHHH!!!!!!」
Kanade took a deep breath and……
As soon as she made sure to build up some power in one go, she kicked the prison door with all of her might, hoping to bust it down.
However, the prison’s door simply would not budge here.
The best that Kanade managed to accomplish by doing so was to make the door clatter loudly.
Instead, Kanade’s legs went totally numb because of the sheer force of the blow.
「Awawawawa…… My leg……! I can’t feel my leg……!!」
The pain and numbness that assaulted Kaande all at once were so great that even the tip of her tail quivered strongly.
Kanade then held her feet down while holding onto it.
Then she sat down on the tattered bed provided in the prison and looked up at the dirty ceiling.
She then let out a deep sigh.
「Haah…… I never would have thought that it would be so difficult to escape from this place. But if it wasn’t for THIS THING, it would be so easy to escape from here……」
Kanade looked resentfully at the locks on her neck and both of her wrists.
Because of these magical locks, she was unable to use her true strength to its full potential.
If she didn’t have these things on, she could have easily kicked through the prison’s door and just walked out of here.
「Rein…… I wonder if he is alright……?」’
***
「Ahhh, geez! Why do I have to go through with this!? I shouldn’t even be here in the first place!!!」
Tanya shouted loudly, being all alone in her prison cell.
Although she was banging on the door and glaring at the lock itself for quite a while now, the damned thing would not fall apart or even open.
And that only served to increase her frustration tremendously.
If only she did not have that magic lock and shackles on her, she would have been able to transform into her dragon form and went on a complete rampage that would surely get her out of the prison in no time at all.
Tanya was actually so stressed out here that even such a radical solution to her current dilemma was starting to look more and more fitting to her by the minute.
「I’m really worried about Rein, but…… I wonder if everyone else is okay, too?」
She thought about Kanade.
She concluded quite rudely that it won’t be a problem in her particular case, because she was surely behaving like a spoiled little child right now, rampaging across her cell.
Then she thought about Sora and Luna.
She then concluded that those twins, for whatever reason, would most probably be up to their usual antics, so that would also mean that they would be absolutely fine.
She then thought about Nina.
She was worried that in her particular case, the trauma of being imprisoned might actually come back to her and really cause her mental state to deteriorate.
She then thought about Tina.
However, in her particular case, she might as well have been engaging the prison guards with some small talk in order to pass the time here.
「I need to do something about this situation, but…… What is it that I CAN actually do here……?」
Tanya’s face turned dark and grim in an instant, and then……
But still, she didn’t choose to give up, and she kept thinking desperately about a way to break this current stalemate.
***
「「Ugh……」」
Sola and Luna were locked in a prison cell fit for two people.
They have spent most of their time together from birth until now.
If they were going to be separated now, then someone was bound to regret making a stupid decision like that, mark our words!
They managed to stay together like that even now, all thanks to threatening the prison guards with their really evocative descriptions of what they were going to do to them later.
However, since they were wearing magic shackles on their necks and legs, there was no way for them to be able to use magic.
They couldn’t escape from their cell, and they couldn’t find out what happened to Rein and the others.
Unable to do anything about their current predicament, they were simply lying in bed and doing nothing.
「Say, Sister Dearest?」
「What is it?」
「This bed is way too hard. Wouldn’t stone be better for a mattress here?」
「I think the stone would be even harder, you know?」
「Is that so?」
「Yes, it is.」
「……………」
「……………」
For a while after that, there was nothing but an awkward silence between the two.
「UDAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!」
As if the prolonging silence was too much for her to bear, Luna got off the bed and shouted loudly.
Then she pointed her palms at the prison’s door that were preventing them from leaving.
「I’m going to bring about your ultimate demise! “Ultimate End”!」
She then tried casting a Super-Class spell.
However, since her magic was sealed away by the shackles and the collar, the spell would simply not be activated and would end up being ineffective.
「Guuuoooaaahhh!!! If it only wasn’t for this stupid thing……!」
「Even if it wasn’t there, who in their right mind would ever want to cast a Super Class spell in a place like this!? If that magic had been successfully activated here, it would have been a terrible mess!」
「I don’t care what happens to people who do horrible things to Rein and our friends! They can all drop dead for all that I care!」
「Well, I agree with you on that, but……」
The sisters started to get more and more radical ideas by the minute.
Originally, the Spirit Tribe hated humans with a passion.
Just because Rein was the exception from that rule, doesn’t mean that Sora and Luna were so open to other humans as well.
「However, there’s nothing we can do about it now, even if we struggle a whole lot.」
「Do you mean to tell me that you are just going to sit and wait while being like that!? We have no idea what Rein and everyone else is going through!」
「Of course I’m not fine with that!」
「Huh?」
Luna freaked out and shivered when she was told off by Sora in an unexpectedly strong tone.
「I’m worried about Rein and everyone else too, but there’s no point in getting impatient here. We just have to be patient for now.」
「Sora……」
「But when the time comes I’ll do my best to lash out all of that frustration of mine…… I will make them all regret ever putting us through an ordeal like that……」
「…… Yeah! We are both going to make them pay!」
Sora and Luna never gave up, and in the depths of their eyes, small flames of determination were burning bright.
***
「Nnnhhh……」
Tina, currently locked up inside of a birdcage, reached through the gap and fiddled with the shackles on Nina’s neck.
Using a hairpin, she fiddled with it until she heard a quiet click.
However, the structure of the lock was complicated, and it was not something that could be easily unlocked with a mere hairpin.
Moreover, Tina herself was in a birdcage and couldn’t exactly move around freely.
It might have looked like a mere birdcage, but it was also a special tool that interfered with the magic of everything that was placed inside of it.
Since there were no magic locks and shackles that would actually fit Tina, they had prepared this for her in a hurry.
「I knew it…… This is pretty much impossible……」
Giving up, Tina let go of the hairpin.
Are you…… alright……?」
Nina looked at Tina while looking worried.
「I’m fine, I’m fine. It’s just that…… I’m just a little bit tired, that’s all. But are YOU alright, Nina? Doesn’t being put in shackles like that remind you of any nasty memories?」
「No, not at all…… Besides, I’m not alone. Tina is here with me, so I’m perfectly fine.」
Seeing Nina smiling at her, Tina felt irresistibly protective.
Even though she was going through this, Nina didn’t stop smiling all this time.
But how long would it really last?
If she was to be kept in prison all the time, she would eventually become physically and mentally exhausted.
Nina was still a child.
Tina did not think that she could endure this harsh environment for a long time.
She had to do something about it before Nina would reach her limit.
It was not just about Nina here, she had to do something about Rein and her friends as well.
They would probably be under the same kind of duress as Nina was right now.
Realizing that, Tina’s resolve grew even stronger.
She would never give up.
She would definitely go back to Horizon’s house together again with her friends.
「Alright, break’s over!」
「Tina……?」
「Just hang on. Now I’m gonna try a nail I picked up from somewhere before.」
Tina put the nail into the keyhole of Nina’s magic lock and tried to unlock it with a click once again.
Nina didn’t have anything to say, and she did as Tina told her.
However, she wasn’t going to give up, either.
She was trying her best to open the pocket dimension over and over again.
But because of the magic locks, it just wouldn’t work the way she wanted it to work.
Still, she didn’t give up and tried again and again.
She didn’t want to just sit still.
She was done with that, only being rescued all the time.
This time around, she was going to save Rein and the others.
With a strong kind of determination in her small body, Nina tried repeatedly to activate her ability.
