Beast Tamer Who Got Kicked Out From the Hero’s Party Chapter 25 Part 1
CHAPTER 25: THE UNWANTED REUNION PART 1
The Hero Arios and his group returned to the city of Horizon three days later after abandoning their attempt at conquering the Lost Forest.
The reason it took them three days to get back to town was actually because they had lost their way back and wandered around the forest, completely lost.
Until now, it had been Rein’s job to keep the route home memorized and have other possible routes at the ready if one of them turned out to be unavailable.
Now that Rein was gone, someone had to take his place in doing just that.
However, everyone assumed that it wasn’t their role to do that.
They all just assumed that someone else would do it for them.
Such a mindset of leaving the important tasks to other people led to a failure to secure the safe route home, a failure that any Adventurers who were worth their salt back there would have laughed at.
There was no way that the Hero would ever commit such a basic and stupid mistake.
It was the kind of failure that no one could ever get to know about, otherwise their reputation would be ruined.
Needless to say, Arios was really annoyed that they had brought such a situation upon themselves.
「God damn it!」
「Calm down, Arios. If the Hero himself and his companions are going to make such nasty-looking faces, the people around us are going to take notice and start wondering what is going on.」
「Shut up! Don’t say another word! How dare you order me around! Telling me what to do!?」
「That was not an order. That was just some good advice.」
「No, that was exactly what an order sounds like! How dare you! You are a mere Warrior! And you think you get to order me, the Hero, around!?」
「……………」
Aggath did not say anything to that, only clicked his tongue ever so audibly, just enough for Arios not to hear it.
Rin and Mina looked away as they watched this exchange between the two men.
They had nothing to do with it, so they didn’t want to get involved if they didn’t have to.
But they were actually thinking the same way Aggath did.
With Rein gone from the Party, Arios and his group were weakened severely.
But that wasn’t all……
Following Rein’s banishment, more and more small cracks started to form in the seemingly impeccable Party.
Even though the members of the Hero’s Party seemed to be completely oblivious to that fact.
「…… Oh well, it doesn’t really matter. Let’s just find Rein and be over with it. I mean, this is all about him, anyways. I bet that after we kicked him out of the Party, he doesn’t know what to do with himself, so he should still be hanging around the city, like a loser he is.」
「Yeah, I agree.」
「But that being said, this city is fairly big. It would be pretty hard to find one annoying little insect without knowing where to look for it. What do you want us to do? Search every single trash can or junk yard?」
「Why don’t we go to the Adventurers’ Guild? Someone over there might have some information about Rein-san, or spotted him recently.」
「Yeah, that’s right…… Let’s do just that.」
Just like that, Mina’s opinion and course of action was adopted, and Arios and his group moved straight to the Adventurers’ Guild.
Once they were there, they talked to the receptionist standing behind the counter.
「Rein-san? Why, yes, I do know about him.」
Honestly, the easy way in which they were able to obtain information on Rein left the entire Hero’s Party greatly disappointed.
Things haven’t been going all that well for them at all lately, so it was probably going to take them a while to find Rein. …… Or so they thought.
Fortunately enough, such bad predictions were completely off the mark, and they managed to quite easily get their hands on what they wanted.
But it was nothing but Luck at work here.
No, that was not it. It wasn’t just Luck.
This was what the Hero’s Party was all about, after all.
.
They were a group of supreme existences that ordinary people could never possibly hope to reach on their own.
They were humans blessed by God himself.
That’s why for such a stroke of Divine providence to come their way was something that could only be regarded as a matter of course.
It sounded like a bad joke, but deep down inside Arios was honestly convinced that this was indeed the truth.
「So? Where is Rein? Where can we find him?」
「Just this morning he happened to undertake a new request, and so he went towards the plains just outside of town.」
「Request? Did that guy become an Adventurer, by any chance?」
「Yes, that’s right. Shroud-san is a new Adventurer who’s registered with us not all that while ago.」
Arios almost laughed upon hearing that.
He was wondering what Rein would do after he got kicked out of the Party, but for him to become an Adventurer? How laughable was that?
There was no way that Rein’s levels of power and skill would allow him to do anything good as an Adventurer.
He was probably in a state where he was so desperate for food and a place to stay after his banishment that he would take on any kind of request, no matter how piss-poor it would be.
But that was actually perfect for Arios.
If Rein would be so desperate, it would only make him more susceptible to do what they would tell him to do.
That was the kind of a scenario that Arios predicted inside of his head.
However, they had on way of knowing that this assessment couldn’t possibly be further from the truth. In fact, Rein’s reputation within the guild was growing rapidly day by day by ensuring that his requests were always successful and perfect.
In addition, he has gained two trusty companions to his side.
Arios did not expect that to happen at all, and he was way too busy feeling good about his own misguided imagination to humor the thought that reality could be something else entirely.
When they were going to speak to him, they would do so in the most gentle way possible.
And after everything would be over and Rein would outlive his usefulness once more, they would kick him out once more, but this time around with even harsher treatment than the last time.
The thought of seeing the astonished look on his face, just like he did the last time, made Arios’s heart heart skip a beat in anticipation.
Arios was already feeling like he had won over Rein, and was even thinking of more and more ways in which he could relieve his own gloom.
「Could it be that you have some sort of business with Shroud-san? Are you perhaps going to make a personal request, just for him specifically?」
Thanks for the chapter! Can’t wait for when the hero party is the one kicked.
