CHAPTER 27: THE ULTIMATE SPECIES VS THE HERO’S COMPANIONS PART 2

「Talking so badly about Rein, that’s something that made me feel really mad! How about you reflect a little bit about your own actions and words!? NYAAAHHH!!!」

Taking a direct and powerful blow from the rage-fueled Kanade like that, Aggath was blown into the air like a ragdoll and went straight into a coma before he would even fall back down on the ground.

Tania was going to confront both Rin and Mina at the same time.

「Hmph…… So, you guys are going to be my opponents? What a shame. I really wanted to break that Hero’s face in for bad mouthing Rein so much, but…… Oh well, I guess Rein is going to be more than enough to handle him. So I can play with you for the time being.」

「Hey, just who the hell do you think you are, huh? For some random nobody, you surely are talking a huge amount of shit!」

「For a mere Dragon to bad mouth the Hero so much…… Dragon Tribe really are such arrogant, irreverent, and foolish entities.」

Are you guys honestly in any position to be calling someone out like that?

Tania was dismayed to her core by the shamelessnes that the two people in front of her were displaying.

「Let’s get this over with already. Come at me!」’

Tanya said while snapping her fingers, challenging both of them at the same time.

Normally she would only leave a snarky remark here, but……

As a matter of fact, Tanya had a rather high opinion of Rein.

She liked his personality and character very much, as well as his skill in taming, for he was strong enough to easily tame her, the member of the Dragon Tribe.

He was also willing to put himself in harm’s way if it meant being able to help someone else.

He told her at the time that she was important to him.

If you asked her about it directly, she would absolutely deny it all, but……

Inwardly, she even respected him as much as she did respect Kanade.

Because Rein was the Master who was worthy of Tanya’s faith and abilities.

And yet.

These people made fun of Rein.

And not only did they make fun of him, but they broke his heart and laughed at him like it was the most natural thing in the whole world to do.

And then they tried to use his kindness and sense of duty to take advantage of him even more.

There was no way that Tanya could possibly forgive them for that.

That righteous anger lit like fire inside of Tanya’s heart.

Tanya decided that no matter what, she was going to go all out right from the start and wipe the floor with those two as much as possible, and then proceed from there to teach them a lesson about their transgressions.

「You fucking dragon…… I am going to make you regret talking down to us like that! Behold my ability to wield a thousand spells!　”Gravity Burst”!」

「Let’s make her regret underestimating our power!　And then we can make her repent for her own foolishness. Gather around, o cleansing light!　”Holy Flare”!!!!」

Rin and Mina released two mighty advanced magic spells at the same time, their combined power being enough to blow even a hundred demons to shreds.

Black and white light accompanied the tide of destruction that danced around Tanya, as if trying to swallow her up.

However, Tanya did not panic, and she was as calm and composed as ever.

She did not even try to avoid the spells that were coming her way.

With a simple smile on her lips…… She just snapped her fingers.

With just that, the two magic spells disappeared as if nothing had happened from the very start.

Rin and Mina were both visibly stunned.

Tania, on the other hand, was smirking, as if she was enjoying the stunned reactions of the two.

「Hm? What’s wrong? Weren’t you guys supposed to beat me up, or something like that?」

「Let me join you, Rin! “Judgement Arrow”!」

Red lotus flames and an arrow of holy light shot out from the staff of the two magic casters and went straight towards Tanya.

The speed and timing of both of those spells were nothing short of perfect.

It was an attack that could not be avoided, no matter how hard someone would try to do it..

And yet……

Once again, Tanya simply snapped her fingers.

With that action alone, the magic cast by the two, disappeared.

「…… What?」’

「…… How!?」

Rin and Mina were both stunned again, repeating the exact same reaction as they did before, like a broken record.

Their reactions seemed to be exactly what Tanya was looking for here, as she burst out laughing without any kind of reservation.

「Haha, hahahaha!　No, seriously, what the hell are you guys even doing!? Are you even trying, or what!? Weren’t you going to defeat me? If so, then what the hell are you waiting for?　Hahaha, and what’s with the faces that you are making!? You look so stupid!」

「Ngngngh…… T-This god damned lizard…… What the hell did you just do!?」

「It’s called “Material Canceller”. It’s the spell that analyzes the target’s magical structure and cancels it out by hitting it with the appropriate magic waves. …… But let’s not get into some complicated explanations and magic stuff. In short, I used my own Magic Power to counteract your magic.」

「Wha…… T-That’s impossible! There’s no way that something like that is even real!」

「No way? Impossible?　Then how do you explain the phenomenon that just occurred?　Do you think a miracle happened and God protected me from your magic, or something like that?」

「T-That’s not…… This is……」

「For me, using the “Material Canceller” is but a child’s play. It’s as simple as snapping my fingers, as you could see thanks to that little demonstration earlier. That’s all I have to do to counter anything that you could possibly throw at me. And just to let you know, I’m not going to let you get away with this. You use such vulgar magic in such an ineffective way…… even some lesser spirits would be able to do a better job than you are! So how about we use that time to have some fun, hmm?」

Rin backed away in an instant, her face turning pale.

Mina shuddered all over and sat down on the spot, unable to move even an inch.

「What? Is that it? Have you completely lost your will to fight? Just from something like that? But, I’m sorry to say this. I’m not so good-natured as to let you off the hook just because you’ve lost the will to fight. Since you wanted to destroy me, then it’s okay for me to destroy the two of you instead, right? It’s okay for me to fight back and defend myself, right?」

「Hyiih!?」

「While we are being at it, I am going to show you something. A special kind of “True” magic. And just so that we are clear here, I am not talking about some mesley Advanced Magic. I’m talking about a higher tier of magic than Advanced Magic!」

Tanya turned her palms towards the two women.

An overwhelming amount of magical power then converged in the palms of her hands and started to glow.

A huge, three-dimensional magic circle unfurled in the air above their heads……

And then it began to slowly fall down…… Just like a meteorite would.

Its targets were…… Rin and Mina, of course.

「Hyiiih!?」

「R-Rin! Please, do something! Intercept it…… No! Destroy it! Shoot it down!」

「No, no, no, no!　Are you out of your fucking mind!? There is no way in hell that I can handle such a thing on my own! You do something, Mina! You know Defensive Magic, right!?」

「T-There’s no way that any Defensive Magic out there will be able to protect us from something like that……!!」

「Oh God! Please, God! Oh God, oh God, oh God! Please have mercy on us……!!! Aaahhh!!! Aaahhh!!!」

While screaming like mad, Rin and Mina clung close to one another.

Now, even though Mina would pray to God for protection, the reality of their current situation was quite merciless.

A three-dimensional magic circle landed on the ground and enveloped the two of them.

…… But that was only it.

The meteorite didn’t explode or cause anything like a natural catastrophe, it was just a flash of really bright light.

That was all. There was really nothing else.

However, Rin and Mina’s shock seemed to be quite severe, and they had fainted on the spot.

Looking at the two of them like that, Tanya laughs out loud.

Tanya smiled bewitchingly as she looked down at her opponents.
