CHAPTER 35: THE TWIN SPIRIT TRIBE SISTERS AND THE CONTRACT PART 1

「「Thank you very much for your help.」」

Having defeated the Shadow Knight in the depths of the Lost Forest, we managed to free the hostage and thus the Spirit Tribe twin sisters were reunited.

Expressing their gratitude towards us, both Sora and Luna bowed their heads politely.

「Thank you so much for saving Luna.」

「Thank you.」

「I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t for Rein and his companions. Really, if it wasn’t for your swift actions, Luna would most probably be……」

「Most probably, I would have been in a really tight and terrible spot…… To be more specific about that…… No, on the other hand, I don’t even want to think about it, or trying to imagine it. But surely it would have to be something really sleazy and lewd…… Something like this, or maybe something like that……? Hm? Oho, what’s this? Did you perhaps try to imagine that Shadow Knight toying with my innocent little body now? Kukku, are your male instincts about to run amok because of that, Mister?」

「Luna. Please stop joking around, especially not right now, when we are over such a dangerous situation. Also, it’s really rude and disrespectful to Rein and his company, who risked their lives to save you.」

「Oh, my dear sister, but I am not joking around! I am always honest and dedicated in everything that I say and do! But if I had to say, I guess that joking around is kind of in my very nature? You know? Like it’s in the fish’s nature to swim in the sea?」

「And that is why I’m telling you to stop talking in such a vulgar manner!」

「Nope! no can do! Can’t stop, won’t stop!」

For some reason, both Sora and Luna were presenting us the sisterly contrast between one another at full display, like some sort of comedy skit.

As you would expect from the twin sisters, Luna was almost like a perfectly mirrored image of her older sister Sora.

As if they were facing each other in a mirror, they were identical when it comes to height, shape of their small bodies and their hair styles.

Since they looked so much alike, I thought they had similar personalities, but the truth is …..

Apparently, their personalities were the complete opposite.

Sora was the serious, dedicated and diligent type of a girl, but her sister Luna was a complete maverick.
　
Of course, they had some similarities going on for them, but…… Yeah, that was about it.

But they seem to get along with one another really well, and when they met again, they hugged each other with tears streaming down their faces. It was a truly heartfelt moment.

I’m glad we were able to save Luna and bring her back to her sister in one piece.

I really am.

「Once again, thank you so much for what you did. I don’t even know what I should do to repay you……」

「How about both Sora and Luna pay you back with their bodies, hmm? How does that sound?」

「L-Luna!!!」

「Fufufun~! My dear sister, if a joke of this caliber is more than enough to make you feel embarrassed to this extent, then I am really starting to worry about your future. I mean, you can always kick a man in between his legs and run away in case of emergency, but…… No, really. Your little sister is really worried about you.」

「My future is none of your concern! Now then, umm…… Leaving Luna’s nonsensical remarks aside, Sora would really like to thank you all properly for what you have done for me. There may be only so much I can do on my own, but I want to help Rein and your friends as much as I possibly can.」

「Now, even though you say that…… Is there really anything that we might want at the current moment? Because I honestly can’t think of anything myself.」

「Not really, nyah.」

「No, I don’t think there is.」

When I questioned both Kanade and Tanya about that, they just shook their heads in denial.

Our goal here was to simply obtain the Shield of Truth.

And we have managed to accomplish just that.

So it was not like we really needed anything else in return for lending our help.

So the two of them really didn’t have to go out of their way just so that they could thank us for saving Luna.

「Really now, there is no need for you to show us your gratitude here. Besides, it’s not like we helped you out to get something out of it in the first place.

「I know, but still……」

「Well, if you are still hung up on this idea no matter what, then…… Yeah, how about you become our friends? How does that sound to you?」

「Your…… friends……?」

「Muh? Is that really all that you want from us? Because you know, the offer still stands! You can have both of us at once, and do whatever it is that you want to our young, sinful and alluringly bewitching bodies, you know?」

「Luna!!!」

「Whoa there, Sora! That’s scary! That’s a heck of a scary face that you are making right now!」

「Nyauh……」

「Rein, could it be…… Do you really fancy things like that……?」

「No, not especially.」

For some reason, Kanade and Tanya were staring at me really dubiously.

Just…… Just make sure that you won’t end up accusing me of something that I did not do, okay?

「Well, I don’t mean to sound rude here, but the Spirit Tribe people are very rare, they disappeared from the face of earth over two hundred years ago and that was it, no one has seen them since. So there’s a lot I’d like to talk to you about and I’d like you to be our friends if you’d like.

「……………」

「Is that a no, then?」

「No, it’s not that……」

Sora shook her head slowly and then smiled.

「Rein, you are a really strange human, you know that? If we were the ones in your shoes right now, we would surely want to gain as much as possible from this situation. Not to mention, you could ask us for as much money as you could possibly want, enough so that you could kick back and relax for the rest of your life. And yet, you want us, the Spirit Tribe, to be your friends…… If all humans were like you, Rein, we wouldn’t have to disappear all those years ago.」

「I mean, if it’s alright with you, we will gladly become your friends. Kukuku, or we can even be your “sworn allies” if that tickles thy fancy.」

「Oh, I should probably mention this, but when Luna acts like this, it usually means that she is trying to hide her embarrassment from others.」

「I-I’m not! I-It’s not like I’m embarrassed and I’m trying to hide it or anything like that!」

For a moment, I felt as if Luna had returned to her true nature just now.
