CHAPTER 45: REQUEST COMPLETED PART 2

「Are there any sights in this city that are worth seeing?　Because if they are, then Sora would like to see them all!」

「I am all down to have some fun in the general sense of the word! Also, I hope to grab something really sweet and really tasty to eat while we are going to be at it!」

Both Sora and Luna were also smiling.

Yeah…… It’s really nice to see all of them smiling and being satisfied like that.

Since our party grew in size to five people, I had to work even harder in order to get the money necessary for food and accommodation. It was really hard work, but it was also really satisfying. However……

I’d say it was just about time that fatigue would go and catch up with us.

So what we needed right now was some downtime, also so that I could reflect on a few things.

「How long do you think this will take?」

「Hmm, let’s see…… I’d say about a week or so.」

「All right. Well then, I will come back in a week to see the results.」

「Yeah, you do that. And I’ll be waiting for you with the fruits of my labor.」

After exchanging those promises, our group said goodby to Gantz-san and exited the store.

We went to a local diner that has become our most favorite place to eat and toasted with our drinks.

The fruit wine that we ordered was a fine drink with a really smooth and refreshing aftertaste.

Its moderate sweetness was also really pleasant to my tired body, helping me feel like I was regaining my lost stamina.

「Phew! It’s no exaggeration to say that one really comes back to life after downing a delicious drink or two like that!」

「Tanya, you look and act like an old man right now.」

「Nguh…… Nguh…… Nguh…… PUAH!! So good!　Can I ask for another drink?」

「Of course you can. Don’t be shy, just order as much as you want.」

「Oh, now you’ve said it! Just don’t try to take it all back later, okay?」

Luna’s eyes glittered as if she was some sort of predator and she just had found a nice and juicy prey.

「Alright then, first of all, I will take three more bottles of this fruit wine. And then I would also like some ale to go with that as well.」

「You certainly are going to drink a whole lot……」

「Is that a no, then?」

「No, I don’t mind at all. You sure you don’t want any wine, Sora?」

「W-Well…… Since you are offering, I would like to place the same order as Luna did.」

Surprisingly enough, Sora had also ordered a ridiculous amount of alcohol for one person.

Does that mean that they like it so much?

I just hope that they won’t get TOO drunk from drinking all this.

Kanade, as if being able to sense my concerns regarding that matter, said:

「Nyah. The Spirit Triber surely likes their alcohol, huh?」

「I-Is that so?」

「I have heard that because of the way they are, they can drink alcohol pretty much as if it was water. And yet, I have heard that no matter how much they drink, they never get drunk or hungover from it at all.」

「After all, almost half of the Spirit Tribe is made of alcohol, you know!?」

The way in which Luna said those words made me really concerned regarding the fact if she was joking here or not.

…… She was kidding about that, right? …… Right?

「Well, for the time being the thing is, you have nothing to worry about! You can just order as much as you want without holding back.」

「Umm…… Are you really sure that we can order as much as we want? Won’t this be a bother to everyone else?」

I could still see some reservation in Sora’s eyes.

I guess even though she was an adult in the Spirit Tribe’s terms, she still could not help it but to think and act like a child every now and then.

And since I really did not want her to look at me as if she was trying to hold back for my sake, I……

「Yes, it’s alright. No need to be shy or reserved, Sora. You can do whatever it is you want to do.」

「O-Oh…… I-Is that so……?」

Gently, I placed my hand on top of Sora’s hair and patted her head.

「After all, it’s a welcome party for the two of you, you know.」

「Sora and Luna’s……」

「Welcome party……?」

The two of them looked at each other blankly, and Kanade smiled at them.

「When we make new friends, it has become our custom to eat delicious dinner together! That way, everyone gets along with each other really nicely♪!」

「It’s a very simple idea, but an effective one, wouldn’t you agree?」

「We all had dinner together when Tanya just happened to join us. And even though Tanya says it like she doesn’t really care all that much, she is actually very happy for the occasion.」

「N-No, I’m not! I-I mean…… I’m not really all that happy, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t like it, either!」

「See? Doesn’t that show you just how great friends we all are in this party♪?」

「Well, that’s what I’m talking about. It might be a little bit late, but it’s a welcome party for both of you, so no need for you to be shy or anything like that. In fact, I’d rather you to be brazen.」

「Well, that’s a rather weird request. But it’s not actually so bad, I think.」

「Hahaha!　I’m confident in my ability to be brazen! I can be number one in the Brazen Championship if there was ever a thing like that!」

「What’s with that weird competition all of a sudden…… Also, Luna! I really think that you need to learn the meaning of the word ‘reservation’!」

「But only just now, Rein told us that we don’t have to hold back or anything like that! So I’m going to reject that proposal of yours and do exactly what HE told me to do!」

「Luna’s right, you really don’t have to hold back. We’re on the same side, so let’s not do that.」

「Rein…… Yeah, I understand. I will do just that.」

「That’s our Rein for you! You know what this is all about! And while we are being at it, I guess that I will also drink a share of that, Rein!」

「Well then Sora will take care of Kanade and Tania’s part as well.」

「I’m not very strong when it comes to drinking, but…… Oh well. I guess that sometimes it feels really nice to just let your hair down and go all out.」

「Rein, come drink with me. I’ll pour you a drink!」

「Oh, come on!　That’s what I was going to do!」

「Would you like me to pour you some, Sora?」

「I’ll do even more than pouring you a drink, okay? How about I provide you a whole lot of different services while we are being at it, huh, Rein?」

「No, I don’t really think that this is such a good……」

「「「「YES, THAT’S A VERY BAD IDEA!!!」」」」

For some reason, the four of us were strangely in agreement when it came to that matter.
I wonder why we are always in agreement when it comes to silly little things like that?

「People tend to get along better when they drink together, don’t they?　Nya, I wish I could get to know Rein even better……♪」

「When it comes to me, I don’t really…… What about you, Rein?　Well, we’re still friends, right?　You know, the kind of friends with whom you want to spend your time with all the time?」

「Sora would also like to have a drink with Rein. I’m not quite sure how to put it into words but she would like to be with Rein always from now on……」

「I’m the same as everyone else!　But you’d better watch out! If you decide to take it easy, I might get a huge lead on all of you! So no lounging about! That being said, I have to work hard, too.」

「What are you guys even talking about?」

「「「「This man is so dense, I swear to God……」」」」

Well, that’s what they are saying, but that’s okay, I guess? Anyway, let’s have a drink for today. Let’s make this a good time for everyone else to remember.

…… Sora and Luna’s welcome party continued late into the night like that.

We just continued to drink and eat away at the time……

It was just that simple, but I felt like our bond was getting deeper and stronger like never before.

I’m sure that’s because we are spending the same time together with broad smiles on our faces.

From here on out, I must make sure to keep up the good work for everyone else’s sake.

As I thought about that, the fun times that we had just continued.

　And then………

The nice party that we threw yesterday came at the cost of me getting a terrible hangover from it.

Yes, I need to reflect on that as well.
