「Oh, it was magic.」

「We put them all to sleep with a ‘Sleep’ spell. Fuwahahaha! Isn’t that amazing, or what!?」

「Y-You can actually use magic on people to force them to go to sleep……?」

Stella seemed to be visually surprised by the explanation that she just heard.

Oh well, it’s something that cannot really be helped.

When the two of them say that, forcibly putting people to sleep with magic really DOES seem like something so simple and easy, like if it was the most logical thing to do in the world, but……

Sleep magic is actually a higher tier magic that is classified as Advanced by human standards.

After all, it’s a spell that puts your opponent into a forced state of sleep and leaves them completely defenseless right in the middle of the battlefield.

In a sense, it’s something similar to a one-hit kill attack.

Because it would be a terrible thing if it was misused, few people know the structural formula of such advanced magic, and its exact shape and structure was never disclosed to the general public.

However, being able to use it was a matter as easy and straightforward as breathing for the two members of the Spirit Tribe.

「F-For you two to be able to use such advanced magic so easily…… As expected of the Spirit Tribe, I guess I should say.」

「N-No, it’s nothing all that amazing! Please, believe me!」

「Fufnh! Yeah, that’s right! Pretty amazing stuff, right? How about you praise us some more! Admire us more! Worship us!」

Now, even though Sora and Luna were pretty much identical twins, their reactions for being praised could not have been more different than they already were.

And seeing them both react in such a way, I just couldn’t help myself but to chuckle slightly under my nose.

「I am really sorry.」

All of a sudden, Stella turned towards Sora and Luna and bowed her head to them deeply.

「Hm? What’s wrong? What are you doing?」

「Muh? What’s this? I mean, I know that I told you to respect and worship us, but I never told you anything about apologizing completely out of the blue like that.」

「Umm, this is…… I, I have completely misjudged your power and capabilities. I have asked for your help because Rein told me that he still had some more companions who would support him no matter what, but I never would have thought that you would be able to use such a powerful magic like that…… I honestly thought that you might be just a pair of children, and I was looking down on you because of that! But now I see the truth…… You two being the members of the Spirit Tribe…… this means that the two of you possess power unlike that which humans could only dream of! But even so, I looked at you with contempt! For that, I am once again really sorry…… I apologize and I hope that you will find it in yourselves to forgive me!」

Yes, those were the kind of words that really showed us just what kind of personality Stella had about herself.

And if Stella kept quiet and all those thoughts solely to herself, there was no way that we would ever able to find out such things about her in the first place.

To go out of your way to admit that you were wrong about someone and then making a formal apology like that…… This isn’t something that an average person would be able to normally do, under any circumstances.

But as for both Sora and Luna, they seemed to actually like that kind of personality of Stella’s, and after a brief moment of silence they both smiled brightly at her.

「Please, Stella-san, raise your head. There’s no need for you to apologize to us. It’s not like Sora and the others care all that much about stuff like that.」

「Umu! Yes, what my Sister Dearest said! I like you, human! You might be just a human, but for one, you are surprisingly decent!」

「I am really grateful to hear you say that. But still, just a human? What does that even……?」

「…… Hm? O-Oh, yeah! That! I mean, how about we talk about that subject some other time, huh? Right now we have a job that needs to be taken care of, so how about we each do what we can do here, yeah?」

Yes, this was actually hardly the time to relax.

So it would do us good if we could end this conversation for now and move on to the next phase of our plan.

「Sora, Luna. And then you too, Kanade. I want you three to take care of the perimeter and be on the lookout for anyone who might try to escape from the warehouse. Be sure to catch them right away.」

「Nyan!」

「And you guys! Be sure to do your best to properly support them here!」

「Yes, ma’am!」

Just like this, Stella passed her orders onto her men as well.

「As for myself, Tanya, and Stella…… We are going to head inside and confront the knights in there directly.」

Originally, it was supposed to be just Tanya and myself who would go inside of the warehouse and beat the knights up, but……

「Oh, no you won’t! We cannot just leave all of the Knights Order’s problems to be solved by you and your group, Rein! So I want you to take me there with you. That way, I can help you out and atone for my own ignorance……」

She was asking us to let her come with us so earnestly that we eventually caved in and allowed Stella to accompany us.

I actually knew the feeling of wanting to help someone out but feeling powerless to do anything, so I was not really all that opposed to that idea.

However, since we had a plan to follow, I have asked her to follow my instructions at all times.

「As for the plan itself, it is just as we have discussed before. The first step is to get the enemy all nice and confused. Are you ready to do this?」

「I am ready when you are. Fufun. My arms are all itching to get some action really soon!」

「I’m fine to go, too.」

「Alright then…… Here we go!」

Under the cover of darkness, we quietly broke into the warehouse.

I had examined the information on its interior layout beforehand, so I had no trouble moving in the dark around that place.

I climbed the steel frames while trying not to make any noise and secured a good vantage point way above the knights who were on the ground floor.

It was a high time for me to use the specially made gauntlet that Gantz-san has made for me, the ‘Narukami’.

Because as it turns out, that gauntlet was far from being ordinary, with various useful gadgets and devices installed in it.

One of them was a device that ejects needles when you move it in a certain way.

One of the knights then used a magic that spawned an orb of light in the palm of his hand.

With that as my target, I took aim and ejected a poisonous needle from the inside of the ‘Narukami’.
