CHAPTER 73: THE DECISIVE BATTLE *3* PART 1

The combination blow delivered by Kanade and Tanya was able to take away more than one arm of the Demon!

「UUUUUUOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHH!?」

The Demon leaned back at once, holding onto the stump of its lost arm and let out a harrowing scream.

Meanwhile, Kanade and Tania landed safely back on the ground.

Neither of them were injured, and they were still on high alert, expecting some sort of counterattack from the Demon.

As soon as they found out that their target was still alive and well, they tried to jump up again to do a follow-up attack while the Demon was still wailing and flailing about.

「Kuh, kuku, kukuku…… Just now, you might be my enemies, but that was a truly magnificent blow…… Fascinating. Truly fascinating! However, since I was allowed to materialize in this world after so long, we cannot allow for the fun times to end here just like that! I still want to play with you some more! The shadow of the Demon started to swell and bubble once more, even stronger than before.

The smaller demons appeared one after another from the shadow, but their current numbers were something to which the previous summonings simply could not compare.

The entire area in front of us was dyed jet black.

「What the…… How!? How come that this thing still has so much power left inside of it!?」

「Rein, it’s trying to get away!」

A large number of small demons blocked the spell from ever being able to reach the Demon.

「Ahh, geez! There are too many of those things for my spell to connect! That’s dirty! That’s playing downright dirty, I tell you!」

「Then, all we have to do is to blow them all away at once with one attack!」

Saying that, Tanya shot out multiple Fireballs from the palms of her hands.

They rained down like rain and landed on top of the swarm of the small demons.

The following chain explosion managed to blow the small demons away, but……

「No way, they are still coming!? What is this!? Does that mean that it can summon them without end!?」

「Is such a thing even possible in the first place?」

Immediately after the small demons disappeared in the tongues of raging fire, new ones showed up to take their place.

There was no end to this process.

Fortunately, or actually, I don’t know if we could even call it that here, it seemed impossible for the Demon to summon any more of its minions.

However, the small demons that reached a staggering number of one thousand at once were acting like a huge jet-black wall, separating us from the Demon and preventing us from getting closer.

Perhaps the Demon has decided to switch onto the defensive for the time being.

It must have decided to pour all of its strength and magic power into summoning the small demons to create that jet-black defensive line.

That was probably why it had succeeded in summoning such a large number of small demons all at once.

Accompanied by a large number of small demons, the Demon soon began to move.

Neither the Demon nor the small demons attacked us at that moment.

When we tried to approach them, only the small demons on the outermost layer of the black wall would react to our presence.

I turned around at the sound of a familiar voice, and Nina ran over to me at that moment.

As it was, she jumped onto my chest with a loud POP sound.

「There you are…… Rein, I found you…….!」

「Why are you here, Nina!? And where’s Stella?　Are you by any chance alone?」

「It’s just that…… I also…… wanted to help you…… Rein……」

「…… Nina……」

「I know…… Up until now, I just…… I just allowed things to happen to me and the world around me…… not wanting to even try to do something…… But then I met you, Rein…… and that…… that gave me a little bit of courage…… Which is why… I want to help you out, too……」

Kanade, who was listening to the conversation while standing right next to me, made a surprised face.

「Umm…… I may be still but a child…… but still…… I am…… a member of the…… God Tribe, so……」

「Nyaah…… God Tribe surely is amazing. As for me, the only thing that I have going on for myself is punching and kicking.」

「You are you, Kanade, and you are fine, just the way you are. You wouldn’t believe just how many times you have managed to help me out when I was in trouble simply by being there by my side.」

I gently stroked Kanade’s head and then turned towards Nina.

「Do you think you could show me how to do that, Nina?」
