CHAPTER 94: THE CONFRONTATION PART 1

「Kanade, come with me! We are going to engage those two in combat! Tanya! Please capture the poachers once again! Sora and Luna, please guard the perimeter and be on the lookout for any kind of external threat! Nina, please assist Tanya in however way you can!」

Before we would even engage those two for real I started to give instructions to my party members, so that everyone would know what their role was.

And just like that, everyone nodded their heads and assumed their respective posts.

「Alright. Let’s go, Kanade!」

「Roger that!」

I ran forward with Kanade keeping closely behind me.

As we moved forward, Ogg swung his sword at us.

It was a sharp, quick blow.

As expected, the name of the C Rank Adventurer was not something that was going to be given to you just for show.
　
But I have fought against Arios the Hero, and even against that Demon recently.

Both of those experiences have raised my own skill level considerably higher.

It was not like I was going to allow an attack from a mere Adventurer to be able to reach me.

Twisting my body, I avoided the blade with plenty of time to spare.

The ensuing barrage of blows that followed up was also pretty easy to maneuver through, so I passed over them by getting down low almost to the ground level on the spot.

The sword swung by Ogg only managed to briefly brush against the tip of my hair, but that was it.

I ducked under the Ogg’s sword once again and then countered with my own fist.

「“Wind Cutter!”」

As if to fill the gap left by Ogg’s attack, Kreutz’s magic attack was released at us from the side.

A blade of wind flew towards us, cutting away the branches of the nearby trees.

It was a brilliant support that made up for the gap in his partner’s attack.

It was something that was only made possible because they have been partners for so long, and knew exactly how their attacks worked and what were their weaknesses.

But Ogg wasn’t the only one who had a reliable partner backing them up here.

「Nyan!」

Kanade jumped forward to defend me right away.

The shockwave created by Kanade’s super fast fist canceled out and counteracted the wind blade.

「You’re welcome!」

「Let’s keep this pace going! If we manage to keep this up, we are bound to take them out in one fell swoop!」

This time it was our turn to charge right in.

I started my approach by coming at them from the right.

Kanade did the same, but from the left side.

We ran in an arc, sandwiching Ogg and Kreutz from left and right.

「You little shits!」

「Don’t underestimate us! “Flare Arrow”!」

Ogg threw a knife our way.

At the same time, Kreutz fired a flaming arrow at each of us.

But there was no need for us to even bother with avoiding these things.

Instead, I just activated Narukami’s special mechanism.

Kanade picked up a reasonably-sized stone and threw it at the flaming arrows that were coming our way as well.

A stiff ball struck right through the flaming arrows, slitting them into smaller tongues of flames.

Kanade is a member of the Cat Spirit Tribe, which means that although she excels at physical combat she is actually weak against magic attacks……

But that doesn’t mean that she’s weak enough to be unable to handle something like an Intermediate level magic attack.

Really, what a nice and dependable companion she is. I’m really glad to have her here by my side.

「And now……」

Both of our fists managed to land perfectly on Ogg and Kreutz’s bodies.

As to where we struck them, those were two powerful blows directly to their stomachs.

A direct hit from my strengthened fist and Kanade’s Cat Spirit Tribe’s natural strength.

There was no way they could endure it, and Ogg and Kreutz fell to their knees on the spot.

As if it was going to be his last attempt at turning the tides of battle, Kreutz chanted his magic.

Kanade started to thrash about, but soon her movements became all wobbly and devoid of strength.

I am sure that this was not something that she intended to do here, but that it was the only thing that she was able to do under the current circumstances.

Seeing me being able to move around normally. especially after they saw that Kreutz’s spell surely connected with my body, Kreutz made a surprised expression.
