CHAPTER 99: THE ANGRY ASSAULT PART 1

「Who the hell are you people!? Do you have any idea whose house this is!? What do you want!?」

「Are you the ones who caused that commotion outside!? And what happened to the main gate!?」

「Thieves! We have thieves on the premises! Sound the alarm!」

As we stepped into the house, guards jumped out from all over the place and converged on our location.

They were armed with short swords, short spears and one-handed axes, and got us completely surrounded in a matter of seconds.

They moved really fast and were well coordinated.

It was a sign that they must have undergone a tough and rigorous training.

They certainly must have been surprised by the suddenness of the assault and the appearance of intruders, but they did not seem frightened by it.

All of them had their weapons firmly at the ready and were watching us closely, trying to figure out what our next move would be.

Assessing the situation really quick, each and every single one of those guys might have been as good skill-wise as a C Rank Adventurer.

THere was that kind of pressure that was emanating from them.

If we were to make an enemy of those guys under any normal circumstances, this could have gotten really troublesome really fast.

But…… we had to break through those guys if we ever wanted to have a shot at reaching Zipek. So that was what we were going to do here: simply push forward.

「Nina, stay close behind me. When the right time comes, I might need your support again.」

「…… Yeah.」

「Kanade and Tanya, the two of you……」

「It’s time to go on a little rampage!」

「Surely you won’t mind if I send those chumps flying out of here, would you?」

They seemed to be really motivated to do this, even without me telling them to.

They were probably as angry as I was ever since Tina shared her story with us not that while ago.

「Right, we will leave those guys to you. Just make sure that you won’t go TOO crazy on them. And no matter what, don’t do anything reckless. Make sure that none of us gets needlessly hurt.」

「Nyah! It’s okay. Because this time around…… I’m actually really angry as well, you know!」

「Just who do you think we are?」

「As long as Tanya and I are fighting together, we are virtually invincible!」

After they both said those truly reliable words, Kanade and Tanya charged right into the incoming guards.

「Kuh, damn it!? Who the hell are those guys!? Going against us like that!」

「It doesn’t matter! Just kill them all! All uninvited guests are to be killed on the spot! Master Zipek’s orders!」

「I don’t know just who the hell do you think you are, but you are going to pay for charging in here so foolishly like that…… Guoah!?」

Before the guard could finish his words, Kanade’s fist collided with his stomach.

The force of that blow was so strong that the guard’s iron armor actually caved in with a fist-shaped dent.

Needless to say, there are only a few people out there in the world who would be able to withstand the force of this powerful of a blow.

In the next moment, the guard whimpered and fell to the ground while writhing in agony.

「T-This little shit……!?」

「You have got to be shitting me!?」

The two other guards raised their weapons and swung them towards Kanade, thinking that they would be able to pin her in between them.

The speed of those swings. The timing of both attacks. This was what you would call a perfect combination attack.

However, none of those two attacks actually managed to reach Kanade.

Because Kanade leapt vertically on the spot. She managed to escape into the only space where those attacks would be unable to reach her — the air.

And then she spun around and turned upside down……

With a lot of accumulated momentum, she grabbed the two guards’ heads while using their shoulders as stepping blocks.

And then, with a loud *THUD!* the two guards bumped their heads together.

「Nyaaahhh……!」

With a light tap, Kanade gracefully landed on the floor.

Without missing that opportunity just now, the other three guards thrusted their spears out towards her.

Kanade, who had just landed back on the ground, was in a shaken stance, so it would be really hard for her to react properly and block or avoid those spears.

But if that was the case, then what could she possibly do to avoid the incoming danger?

「Unyaaah!!」

Grabbing the hilt of the two incoming spears with both of her hands……

Kanade managed to catch the tip of the third incoming spear with her teeth, locking it firmly in place and stopping it from going any further.

Needless to say, witnessing a feat that was basically impossible to pull off by any ordinary human, the remaining guards became frightened and instinctively took a step back.

In the meantime, Kanade regained her proper stance and was ready to charge in again.

「Anyone who dares to stand in our way……!!」

With a tremendous amount of speed, more than enough to make her movements seem invisible to the eye of the normal onlooker, Kanade managed to get in front of the rest of the guards.

With a shudder, she grabbed one of them by the legs with both of her hands and effortlessly lifted him up.

And then……

「…… Is going to be disposed of!」

She started to spin around on the spot.

Using the captured guards as a club, she cleaved down the enemies who were standing in front of her one after another.

It was a truly absurd sight to behold.

I don’t think that there would be anyone insane enough out there to think about using the enemy troops as a sort of makeshift weapon.

“If you don’t have a weapon on you, just use the enemy as a weapon!”

I felt like I could almost hear Kanade saying that particular line out loud.

「Tch! I can see that you guys are as pathetic as always! Disappointing!」

A large man appeared from the back of the room, coming to the front of the fear-struck guards.

It was only a raw estimate, but he seemed to be about two meters tall?

His entire body was covered in armor of thick and hard muscles, and it might have been more appropriate to call him a troll or an ogre rather than a human being.

Perhaps he was also the head of the guards here, seeing how much he was looking down on all other guards.

「I am going to take care of this one. Kanade, you go on ahead and clean the rest of the path up ahead!」

「Aye, aye, sir!」

Calling out to Kanade, who was still spinning around in circles and swinging that one guard at all others in a big way……

Tanya turned around to face the big man all alone.

「Those horns and tails on you…… You wouldn’t happen to be a member of the Dragon Tribe, would you?」
