Episode 14: The S-Class Dormitory Residents
When I woke up, I found myself being hugged by Selen-sama.
It was only natural since we slept together, but being embraced face-to-face like this was a bit embarrassing…
Unable to move, I had no choice but to stare at Selen-sama’s face, so I decided to do just that.
As I gazed at her, admiring her beautiful blonde hair and well-defined features, I thought to myself how cute she looked.
Suddenly, our eyes met, and we both let out an “Ah!” in surprise, our cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
「Good morning. Have you been looking at my face the whole time?」
「Uh, yes… Your sleeping face was just so cute…」
「Ren, you can say such embarrassing things so casually…」
「Well, I did feel embarrassed, but I was just being honest…」
The atmosphere started to feel a bit awkward, so I thought I’d change the subject by suggesting we go to breakfast.
「Selen-sama, shall we go for breakfast? I’m starting to get hungry (laugh).」
「Y-yes, let’s go to the dining hall. The other S-Class students might be there too.」
After quickly changing our clothes, Selen-sama and I headed to the dining hall.
There were already a few people having breakfast, so Selen-sama greeted them and introduced me at the same time.
「Good morning, Senpai. This is Ren, who is starting this year along with me. Since we share the same name, please call her Ren.」
「Ah, so you’re the one everyone’s been talking about, the first commoner to make it into S-Class! I’m Maryune, a fifth-year. Nice to meet you.」
「My name is Selen. Please call me Ren. It’s a pleasure to meet you.」
「Hehe, you don’t have to be so formal♪ We’ll be living in the same dormitory from now on♪」
She was such a kind senpai, which was a relief. I had been worried about being bullied for being a commoner, but now I felt reassured♪
After that, I continued to greet and introduce myself to the senpai who came in for breakfast.
The S-Class has 20 students per grade, but there were only a few people in the dining hall.
Curious, I asked Selen-sama about it.
「There are 20 students in S-Class, but most of them are boys. For us first-years, it’s just you and me.」
It seems that the number of girls who make it into S-Class is typically only about five, and often it’s just one or two.
I’m really glad to be in the same year as Selen-sama.
Our relationship is off to a good start, and it looks like these five years are going to be a lot of fun!

Episode 15: The Entrance Ceremony
Two days after moving into the dormitory, it was time for the entrance ceremony at Tiarad Academy.
I really love the uniform, which features a light blue blazer and skirt. It’s super cute♪.
The academy’s emblem is on the right chest, and the S-Class emblem is on the left.
As I walked with Selen-sama towards the auditorium, Prince Slaine noticed us and called out with a smile.
「Hey, the two Selens. I look forward to being classmates with you starting today♪」
「Slaine, please call me Selen and her Ren. Otherwise, it’s going to get confusing, don’t you think?」
「Ah, I see, I understand. Then, once again, I look forward to spending time with both Selen and Ren.」
「「Likewise.」」
With a prince on one side and a princess on the other, it was an unusual sight, and we were definitely standing out… I felt embarrassed.
Despite my feelings, we reached the area where the new students were supposed to wait, took our seats, and waited for the ceremony to begin.
The entrance ceremony was attended by the new students, the fifth-year students who were now the seniors, and the families of the new students, along with various distinguished guests.
My mom wasn’t here this time. I imagine it would have been intimidating for a commoner to attend this event.
After all, the Emperor himself was here, watching the ceremony from the guest seats, as his two princes and princess were being admitted (sweat).
After a while, the ceremony began with a speech from the headmaster, followed by introductions of the board chairman, the court training officer, and the guest participants.
The ceremony felt like it went on forever, to the point where I wondered, “Will this ever end?”
Finally, the Emperor took the stage and gave us some words of encouragement.
The phrase that stuck with me the most was this:
「More than the effort it took to enter this academy, I want you to focus on the effort you will put in while you are here. Strive to improve every day!」
In this world, Tiarad Academy is the highest level of education, so once you graduate, you’re expected to take on a job of some kind.
If you understand the meaning of the Emperor’s words, you’ll realize what you need to do.
As for me, I’ll work hard to defeat the Kingdom of Leone, restore the Holy Kingdom of Sylvania, and strive for a world where humans and monsters can coexist.
With the Emperor’s speech finished, the entrance ceremony came to an end.
The new students were instructed to move to their respective classrooms, and the S-Class was the first to move.
As we walked, I could hear faint whispers around me…
「So, that’s the commoner girl everyone’s been talking about.」
「Did she become the princess’s servant or something? She seems to be quite favored.」
「I saw her talking with the prince, too. She must be using her looks to get by.」
Hearing such unpleasant comments was disheartening… But then Selen-sama acted.
「You’re all jealous because you’re inferior to Ren, aren’t you? Instead of trying to hurt her with baseless words, why don’t you work hard like she does and surpass her? I realized after losing to Ren that if you put in the effort, it doesn’t matter what your status is, you can achieve great things! If you’re frustrated, then do as the Emperor said and work hard! Ren, let’s go!」
With that, Selen-sama took my hand and led me to the classroom.
Even though those words were about me… Selen-sama genuinely got angry on my behalf.
I was so, so happy… I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude toward her. (Thank you…)

Episode 16: S-Class
With Selen-sama still holding my hand, we arrived at the S-Class classroom, and we took seats next to each other.
「Selen-sama, thank you for earlier. I was really happy that you stood up for me.」
I expressed my gratitude to Selen-sama.
「I can’t stand it when people say baseless things like that. Though, to be fair, I did mess with you during the entrance exam, didn’t I? (laugh)」
Despite the anger in her expression, Selen-sama suddenly laughed as she recalled the entrance exam.
I realized just how straightforward she really is.
After a while, the other students settled into their seats, and then the classroom door opened, and a man walked in.
「Everyone’s seated, I see. I’m 【David Reiback】, and I’ll be in charge of the S-Class. I’ll be teaching martial arts. I’m strict, so be prepared!」
「「Yes, sir!」」
With a towering frame over 2 meters tall and a scar on his forehead, his presence was incredibly intimidating…
My first impression was, “He’s going to be terrifying when he gets angry”.
「Also, just because you’re in S-Class doesn’t mean you’re safe for the next five years! If your grades slip, you could be demoted to A-Class, so work hard! Now, I’ll announce the rankings.」

Among the people I know, Prince Slaine ranked 2nd, Selen-sama 4th, and Cantera 7th.
Everyone’s so talented. I hope we can all stay in the same S-Class for the entire time.
Once the ranking announcement was over, the day’s schedule was complete.
「That’s all for today. Classes start tomorrow, so make sure you’re prepared. Dismissed.」
「「Thank you very much!」」
With those words, the teacher quickly left the classroom.
「Ren, are you heading back to the dorm?」
「Yeah, I don’t really have anything else to do, so I guess I’ll head back.」
Since there wasn’t much else to do, I decided to return to the girls’ dorm with Selen-sama, but Cantera called out to us.
「Hey Selen, why does Princess Selen call you Ren?」
「That’s because we share the same name.」
「Yeah, that’s it. It would be confusing if we both called each other Selen, so I’m called Ren. You can call me Ren too, Cantera.」
「Got it. Well then, see you tomorrow, Ren.」
Satisfied with the explanation, Cantera smiled and waved as he walked away.
「Selen, how about having dinner at the central dining hall with Ren today?」
「Oh, Slaine, it’s rare for you to extend an invitation.」
「Is it? Would it be alright if I made a reservation for the sixth hour?」
「Sure, that sounds fine.」
Having dinner with both Prince Slaine and Selen-sama… just thinking about it makes me nervous (sweat).
On the way back to the girls’ dorm, I asked Selen-sama a question.
「Should we wear our uniforms to dinner?」
「I think casual clothes would be better. Wearing the uniform all the time feels too formal. Let’s change before we go.」
「I only have simple dresses, nothing fancy. Will that be alright?」
「I have similar things, so it’ll be fine.」
I’m relieved that it doesn’t have to be anything too fancy…
After returning to the girls’ dorm, I relaxed in my room for a bit until Selen-sama came to get me, and then we headed to the central dining hall where Prince Slaine was waiting.
