Volume 5 Chapter 29: Interdimension
Strong winds blew toward me as I continued running atop the dragon’s body.
A short while later.
「I’ve found it…」
I spotted the endpoint of the Ouroboros’ body—the first head, with its black horns.
The first head, its mouth oozing dark, stagnant mana, seemed aware of my approach.
「…!!」
It sensed me coming, as its eight eyes narrowed slightly.
Then it started twisting its body even more forcibly, but—
「There is no way I’d fall just because you shook your head a bit…」
I’m well accustomed to riding dragons.
A slight wobble beneath my feet is nothing to worry about.
And so I continue running just like that.
「You’ve spent too much time at home, time to take a walk outside, Ouroboros. I’m ringing the bell…」
Just a few meters from the first head, I ring the spirit bell five times, as I promised with Lorie.
And in that moment—
—CRACK
A shimmering crack appeared beneath me, revealing a familiar shore.
An exit leading to the Spirit Realm.
「OOOO…!!」
The first head panics as it sees the spirit realm’s exit opening near it, thrashing its body and flailing wildly.
「Looks like it really doesn’t want to step outside…」
But we can’t have that.
I take a bit of a distance, leaving off the thrashing Ouroboros and land on the Spirit Road that formed slightly above.
From there, I glance down.
At the Ouroboros and, and at the exit behind it. With us positioned like this, I prepare to unleash—
「Dragon Kick followed by another Dragon Kick…!」
A two-part combo kick aimed to send this dragon flying.
With momentum, I slam my foot into the Spirit Road and launch down—
「Now, let’s deliver part of that huge body into the other world!」
With my strength and the added power of my skill, I kick the neck of Ouroboros with all my might.
「—GRAAAAH!?」
The force sends its head downward. Straight toward the exit, crafted by the Spirit Princess.
And as its head collides with the exit—
—CRACK
A sharp, breaking sound echoes through the air.
The world itself fractures before my eyes.
Thus revealing before me—
「The sky above Imbolc…」
Yes, I’m now soaring high enough to see the entire city laid out below.
「My friend, this dragon found quite a high place to hide, huh.」
「Yeah, hiding in the sky like this… What a bold fellow.」
As I speak, I keep my eyes on the Ouroboros below.
It raises its head, twists it, glaring at me with all eight eyes—
Eyes filled with clear malice and hostility.
「This is where it gets serious. It may be falling now, but don’t let your guard down.」
「Of course, my friend!」
Standing on the back of Ouroboros, I draw my sword.
「Now, Ouroboros. I’m going to deliver you defeat under the skies of the Spirit Realm.」
