Chapter 157 — Part 2
The fact that the invaders had defeated the defensive forces one after another, was conveyed to the temporary owner of the facility through the AI, but the man only got more annoyed and ordered for the invaders to be eliminated.
The AI foolishly followed the rough plan given to it by this man. If the intruders can be repelled, then the remaining forces can celebrate grandly later without needing to think about defending the facility.
In addition to the small sized floating tanks and the battle androids that had just appeared, there were now almost 300 of them in total. The intruders were surrounded on all sides, and with firepower concentrated on them from a distance, there was nowhere for them to escape, and nothing they could do as they would be eliminated.
After a few minutes, the AI put the simple but effective plan into action.
Then ten minutes after that, the man looked through the AI’s report regarding the elimination of the invaders, stood up while knocking over his chair, and then began to shout insults.
「You inherited that much power, and had all the homunculi I made, and you still couldn’t finish off a single one of the intruders!?
Damn it, damn it, damn it, is that all the Celestial Beings’ inheritance is, a relic of a declining era? No, that can’t be, I know what it is.
If something from a dead era is no good, then we won’t we be unable to revive Lielle, no, no, that can’t be」
The man raised his voice in an emotionally unstable manner, and he bit the nail on his right thumb as he paced around the spacious room while lost in thought.
Most of the automatic defensive forces were destroyed by Dran and the others, and it would take several years to replenish them with just the materials and the factory within the facility.
For the man, he didn’t care about the fighting power that was lost, but now, the fact that they hadn’t been able to deter the invaders was a big problem.
For a while, the man stayed submerged in his sea of thoughts, then he made up his mind and raised his face to look at Lielle, sleeping inside an oval shaped device, and spoke up emotionally.
「Ah, Lielle, Lielle. My precious Lielle. My beloved Lielle. It’s alright, it’s alright. It’s going to be alright.
All of those guys out there trying to put a close to our bright future, I’ll take care of them for you. Anyone who would do something as terrible as get in the way of our reunion, I will punish them.
Ah, it’s good that I made those things for a time like this. They’re only ever useful for times like these, but that’s exactly why I’ll have them fulfill their purpose now」
The man quickly left the room and headed toward a different room on the same floor. It’s the room where he keeps the byproducts of his research, the research of using the Leyline’s power to revive Lielle.
After a retina, vein, DNA, and magic scan to confirm his authentication, the door finally opened, and the lights turned on, illuminating the interior of the room.
There were four giant cultivation tanks inside the room, each filled with a greenish liquid, and had completely naked men and women floating inside.
With ages ranging from their teens to their thirties, they were artificially created humans made for usage in experiments on the effects of the Leyline on the human body, and for revival.
Most of them were discarded or reused, but only the four sleeping here were not what the man wanted, but rather they succeeded in gaining the benefits from the Leyline, and so they were spared from their fate of destruction.
The man operated the console on the desk of the cultivation room, and ordered the four people sleeping in the cultivation tanks to awaken.
With the green culture fluid dripping off their whole bodies, the four superhumans opened their eyes slightly. They were artificial humans, but at the same time, they could also be called man-made superhumans.
Due to the small magic tools implanted into their brains and imprinted onto them during their time of creation, these artificial superhumans were sworn to absolute obedience to the man. He spat out his orders with an angry color of vermillion on his morbidly pale face.
「People who would stand in my way have arrived here. The information has already been imprinted in your brains, so you should already know what kind of people they are.
As your Creator, I command you. Use all of your powers to dispose of these nuisances. However, take care to avoid damaging the facility. Got it, you have to kill every last one of them. If you do, then I will grant all of you your freedom」
The man wasn’t thinking that he wanted them to leave, all he could think about was that he wanted to get rid of the nuisances as quickly as possible.
The superhumans got up from the cultivation tanks, opened up the glass covers, and climbed outside. The backup reserve of homunculi that the man had beside him approached them, wiped their wet bodies, and carried in a wagon full of an array of armored clothing and weapons, which were similar to the heavy full-body armor passed down by the Celestial Beings.
「Use whichever weapons and armor you like. You were created using the power of the Leyline, the very life of this planet, and you are stronger and far superior to even heroes. There is no way you shouldn’t be able to repel these invaders.」
The man made these artificial superhumans based on the homunculi used during the experiments to revive Lielle and from the genetic information stored in the facility.
This genetic information that the man used came from soldiers in the society of the Celestial Beings who built this facility, soldiers who showed particularly outstanding abilities, as well as from other individuals of high potential.
The genetic information was stored as a remaining result of the Celestial Beings’ plan to recreate the best characteristics of individual soldiers, in other words, they wanted to create an army of cloned soldiers.
Rather than an army containing multiple people of varying skill levels, they thought a unified army of clones filled with soldiers with the best physical characteristics for each needed purpose would be more powerful than an army of normal humans.
However, the clone soldiers’ growth took just as much time as conventional humans, but the downside is that if they accelerate their growth, then the clones’ bodies and life spans would be shortened.
If the cost of using the clone soldiers is compared to the military power they offer, it was found that it would be more efficient to replace their bodies with machine parts and magical materials, changing them into cyborgs, androids, golems, and robots, and so the idea was abandoned.
The man did not know about the circumstances under which the genetic information was stored, but he was determined to use it as a pawn under his control.
In fact, since they were created using the power of the Leyline, they have become far more powerful than the original people they were based on.
They, who were about to finally see the light of day as biological weapons, donned the equipment that was prepared for them, and then lined up in front of the man in an orderly fashion.
Standing before them, who were all varied in both gender and age, the man smiled. It was a smile like that of a child’s when he is proud of his toy and showing it off.
「Good, good, good, now then, kill them. Go and kill them all!」
