Chapter 164
「Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa」
Lenia repeated her restless-sounding “whoa’ five times in the face of Dreadnought.
After Christina introduced Dreadnought to us, Lenia showed her face in the bathhouse break room, and then before we could even tell her about Dreadnought, it seems she knew by intuition that the girl with the light pink colored hair was the abominable sword who had killed her father, me, and killed Lenia herself.
The moment Dreadnought came into Lenia’s field of view, the big smile which she had directed at me twisted into a smile so villainous, it was a wonder she wasn’t covered in blood.
Lenia, with her arms folded, was emitting a presence so vicious, that it would shatter the soul of anyone with weak mental strength the moment they witnessed it.
If it hadn’t been for us being in the break room as well, then this would have turned into a situation much more dangerous than even a low ranking demon lord or evil god descending to this place.
「I’ve let you go so long as you were still hanging at Christina’s hip as a sword, but I don’t care what the circumstances are.
Why have you appeared before my father and myself in this extremely bizarre form?」
In regards to Dreadnought and Christina, who had inherited the sin of killing the Ancient Celestial Dragon, I had forgiven them out of a sense of indebtedness, so up until now, Lenia had never said anything. But it seems she had many opinions and things to say about Dreadnought awakening and moving about.
Christina took a step forward to protect Dreadnought, and then spoke to Lenia with a streak of cold sweat running down her temple.
「Lenia, I’m sorry to make you come out all this way. From the looks of it, you seem to have already guessed what I called you here for」
「Hmph, I know exactly what that thing standing behind you is. I also understand that one of your goals was for that thing and me to meet. But I don’t know what you want me to do about it, after meeting that thing」
Lenia’s words were filled with her usual viciousness, but not a fragment of ill will. They were simply filled with viciousness alone this time.
If Lenia had forgotten to restrain herself just a little bit, then her maliciousness, that of a higher being, would have brought death to all the living things in this area.
I felt a twinge, no, a pang of frustration in my heart, that I hadn’t talked to Lenia about this beforehand.
It would have been good if I could have prevented any damage that might spread to the surroundings, but there’s a limit, even for me, on what I can do for the feelings that Lenia held.
「There might not be a need to say it now, but this girl is Dreadnought.
I only met her for the first time in this human transformation just last night, but she said she wanted to talk to me, to Dran, and to you, Lenia. That’s why I called you here」
「Fumu, by the looks of it, that talk with Father already happened. So? What do you have to say to me or my father, after all this time?
If it’s something that you need your wielder, Christina, to introduce you to us for, then I have no idea what it could be. As for me, I have nothing to say to you, Dreadnought.」
The atmosphere in the break room, which had been tense and prickly this whole time, was now approaching an atmosphere so brutal, words could not possibly be enough to describe it.
And then from right next to me, Selina, who was watching the situation unfold with panic, suddenly opened her mouth to speak.
「Dran, I think Lenia is irritated because she feels like, “I would have just let it go if you’d just stayed quiet, but now here you are showing up.” What do you think about this?」
「Selina, your guess is most likely correct. So long as Dreadnought remained as a sword, then Lenia would have been able to restrain herself.
But now that she’s shown up like this, behaving in a way that shows her own will, and that she’s even trying to do things on her own, the chain of patience that Lenia had finally snapped」
「Hmm, probably, Christina thinks it’ll be okay, but since Lenia doesn’t know what Lenia is trying to do, it’s a little scary」
Since Lenia was in a critical state, Selina instantly cast magic to protect Christina and Dreadnought, and Dramina also did the same.
On one side, sacred weapons are being deployed, in addition to restraining and defensive magic, while on the other side, Dramina’s mind and awareness was spinning with trying to protect Christina and everyone else, as she tightly bit her own lip in helplessness.
「With Selina and myself, the problem is that if Lenia really gets serious, we won’t be able to stop her, not even for a single moment. It’s frustrating to admit, but all I can say is that it would be considered a success if we can buy you even a second of extra time」
Even Selina and Dramina, who have become able to use my power to an extent, will inevitably be at a disadvantage against Lenia, who has regained her power from her previous life.
Unlike the two of them, Lynette couldn’t handle my power yet, so she had a stiff look on her face as she received in close range, a fragment of Lenia’s power, which she had only heard about until now.
Her heart, which had been struck by the beauty of Christina and Dramina just earlier, was forcibly brought back to its senses in the face of Lenia’s tremendous power, which could be called a calamity of immeasurable, cosmic proportions.
「If that is the case for Selina and Dramina, then there is nothing that I can do either.
Although the power radiating from Lady Lenia’s spirit is barely observable by the measuring instruments within my body, I did manage to measure it, and it is unbelievably high, and extreme.
Even if I compare it to the records left in the Celestial facility, there was nothing that possessed enough power to be this much of a threat.
So this is the true value of Lady Lenia, the strongest Divine Beast, and the one who holds the factors of both the Great Evil God Al La Caravis and Master Dran」
Every time Lynette addressed her as “Lady Lenia,” Lenia’s ears and shoulders would twitch, watering down her annoyance, and a very slightly better mood began to show itself through her viciousness, upon hearing Lynette’s words.
Maybe, just maybe, in order to cover for Christina and Dreadnought, Lynette had chosen her words carefully to improve Lenia’s mood with her words.
