Chapter 234

Lenia Rufful Blaster Blast, a seventeen-year-old young lady whose beauty would put flowers to shame. She was a lovely fairy, whom everyone would gaze upon with adoration—if only she would shut up.

Yes, if only she would shut up.

The moment those lips of hers parted, arrogant and insolent words would fly out and crush any impression one would have of her looks. Even her petite body radiated overwhelming confidence that intimidated others.

Even though Lenia possessed the physical body of a human, having been born from human parents, she had the soul of a rare and unique creature. Within her was the soul of the magical beast created by the great evil god with fragments of the Ancient-Celestial Dragon. This very creature was probably one of its kind in the world, and Lenia had its soul.

This very young lady was famed at Galois Magic Academy, where she was enrolled. She was known best for being a very special problem child.

Lenia’s grades were stellar, but she hardly paid attention in classes she had no interest in. Rather, she only did the bare minimum in classes required for her to be promoted to the next grade. The number of friends she had was limited, and the number of students with whom she had a decent conversation could be counted with her fingers.

Despite Lenia’s rather unassuming student life, she shot to fame due to her vicious combat skills. These abilities were the very reason she crushed her opponents at last year’s Magic Tournament hosted by the five magic academies.

The five selected contestants of Galois, including Lenia, had won their respective matches, and their victory at the Magic Tournament was like a brilliant ray of light. This achievement made their fellow contestants and teachers from Galois Magic Academy proud, though the contestants in the following year faced an unsurmountable amount of pressure. The fact that three of the five students who had been selected last year had graduated added stress to the remaining students in Galois Magic Academy.

Even though two of the past year’s contestants remained in the academy, the tournament was a five-way match with three victories securing the champion’s title. Out of the two who were still in the academy, Lenia was certainly undefeatable. As for Nelneshia, she remained a tough opponent. These two could guarantee wins for Galois Magic Academy, but the teachers and Lenia shared the same thought. They wanted at least two more people of the same caliber as Nelneshia or Phenia, who had graduated.

The problem was that Phenia and Nelneshia were rare gems that appeared once in a decade. If these two had been adventurers or mercenaries, they would have long since made a name for themselves as talented and stellar individuals.

They were not just blessed with talents, but the right environment to hone their skills. Last year, they had the opportunity to train with the water dragon queen and the seven primordial dragons for the Magic Tournament.

Galois Magic Academy certainly did not have people gifted enough to fill the gaps left behind by Dran, Christina, and Phenia after their graduation. Perhaps it would be accurate to even say that it was impossible to find people to take their places even if one were to scour through the entire world.

Skilled students on par with the two girls were not entirely nonexistent. There were the ones who had participated in last year’s preliminary contest to select contestants for the tournament, but quite a number of them had already graduated.

As for the ones who were still enrolled in the magic academy, they firmly declined to participate. Last year, Lenia had let her excitement get the better of her in her fights when she knew that Dran was watching. Her opponents had since failed to shake off their fear even after a year.

In the end, the three students selected to compete alongside Lenia and Nelneshia could not be said to be the best at Galois Magic Academy. Lenia, who aspired to follow in the footsteps of her father Dran and clinch a second victory at this year’s tournament, was not entirely unbothered by this state of affairs.

Spring flew by, and summer had strolled right up to everyone. Beads of sweat formed on the skin even if one stood still, and sunlight poured down from the blue sky to tan the skin a shade darker.

The cool breeze that gusted by would make one’s eyes squint on this summer day. Lenia was in the courtyard of Galois Magic Academy, hammering her plans for this year’s Magic Tournament into the four other selected students. Fatima, Sierra, and Irina were present as well, joining the gathering of five. These three were often seen with Lenia and Nelneshia, and no one found their presence out of place.

Standing before Lenia were three students. These three—the selected representatives who would participate as contestants alongside Lenia and Nelneshia—were notorious for being the haughtiest and most insolent individuals in Galois Magic Academy.
