Chapter 64 – Part 2

As the magic snake’s poison circulated throughout the ocean demons’ bodies, blood started to spurt out of every open orifice of their bodies. They were annihilated in such a way, that they didn’t even have time to raise screams of agony as they died.

Agana, caught off guard by Selina’s surprise attack, was trembling in fear, but the other ocean demons were used to fighting water dragons, fish people, and the like. They were active duty soldiers, and so they didn’t hesitate one bit and closed in for the attack.

「Numbers are all they have. It looks like we can settle this without you getting a turn to fight, Dran」

「If they were ordinary soldiers or mages, then they’d need to prepare close to four or five times this amount, probably…」

「Well, that’s because they’d be facing us, after all. Shall we go?」

Christina cast a whole body strengthening spell on herself, covered the blade of Elspada in magic so that the length of the blade, and thrust right into the ranks of the demons.

Selina’s summoned magic snake was slithering its large body around and trapping the demons in place, while Christina, carried as if she were loved by the wind, ran past them, and cut them all down one after the next, with her sword Elspada as a catalyst of her magic.

「The divine protection of a demon god? Such a thing won’t make a difference against us」

Thanks to my two very reliable allies, I didn’t really have much to do.

Christina was as usual, beyond the standards of a regular human. But Selina, since meeting me, has fought in battles more and more, and she has now completely become a first class combat mage.

Combined with the protection of the pendant made from my scale that I’d given her, her power may even be within range of the lamia queen.

In the end, the only thing I could say that I did during this fight was shoot two Energy Arrows at Agana whenever he tried to summon more demons. I aimed for his head and heart, and he was sent flying.

I put a seal on Agana’s staff, after we finished cleaning up all the ocean demons who had appeared. Then, as we promised to Vaje, we hurriedly went toward the coast to see how their fight was going.

There was also the option of putting aside the ocean beasts for the moment, and

joining Fatima and Nell first, which would make explaining all this to the city guard a little less troublesome.

Aside from the mansion that belonged to Agana, there weren’t any ocean demons or paths that had infiltrated into the city, and there were also no demons attacking Fatima’s villa either, so we could safely just leave the city for later.

Just as we arrived along the coast of the beach, we saw how the remains of the ocean demons had been reduced to nothing more than ash, a section of the sand in the beach had liquefied and turned into glass because of high heat, and large holes had been carved into the seabed.

The ruins of Lenia using her telekinesis to tear apart the bodies of five ocean demons remained, but that was an unexpectedly low number.

This is probably because the bodies had been crushed to pieces so small, there were hardly any traces left.

Also, thanks to Lenia’s insatiable desire for destruction, even the demons’ souls were crushed, so much that they would never be reincarnated or brought back to life again.

「Couldn’t they, how should I say this, be sued for damages to nature?」

Although it was just one section of the beach, Golnev was still known as a beautiful tourist site, and yet here they were, changing up the landscape of this place. Christina said this with a twitch of her lips.

She might have been imagining how much money they would have to pay if the city were to demand reparations.

Christina’s sense of value for money wasn’t different from commoners, so it was likely that the amount she was imagining was enough to make her stomach hurt.

「Um, well, this happened because we’re fighting to protect the humans from the ocean demon invaders, so they wouldn’t sue us or anything, would they?」

Selina said that with an indescribable expression on her face, but she was probably unexpectedly flustered underneath that.

I didn’t not understand these two’s apprehensions.

Until just a little while ago, we had been having fun with Fatima, Nell, and Irina on the beach, but it was like it had been transformed into a different land. The sight spreading before us now was completely different.

「If worse comes to worst, we’ll let Vaje pay for it with her stockpiled treasures. There’s quite a lot saved up, so if we use that, we should be able to cover it」

「You said that so calmly, but Vaje would riot if she knew, Dran-san. Oh, I see Lenia and Vaje. They’re over there!」

As we headed for the stairs that would lead down to the beach, I looked towards where Selina was pointing, and there was Lenia making herself float out over the open sea with her telekinesis. She then materialized an imaginary dragon and wrapped herself with it so she could dive into the water.

From the edge of the water, all the way out to the open sea, the water’s surface was stained red and black with the ocean demons’ blood. Bits of flesh and internal organs drifted between the waves.

「Looks like Lenia got into it more than I expected. She doesn’t seem injured either, so that’s a relief, but maybe Vaje is having a little more trouble than I thought」

Vaje came flying out from under the surface of the reddish-black ocean surface, entangled with three squid-like creatures and their long and narrow tentacles.

Her stomach was exposed, revealing a nicely shaped navel, and a chest that would be too large to even fit in my hands. The youthful, feminine fat of her thighs were wet with the black and red sea slime of the squid tentacles wrapping around her. Vaje’s face was not just anguished, but also colored with deep discomfort.

Even transformed into her Dragonian form, Vaje’s original body was that of a fully grown dragon. She had a lot more mass and vitality than appearances would have one believe. There isn’t a whole lot that could pressure her into this much distress.

The drenched tentacles that had wrapped themselves about Vaje’s body had some kind of mucus that mixed in with the seawater, so it created a slimy, gleaming shine. Her long hair, which had the tendency to fly about everywhere, was wet and clung to her sides, her cheeks and to the nape of her neck. Her well-endowed body was putting pressure on her clothes, straining them close to bursting open, while they had become mostly transparent.

The tentacles of the squids or whatever they were wrapped around her stomach, chest, thighs, and neck were growing in number, until soon, Vaje was almost completely covered underneath the slimy, shiny white tentacles. All that could be seen of her was her face, the ends of her claws, and her tail.

But, you aren’t made of just cuteness that you would give up from something like this. Isn’t that right, Vaje?

It’s not like she was able to hear my inner voice, but from right in the center of her restraints, a flame came bursting out from Vaje’s body, hot enough to roast my skin from far away, and she did it at the exact same timing as I had spoken within my mind.

「There’ll be nothing left of you!!」

Rushing forth together with Vaje’s angry roar, a crimson flame spread out in all directions, dispelling all darkness in the surrounding area.

The dazzling brightness made me squint my eyes, and I saw the squids and the tentacles that had been restraining Vaje, and the figures of their owners hiding under the water — all of it that I could see were reduced to charcoals, crumbling to pieces from the touch of the warm and stinky sea breeze.

Selina and Christina lightly reeled back when they looked at Vaje, and Vaje herself noticed that we were there. While flapping her wings, she gently descended toward us.

「Hmph. The only strong point those things had was their large size」

As always, Vaje spoke with an arrogant attitude, but she was boasting even more than usual, puffing out her chest with pride, as if she was waiting for praise.

「Nicely done. You did splendidly, Vaje. As expected, you truly are the Crimson Dragon. I’m impressed」

I’m someone who prides myself in my inability to say empty flattery out of social politeness.

When I praise someone, I really praise them.

As if she understood that, Vaje further scoffed haughtily, while her tail fluttered happily.

Somehow, I caught the sight of her cheeks and mouth seeming to soften.

Vaje had some sides to her that were hard to please, but when she’s around someone she can let her guard down with, she takes on an attitude that is truly easy to understand.

Learning how to interact with her isn’t really such a difficult thing at all.

「Hmhmm, of course you are. Those vulgar and inferior ocean demons could never win against me!」
