Chapter 66

The pathway that led to the world of the ocean demon gods disappeared right before my and Ryoukichi’s eyes, crumbling away as if it were pieces of rotted meat falling away. And from that space, a vague silhouette came walking out slowly, and headed toward us.

Finally, Octour had made it out of the ocean demon world, and stepped out onto our side of the boundary, stretching long tentacles covered in black, barnacle-like objects into the crumbling dimension.

From there, he spread his purple colored fins, which really looked like bat wings, and used them to turn his human-shaped body towards us. With four blue eyes shining back at us, his face that looked like a sea slug was revealed to us.

A countless number of pink colored tentacles billowed out from his round shaped mouth, and his entire body was soaked with the water from the ocean demon world.

When Octour crossed over and landed in the space connected to the surface world, he opened his tentacled mouth widely, and roared in triumph.

Even under the normal restrictions to his power and authority on earth, he would have enough power to defeat even the Water Dragon Emperor herself, so exactly how strong must the current Octour be?

The tentacles around Octour’s mouth had been squirming and wriggling about ceaselessly, but it started to move in a completely different way, as the unpleasantly disgusting ocean demon god spoke of his own intentions.

「Disappear, you lowly Dragon descendant」

Rather than my ears, Octour’s voice and thoughts rang out within my mind.

「So you’re ignoring me, huh? Well, I don’t care. But hey, Octour」

Octour ignored me again even after I called out to him, and unleashed water attacks instead. One was a water sphere, one was a water blade, one was a water arrow, and another was a water bullet.

Without even trying to listen to what I was saying, he rained his attacks down upon us. I let out one exasperated sigh, and then changed my pupils into their rainbow colored dragon form, and fixed Octour’s four eyes with the piercing gaze of my own.

The moment I did that, Octour stopped moving, as if time had stopped.

My eyes effectively jogged Octour’s memory, reminding him of my previous form. Then he finally made the connection between that form and my current one. About time, you idiot.

「Octour, I don’t know much about you, but I do know that you should recognize these eyes」

「Ooooooohhhhh!!!! You’re the brother of that pesky Leviathan, aren’t you? The weakling who was done in by the humans! You were the only one of the seven original dragons who got killed; a disgrace to you kind!

I didn’t think you would have reincarnated yet, but this is perfect. Before I go slaughter Leviathan, I’ll crush your soul first, and give it to her as a tribute!!」

「It’s rare for an evil god to know of me as a dragon, let alone speak so much about it too. You said you would turn me into a tribute. You sure talk big. I haven’t heard such words said to me so seriously since I first fought with Caravis.

Do you have the skills to back up your threats? You so-called “god” of the ocean demons. Even though I was reborn as a human and my soul became a little cloudier, I didn’t think you were so slow, that it would take you this long to recognize me」

「The one who talks too big is you, dragoooooooon!!」

The barnacle-like objects on Octour’s whole body suddenly contracted, and the poisonous reddish-purple water gathered there like rolled up threads was violently released.

The finely bundled poisoned water mover faster than light, as it turned into blades with the intention of cutting us down. But it was an attack similar to Neltona’s.

The length of this water blade was infinite. It held a poison far stronger than all other poisons on the earth. It was strong enough to ignore not just the hardness of an ocean demon god’s divine power, but it could also ignore the laws of physics and cut through all things.

A single blade could cut a whole universe in half, and its poison would cause one’s flesh to decompose completely.

Well, as a god, he was an existence worth admiring, so he got passing marks for that.

「Those words, I’ll be returning right back at you」

The blade of poisoned water headed toward myself and Ryoukichi, to strike us down. But with a few light flaps of my wings, I was able to disperse the poisoned water.

The wind was embedded with the power of an ancient dragon god, and when it touched the approaching rainbow-colored poison water, it splattered into countless droplets and dissipated.

Octour looked upon me, and how I had yet to break a sweat. His anger burned as he felt shame, and the mouth and tentacles stretching from his back opened up even further, as he spit out a brand new stream of water.

However, if such a gush of water were to be released on the earth, it would easily cross dimensions and wash away the whole universe, so strictly speaking, Octour’s attack really couldn’t be called just water anymore.

In fact, it could be said that it was the matter that made up the universe itself, compressed into liquid form.

If I were swallowed up by this stream, I wouldn’t be drowning in water, but in the air of the universe itself.

Octour was building up the vast size of the stream from matter made by compressing a universe into the size of an atom.

It held so much power, that it could destroy a universe. That was the kind of attack he was striking against the enemy with.

I stood in the face of that attack, that torrent of “water” made of compressed universal matter, and I threw my right arm up with a bored face, just as it rushed towards me with a flash of light.

The torrent was perfectly aligned in a straight path as it met with my raised right hand, and then it split cleanly in half, right down the middle, dissipating into nothingness on either side of me.

I had no intention of expending any more effort than this. I had no intention to really fight Octour. That’s because I came here to absolutely destroy him, after all.

「I haven’t used this since becoming a human, but you, Octour. You shall have a taste of my full power!」

I let my power build up within me, and right in the center of my back where my six wings were, a tremendous light burst forth. My seventh wing, which I normally don’t show, sprouted from my back.

Rainbow colored eyes, white scales, and not six, but seven wings. This was my true form at full power.

I wasn’t the Six-Winged Dragon. No. My original name was the Seven-Winged Rainbow Eyed White Scale Ancient-Celestial Dragon.

My power was far too strong, so I usually put restraint on it. But as my hidden seventh wing was released, the power inside my soul swelled up, and in a single instant, it grew into something far stronger than it was just earlier.

Seeing the form of my original power unleashed, Octour put some distance between us by summoning more space from his limitless dimensions, as his whole body and soul began to shake in terror.

This trump card of mine once inflicted great wounds to Caravis’ heart. Since becoming a human, this was the first time I’ve been able to use it again.

Having had the attack that he had put his entire being into suddenly neutralized in the blink of an eye, and then further realizing that I was putting out my full power, Octour finally understood the foolishly vast difference in power between himself and us. And so, he let out a painfully loud and agonized scream, but I felt no sympathy.

Moreover, my — our encirclement around Octour was already complete.

With the full power of my seventh wing released, I created “Six Bodies” anew. I had just finished deploying them all into a circle to trap Octour in the center.

It was the first step in preparing my ultimate attack.

The six bodies together held the same amount of power as myself, the seventh one. Octour’s will had already broken in despair, as he spread out his spiritual perception, perhaps in search of a place to run away to. But even if he were to return to the Great Demon World, that place was still within range of my perception. Escape was futile.

From the beginning, the “self” that I had sent here was a clone, and including the six that had been born from this body, there were now seven clones, each with wings of their own individual color.

If the seven of us were to raise our voices all together at the same time, we would be able to amplify each other’s power. If we do so, the power circulating between us won’t rise in just quantity, but also quality.

From each of our bodies, a light like the sun, each dyed in different colors, burst out.

Together with the cries of our roars, the power was already growing and circling between us, and if even just a little bit overflowed, it would be strong enough to easily destroy the ocean demon world.

It’s fine as long as we kept the power restricted within our circle of influence, but if we were to unleash it all without any limits, then it wouldn’t destroy just this subspace, but also the Great Demon World, and the heavens. Even the earth wouldn’t be able to escape collapse.

After hearing Octour’s screams, a sympathetic look rose to Ryoukichi’s face. That was because Octour was clearly terrified of me, trembling as he screamed in fear.

Octour couldn’t even stand against the strongest dragon on the earth, Ryoukichi. So in the face of me, a majestic Celestial Dragon, there was no surprise that he would be exposing such shameful behavior.

This god of the ocean demons had spent hundreds, no, thousands of years having his people offer sacrifices to him, so he could finally arrive in this world. But here he was, just about to perish because of me.

We took one step forward. In Octour’s eyes, he probably felt that his executioner was drawing near.

「You and your people probably felt relief when news of my death arrived. But I continued to live on in this form. As long as I am still here in this space away from the earth, I will not forgive the things that you’ve done. Prepare yourself」

The power of this soul of mine which had reincarnated into a human, was actually quite shameful if I ever showed it to my previous acquaintances. But Octour was just pretending to be an ocean demon god. He was really nothing more than another small fry, one of many within a useless mob.

Octour held both hands out, and shook them left and right together with his head, while begging: 「No, no, please forgive me」

Seeing that, a smile broke out across my whole face. I had really outdone myself.

「I won’t」

And then, as we felt that the power we accumulated had risen far enough, each of us unleashed our full power upon Octour.

We opened our mouths, and sent out a breath from deep within our throats, that looked similar to a mist.

The light of our power that had come out of us was each the same color of our individual wings. Octour had no way to run, and no way to evade. He was completely unable to block our attack, as the space within our encirclement was filled with the lights of a rainbow.

「Perish in my wrath, you foolish ocean demon god!!」

At the end of our roar, the extra large amount of power combined, and the seven lights turned into a sphere. It hit Octour directly, who was already near death anyway. The unleashed power fused, and changed into a remarkably huge, rainbow colored ball of light.

Anything caught within range, would absorb the amplified power, and completely disappear from existence in all dimensions. This was my ultimate trump card, or as Caravis likes to call it, Dragon Ball.

Even the famous Caravis, the once immortal deity, had been brought to the brink of death by this trump card. But to me, compared to the absolute destructive power I had back then, the demise I had wrought now was disappointing.

Octour was swallowed up by the rainbow colored light, and gradually faded away in little pieces, disappearing piece by piece until not even a single particle of his remains were left.

「Hm」

I disassembled and recombined the six bodies, and closed up the released seventh wing. Good grief, to think I would tire from doing just this. I’ve grown quite weak.

I had destroyed the existence of Octour, from every region of every dimension. But I still had to close off this subspace too.

Over thousands of years, the ocean demons had given up millions, to tens of millions of sacrifices for the sake of their god, Octour. Traces of the deep grudges of those sacrifices still remain in the atmosphere, so this place will have to be purified.

If even a little bit of the miasma that filled this place were to spill over into the earth, it would pollute nature so severely, an eternity of purification wouldn’t dispel it, and then it would spread throughout the earth.

With just the pollution here in the demon god’s altar of summoning, the great priests on earth would need to call upon the help of the gods, or summon the Celestial King to purify it.

「The Ocean Demon Lord was one thing, but of course fighting their god would lead to this. We just turned thousands of years of labor and sacrifice back into nothingness, but if this happens again, it would be quite troublesome, haha 」

Yeah, I said a few chapters ago that this novel felt like what would happen if you inserted the power scale of a Chinese Xianxia webnovel into a Japanese webnovel. And now I am seriously starting to suspect that this Japanese author has read Chinese cultivation novels and decided to make this novel just as over the top, minus the inclusion of cultivation stages.

Also: “I wasn’t the Six-Winged Dragon. No. My original name was the Seven-Winged Rainbow Eyed White Scale Ancient-Celestial Dragon.”

That type of naming is the kind of shit you would see in a Chinese cultivation novel as well, titles get ridiculous in those novels.
