Seven Wonders of the Academy

　I think the retraining of Rinko-senpai was pretty thrilling, if I do say so myself.

In terms of night-attendance rotation, it was the Senpais’ turn, but it ended up starting and ending with Rinko-senpai.

I try to show up at everyone’s room as fairly as possible, but there are also times when I end up using up all my strength after getting too immersed in it along the way.

The Senpais are very open-minded, so it’s a life saver that they don’t sulk the next day.

This morning, for instance, Touka-senpai and Anzu-senpai were strangely in a good mood with a satisfied look on their faces.

「Your face has completely become that of a female, has it not? Senpai.」

「Dear me… Yes, I suppose that can’t be helped~.」

Shizuka-san and Rinko-senpai are engaged in idle talk with a sweet smile on their faces.

Incidentally, Rinko-senpai’s skin is glowing.

Both of them are very high in spirits even though it’s the beginning of the week, Monday.

In fact, the other dorm residents that have come to the dining hall of Asagi-sou are giving off a blazing negative aura, as if they were out of motivation.

I heard it out last night from the person in question, who is hiding in the shadow of Rinko-senpai and peeking, stealing glances at me.

No, she woke up while we were in the middle of doing tyrant play, so I ended up attacking Mikan-senpai in tyrant mode as well.

For this, I was at fault.

「Hyah….」

Her scream-like voice is cute, but her ending up swiftly pulling her face back is saddening.

It’s just that Touka-senpai and Anzu-senpai giving her advice in a stealthily manner is a little worrying.

「Ah~, I don’t want to see any more kanji, alphabets, and formulas….」

Mai, who is plopped down stickily on the table, stretches out her hand toward the plate.

Today’s breakfast is freshly baked scones.

I’m having it with the topping of clotted cream, a mixture of fresh cream and butter, and fresh jam.

I think honey and maple syrup would go well with this too, given things.

Mai, biting into the plentifully cream-covered scone, grumbles.

「To begin with, you see~. Even if you study these things, you won’t be able to use them for anything other than tests, right?」

「No, this level of study is within the scope of common sense, duh.」

Seiichi, with an exasperated look on his face, takes a sip from his cup of coffee.

Well, leaving the written test side, I’m more concerned about the dungeon practice assignments.

Today and tomorrow are scheduled for the written test, but the details pertaining to the practical assignments should be presented then, too.

「Sealed old club room building, huh….」

As I end up mumbling about it, the surrounding gazes gather on me.

That’s a little scary, though.

「Err, Touma-kun… You see.」

Timidly, Mikan-senpai, whose face is still red, talks to me.

Behind Mikan-senpai, Touka-senpai and Anzu-senpai are giving me thumbs up.

I guess I’ll thank them later.

「Err, you see, as expected, I think the Adept Orders (we) don’t need a new club room. Especially, the old club building is, umm, that, after all.」

「Hmm. What do you mean by that?」

Those who seem to be in the know are all evasive about it, so I have a feeling that there’s some good-for-nothing circumstances attached to it.

　I’ve heard about it since ages ago in the capacity of rumors, but in the Toyoashihara Academy there’s an occult legend called the 『Seven Wonders of the Academy』.

As far school’s ghost stories are concerned, I guess it’s a staple one.

『The Wailing Head Mound in the Academy Grounds』

In the case of our academy, it seems to be like this.

And it appears to differ slightly from grade to grade.

There are actually only six in number, and if you end up finding the seventh and last one… Though, that part is in common.

There used to be a story among it called 『The Evil God Waiting for Its Resurrection in the Arena』, but it seems that the rumor has rapidly faded away.

I guess that means there’s freshness to the stories.

On another note, there’s also this so-called 『Seven Wonders of the Dungeon』.

There seems to be various theories pertaining to this as well.

Like the academy ones and the dungeon ones being mixed up, or something.

What I’m a little concerned about is the『~New Moon』 story in the academy’s list.

This serves as a story that sets a warning not to go out on the night of the new moon.

It seems to be a relatively new story, replacing『The Evil God Waiting for Its Resurrection in the Arena』.

There have actually been eye-witnesses and victims, apparently.

That was a close call.

Actually, I’ve chosen the moonless night to avoid the public gazes when I take baby Nue for a walk.

It’s a walking party in which even Yuki-chan, who is basically a shut-in, rides on baby Nue, the walking inorganic object series including konnyaku-man come along, and the group of multi-legged mobile weapons also accompany us, as they want to map the academy or something.

Once it grows into a large group, I enlarge the fuzzy hyper cloud and take everyone flying in the sky, but as konnyaku-man and the others make merry in a party as the please, we’ve been a bit of a nuisance.

However, it seems that the new moon is dangerous, so let’s take a walk on another night.

Next time, I guess I’ll take Peperon along for the purpose of dieting, since it seems that he has grown even fatter.

Perhaps because it’s getting colder, but he’s dug a burrow-like structure on his own and started shutting himself in.

I thought he would get scolded if he were to break the water pipe or something, so I talked to the Senpais about it, but they said he wasn’t actually digging in the ground, but was making a hole in the space itself.

I don’t know the principle, but there’s no real harm done, so we’ve left it alone.

Speaking of tampering with the space whatnot, Umeka-senpai, our troublemaker and『Labyrinth Creator (Dungeon Creator)』, has been doing this time and again at Asagi-sou, so I guess it’s not so unusual of a matter.

The proof of this is that no one has made a fuss about it.

Well, putting such trivial matters aside.

「Awright, it’s done! I’m going to refill my sugar content with sweets, Orraaah! Seichi’s treat!」

The second day of the written test is over, and Mai’s going wild.

She truly is a girl of excessive liveliness.

「Well, I promised, after all. Let’s go to the cafeteria.」

「Yes, I suppose so. Let’s talk about the dungeon practice assignment too there.」

Even though it’s not regarded with importance, as expected, I guess everyone would relax their mind once the test is over.

Something akin to a sense of liberation is also mixed in the air in the classroom.

In fact, the real test is the dungeon practice assignment.
