CHAPTER 215: ZOMBIE-SENPAI’S GREAT ADVENTURE ⑥

CHAPTER 215: ZOMBIE-SENPAI’S GREAT ADVENTURE ⑥

~ Cool Ex-Zombie Point of View ~

— CRUNCH, CRUNCH, GNAW, GNAW……

— MUNCH, MUNCH……

— CRUNCH, CRUNCH, GULP, GULP……

Now this is bad. I did not expect this at all……

Right in front of me, the evolved Ravan was preying on the swarm of ants he just so happened to defeat.

That was fine in and out of itself, but what a big eater he has become! I mean, with a body this big, a human-sized ant would be like a small snack…… But seeing the three heads crunching and munching on the exoskeletons of the ants and stuffing their parts into his stomach made me worried about how much food he would possibly require to sustain himself in the future.

「Gyaruo?」

「Gyuuh……」

「Gyurururuoh.」

As I was thinking about this matter, each of the three heads reacted differently to my expression.

They were surely saying things like, “Is there no more food to eat?”, “These bugs taste really bad……”, and “You guys eat too much.”

…… Huh? Could it be that all of the three heads had different wills and personalities? Well, I mean, having three heads would surely mean that you would have three brains, so it actually makes a whole lot of sense that each head would have a will of its own. But originally there was only one head, so now that another two wills have been added to the original wills, that would mean…… Ah! This is getting way too confusing!!

But there was still only one body, so with those three heads each eating independently, it would still bloat his stomach quite a bit!

「Gyaahh, gyaahh!!」

「「Gyoohh……」」

Based on the way in which the middle head scolded the two side heads just now for their behavior and what they were saying, I think it was safe to assume that the middle head was actually representing the original will and personality of Ravan.

But even so, the process of evolution really is a strangest thing. I never thought Ravan would become a multi-headed dragon just like that. And why does he have twelve tails to begin with? But it has only three heads, right? So no matter how you look at it, things certainly did not add up here……

Hmm, oh well, I guess there is hardly any point in thinking too much about such complicated things! The important thing right here is that I have gained for myself a new friend or two, depending on how you want to look at it.

「「「GURURURAI!!!」」」

See? All three heads seemed to agree with me on that fact. It would seem that they were able to understand what I was thinking to a certain extent.

Alright then! Now that we managed to get ourselves rid of those nasty ants, we could finally get our hands on some water! After all, this was our original goal in the first place, but…… Huh? What is that? What is that strange hole?

「GYAAI!!! GYAAI!」

…… Huh? What’s that? A bunch of ants were coming out of that particular hole? So was that their nest or something like that?

I’m curious. …… No, I’m really curious about that!

No, I know. Logically speaking, we can get hydrated here, which was our initial goal to begin with, so we can ignore the nest and there would be no problem with that at all.

Considering the size of the entrance itself, there was no way that Ravan could possibly squeeze in there, so if I wanted to go in there to investigate, I would have to do that entirely on my own.

Plus, if there was a nest here, then that also meant that the Boss of all of those ants was bound to be in there as well. There were so many of them to begin with, and I have already established that those ants were somewhere around C Rank when it comes to power, so I couldn’t even begin to guess what kind of monster their Boss could possibly be. To be honest, the risk and the reward here were not exactly matching up.

But what was I actually aiming for here?! How can I possibly call myself a “Nice Guy Who Speaks with His Actions” if I was going against my own curiosity like this?!

The risk? The reward? Screw all that! If there is something “Unknown” out there, a nice guys such as myself should just go out there and investigate it right away!

So with that being said, Ravan, just wait around here for a while!

I’m going in to conquer this great unknown!!

***

I left Ravan behind and entered the burrow, and a few moments later, I found myself in a situation where there were swarms of ants crawling all around me.

Not only was this burrow wider and more complicated than I initially expected it to be, but it was also a place so dark that I could not sense any light around me. However, I had a Skill called “Skeleton Darkness Eyes”. With this, I could grasp my surrounding terrain and its outline with ease, even in a complete darkness. I guess it was all thanks to this Skill that I was able to get a clear grasp of my surroundings even after the Fire Dragon had burned everything except my bones.

But I have digressed.

And so I reached the deepest part of the burrow. In an open hall-like place, there were a huge number of eggs and one giant Winged Ant, more than I could possibly see with my eyes. This was probably the Queen Ant. An unpleasant crunching sound was coming from its mouth, from which digestive fluids were dripping all over the place, and it was vibrating its wings strongly, probably to sound a warning to the rest of the colony.

I had not even counted how many of its subordinates I had killed before getting here. As I went deeper and deeper, I came across many evolved individuals, but I turned them all into corpses in a matter of seconds.

Even if it threatened me now, it wouldn’t change anything about what I had to do. I just wanted to beat it to death and prove my strength to it, that’s all!

When I passed my Magic Power through the Fire Moon Spear, flames burst out from the tip of the blade. Then, I activated my “Eight Hot Hells” and “Meikirukotsu”, and my whole body was enveloped in dark red flames. Seeing this, the Queen Ant could not resist her instincts and naturally retreated, putting more distance between herself and me.

…… I knew it even before the fight. This thing was nothing more but a small fry.

It was commendable that she had not given up on living right away, but I have already lost interest in this Queen Ant. As a token of mercy, I would just kill her with one blow.

I kicked the ground and the distance between me and the Queen Ant closed in an instant. Using that momentum, I raised my Fire Moon Spear and rotated my body to drive the tip of the blade into her torso.

Just a few seconds after we made contact, the Queen Ant’s body was cut cleanly in half, and her life was brought to an end in an instant.

Or rather, she was no more difficult to bring down than any other ant around her.

I guess I have gotten too strong at some point. I felt an emotion just now that I could not put into words.

(…… Oh well. I will go back to Ravan for the time being.)

The moment I turned around with that thought in mind, I received a strong blow to my back and was slammed into the earthen wall of the large open hall.
