CHAPTER 221: THE LIZARD ADVENTURER

The next morning after sharing information between ourselves, we decided to take a walk around the town. First, we headed to the Adventurer’s Guild.

The dungeon here in Wyslo was managed by the Adventurer’s Guild, and in order to enter it, we first needed to apply for permission at the Adventurer’s Guild.

This dungeon, said to have been created by an ancient Dungeon Master, had many clear differences from other dungeons that we have seen so far, even just from hearing a little bit about it. To prevent people from entering the place without actually knowing of the risks involved, it seems that it was mandatory to show your Adventurer Card at the entrance to the Beginner level “Snake Tower”. If you did not apply to the Guild beforehand, you would be instantly turned away.

With Nelfie’s guidance, we arrived at the Adventurer’s Guild and opened the entrance door, and a lively scene met our eyes.

It was the busiest time of the day, and a crowd had formed in front of the Quest Board. This seemed to be the same thing in all guilds, no matter where you would go. However, Demi-Humans and Beastmen alike were easily mingled among the group of people, a sight different from Alto Kingdom. I turned my eyes towards the counter and saw a sign that read “Application to enter Wislo Dungeon” clearly written there

「W-Welcome to the Wislo Adventurer’s Guild. Would you like to apply to conquer the Dungeon today?」

The Receptionist’s expression seemed stiff somehow. She seemed nervous even though she was used to dealing with such people on a daily basis……? Or was it just my imagination just now?

「Ah, we are the Adventurers Party called “Black Bolt” from Alto Kingdom. Can we apply to conquer the Dungeon now?」

「Y-Yes, of course! We have received a notice from the Imperial Guild as well! It takes about half a day from application to registration, so please come to the Guild again this afternoon to update your Adventurers Cards and receive various explanations before you can enter the Dungeon proper!」

「Hmm, as expected of Luna. She surely works fast.」

The Receptionist’s clear voice echoes throughout the guild hall, causing a chain reaction of reactions from the nearby Adventurers.

「Hey! You’re talking about the Alto Kingdom’s Seiha, aren’t you? The Clan that moved to suppress the Demon attack in the Imperial Capital a while back!?」

「I heard their main force is a party of SS Rank and S Rank Adventurers!」

「There are only a few SS Rank and S Rank parties in Wislo, so……」

「Actually, as rumored, all of them are Demi-Humans and wearing equipment from Eastern countries……」

「So, are all of those rumors true!?」

「Someone, go there and try to talk to them!」

「Are you stupid? I don’t want to die yet!」

「Looks like Wislo’s top Clans have been getting more and more violent lately……」

「…… Things are going to get really rough really soon.」

I could hear some ominous words being thrown here and there…… What kind of rumors were they even spreading about us?

I was curious about that, but the atmosphere in this place made it somehow difficult for us to properly listen to others.

「Hey, Miss Receptionist! What are those rumors being spread about us?」

「W-Well, umm……」

「I’m really curious about that! Are there rumors going around about us that are perhaps hard for you to talk about?」

Way to go, Drake! He was able to ask those hard-to-talk-about things so easily! His natural charisma and the smooth timing made me think he had stats for some rare Communication Skills as well.

「Y-Yes, that’s right…… When Ibuldia invaded Alto Kingdom, the two of your men massacred nearly one thousand soldiers on your own…… N-No, no! It’s just a rumor! I know that something like this cannot be true!」

「A-Ahaha, hahahaha…… So, what happened back then has become a rumor now, huh……?」

As I walked to the entrance to the guild, the door slammed open and a Demi-Human came rushing in, bumping into me and falling over.

He was small and looked timid, but the fact that he was going into the Guild building meant he must have been an Adventurer or at the very least someone related to one.

Looking more closely, it appeared to be a reptilian Demi-Human, with scales on his skin in places and a tail growing out from the back side of his body. Or rather, the tail had been torn off in half and was flopping around on the ground just now……

「Yeah. We just so happened to arrive here from Alto Kingdom yesterday.」

「Wow, all the way from Alto Kingdom?! That must have been a long journey! Oh, sorry for the late introduction, I’m Curulario! I’m a D Rank Adventurer!」

「And I’m Aun. You looked like you were in a hurry for something, are you okay?」

「Oh, yes, that’s right! I have to exchange money quickly and go back home! Everyone is waiting for dinner, you see! See you later!」

Wow, he really WAS in a hurry. In the end, He just went home without even exchanging the items that he had obtained for cash……

And this cut tail of his was twitching at the Guild’s entrance just like that…… Was it really okay for him to just leave it like that?
