Chapter 305: Shape of the Bough
After tidying the Canum house up, I returned to my mountain home.
「I’m home, Riche~ 」
Riche rushed at me, so I rubbed him all over.
When I looked outside, a lot of things were sticking to my window.
They were the spirits that Halalfa and Mischt led here from the fortress city while touring them. Note nodded at me with a smile.
He didn’t automatically name them (ahem, assigned their serial number) since they were led here by the deities. Well, although it wasn’t automatic, he did arrange them properly. It’s probably best if I’m the one to directly name them for 【Release】to take effect, I guess.
After another round of rubbing Riche, I prepared coffee on the desk facing the terrace. The spirits slowly trickled in and gathered at a distance when I opened all the windows. Note skillfully lined them up.

I considered cleaning the mountain house, but decided not to today. I took a break first before my mana ran out. Bathtime~
For dinner, I grilled large prawns — the ones they have here are similar to lobsters, with a smooth mouthfeel and umami that won’t lose against spiny lobster, no, it could even win hands down. I pinched and pulled the tail off then peeled the shell, put some shrimp miso instead of crab miso, added mayonnaise and took a huge bite.

After dinner, I played games like fetch and rope tag with Riche to my heart’s content, making up for the time that I had been away.

Okay, I’ll work diligently on the house and the fields for a while.
I opened the window first and cleaned the house, went down the basement that I don’t usually go to and swept the ashes from the hearth. Ashes would also pile up in the basement of this house too.
The house is built on a slope, with one side slightly higher than the other. There’s a long horizontal window on the wall of the partially exposed basement.
The way it’s built is more modern than the other houses, probably a result of a compromise between my perspective of the houses I know from my previous life and the available technology of this world. Still, for the most part it was still based on the houses here. The basement actually had a quarters for the servants and a room for baking. It also has a pantry and other rooms but I didn’t have any intention of using it so I rarely come here.
I never cleaned the place, so the dust was so…I ended up chucking dust into 【Storage】before I could even get to do the ashes.
After that, I went to tend to the fields and orchard that I had neglected for so long. I did check them every morning, it’s clear that they need me to work on them more. Grinding different types of flour was also on the agenda for today, but it looked like it would have to wait until tomorrow.
I spread the ashes that I collected onto the fields and repaired the props — ah, I didn’t work the entire day; Shiva invited me for lunch and Dinosso joined the kids and me as we played card games.
I also made Khan’s hooded cape that’ll protect him from the cold and also grinded some magic plates for the island’s public bathhouse while at it. Hmm, why did it seem like I was spending a lot of time grinding stones nowadays? Well, I also have parchment that’s been processed so it could be used for magic circles.
A huge magic circle adorned the upper torso part of Khan’s cape, and five more tiny ones on part that would fall around his knees. Lines that serve as pathways for distributing mana from the magic stone run towards the huge magic circle. Other lines also radiate towards the smaller circles from there.
The lines that connected the large circles to the smaller ones weren’t ordinary; they were infused with two spells — one was for letting the mana flow, the other would heat up similar to an electrically-heated wire. I think the cape turned up pretty awesome.
I immediately went to give it to Khan.
「Hmm, it’s quite warm. 」
「I did my best. 」
Khan wasn’t the type to wear his heart on his sleeve, but I was happy that he put it on right away.
I told him to be careful of low-temp burns, but he just replied 「Who do you think I am? 」. Oh right, he’s more spirit than human.
「Jean, Noth wants you to visit him tomorrow! 」
Chris called out to me just as I was about to go home.
Oh, maybe he managed to contact the rumored mage. I couldn’t help but feel excited. I doubt I’d be able to work with my mind wandering off too much, so it’s a rest day today!!
Okay, let’s just roam around Nalluahdid. It’s already fun just watching everything while leisurely strolling and more than that, it’s warm over there! As much as I love holding up in my home and making myself cozy during cold days, doing that for a long time would inevitably make me yearn for the blue sky, of course.
Nalluahdid is an island famed for their contracts and product displays. You can buy some things on the spot, but for the most part, folks would make deals with contracts first, then right after production, the items would be directly shipped to the places they would be sold at.
A lot of people come and go, so retail shops for personal shopping also exist, but they don’t seem to be core businesses here. Oh well, those stores are my target, though.
Previously, I bought red glassware, silverware and fabrics. Nowadays, I’ve been buying textile in bulk on the island, so I’m taking advantage of that. As for leather, Monitor Lizard-kun’s hide is too handy, so — no, wait, maybe I should also check what they have here; maybe I can use them for making belts and other accessories.
Ah, but before that, I just realized that I haven’t visited the 『Fae’s Bough』 here, so I head towards there. Nalluahdid’s 『Spirit Boughs』 should be genuine.

It’s beautiful, but it’s making me nervous!!

What’s unexpected was the shape, it’s wheat. Really, what the heck are these boughs…
