Chapter 338: Installing the Tower’s Furniture
I 【Teleport】from the Northern Continent with the Earthkin and furniture in tow.
I’m doing a provisional delivery today as scheduled. The furniture will be assembled inside the tower since there are a few pieces made to fit the tower’s interior shape, and a few pieces are also too big to fit the doors and stairs.
Above all, the Earthkins will also work on the banisters of the stairs in the entrance hall, as well as the railings surrounding the corridors.

The Earthkins cheered after Gamri, then promptly left for their respective work stations. They quickly dismantled the pedestals for the spirit lamps and the banisters that I installed.
I watched them for a while, before leaving for the cellar below so as not to be in their way. The tower interior was already cramped as it is, with the stairs even more so. It was originally built to defend against external threats, so it wasn’t huge to begin with. Ah, but since there’s one room per floor, it’s pretty spacious for someone living alone.
The Earthkins would definitely call me if there’s something I need to check, so I couldn’t leave the tower either. I ventured out of the entrance hall, and a completely transformed courtyard greeted me as I stood on the outdoor stairs.
Privacy walls that doubled as decor surrounded my tower, and trees were planted to conceal the entrance. I requested a sun shade trellis be built between the tower and the walls, with stone tiles lining the ground. The trellis became covered in climbing roses, apparently.
I’ll set an iron table here later, so that we can enjoy the cool breeze while hanging out here. Ah, actually, it’s still cooler inside the tower thanks to the chilly plates I installed.
The entrance hall is actually located on the second floor, with a outdoor staircase leading to it from the ground. The storage room was on the first floor probably to make it easier for unloading goods and storing them. Well, it also served as a pen for the livestock, so the folks here probably didn’t consider the first floor as living space previously.
This storehouse didn’t have access to the upper and lower floors, and the stairs built into the walls. I decided to turn it into a storage room housing the items and products that I want Soleil to sell. After all, I usually go to the island on a whim and Soleil is busy too.
「Blue Lizard-kun, sorry for the noise. 」
I apologize to the spirit of this tower that poked his face out. I already informed him beforehand that construction will be done here, but the Earthkins can be quite the boisterous bunch.

Blue Lizard-kun’s color was more vibrant and his tail became longer. His body was still small, but the tail that disappeared behind the walls was long enough to wrap the circumference of the tower. He’s probably the strongest spirit in this tower, no maybe in the entire island? He’s not the attack type, but he did say to leave the defense to him, so it’s kinda hard to define ‘strong’ in this case.
「Can I watch them work? 」

Blue Lizard happily vanished inside the walls.
Alright, since I’m already here, I might as well put some things inside the store room.
I put a few pieces of manastone and some spirit silver inside the boxes on the shelves that lined the walls, spread a few pelts on top of the huge table set right in the center of the room — I was scolded back then because they were all jumbled up when I took them out, so I diligently spread them. Next up was the stuff I got from the desert. I put them wherever they seem to fit.
「Soleil of the Island! 」
Gamri suddenly opened the door with a bang and hurriedly dashed inside the room.
「What’s up? 」
「We need help moving the magical tools! We don’t know how to handle them! 」
Ah, I got the feeling that I already removed the spirit lanterns, so I wonder what he’s talking about? Oh, it’s the chilly chilly plates, huh.
I retrieved the plates installed on the walls and the floor. Three Earthkins were waiting in the room while carrying boards that looked like wooden panels, while another two waited while holding a ladder. Three to six people were working on each room, apparently.
I asked Gamri to accompany me as I walked around checking their progress while trying my best not to be in their way. The sounds produced as they work were in harmony and in perfect rhythm, resounding like a song, and spirits appear now and then in sync with the ‘music’. Blue Lizard’s tail peeks out of the wall, from time to time, twitching to the beat.
The Earthkin worked with ease, effortlessly tackling tasks that seemed quite difficult such as attaching the boards to the ceiling, enclosing the space with the wooden panels and assembling the bed frame.
Several half-naked Earthkins were installing the flooring.
「Morick of the Sulfur Valley! What do you think you’re doing, delaying the work despite being an Earthkin! Where is your pride! 」
Gamri yelled.

They started on the layout phase of the work, so I told them I’ll go out for a while. I wanted to check the 『Fae’s Bough』.
