When I woke up, I was in my bed.

Sunlight streamed through the window. The time was… 7:32 a.m.

My body felt off, but that was probably just the heat getting to me.

You don’t figure out right away whether you’re cursed or not, I guess.

I changed clothes and headed downstairs. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, used the bathroom, basically ran through the morning routine in one go.

“I’m heading to school,” I told Eu, who was probably in the living room sipping tea, and stepped outside.

Great. Not a cloud in the sky. Misfortune never comes alone, I guess.

I’d have to stick to the shade somehow. There might even be some nasty combo effect with the curse.

Come to think of it, I’d been cursed once before. This summer, when Big Teach was captured by the King of the Night and made that bomb.
