And so, a fun first day of our school trip was drawing to a close.

Heading down the Sumida River brought us to Odaiba. By then the sun was setting, and it was starting to get cold.

“We’ll be staying at a ryokan here.”

A ryokan… in a place this developed? Do those even exist anymore?

I never heard of one. At most, I expected a hotel.

I followed along and found a full-on ryokan. A massive wooden building.

When did something like this even get built?

Come to think of it, this area was where Eu’s acquaintance lived. Nene, the strongest Underworlder.

We headed inside. As soon as we entered, young, lovely women greeted us with deep bows.

Traditional inns usually came with a pretty proprietress, but it was rare to see one staffed entirely by such young women. Very Odaiba, in a way.

“Welcome,” said a
